Weeee I did it chap 4 is out and is probably one of the longest chapters for me mentally to have written, I'm really hyped about his chapter so enjoy the show!!!

Ever since Tarrlok's Task force came into action things had been going smoothly for the police department, they were able to focus on other cases instead of the whole Equalist thing, it was nice just to relax for once. Luckily this was the one day (Y/N) had off and of course it was without Lin, The chief never rests.

So today was a day of just a day of relaxation and just not really having to worry about work, but of course even on days off you're never REALLY off work. (Y/N) was in the middle of filling in a couple case reports about the recent street vandalism from the Equallists but also some of the local gangs.

While tracking where the vandalism was easy, the actual crime committers were a little more tricky but (Y/N) was able to narrow it down to three major hotspots on where the vandalism was being committed more frequently. With a small sigh to herself she pushed the papers away from her and looked outside, there being a small rain of snow drifting slowly from the clouds and softly onto everything in its path.

She stood up stretching a little to crack her back from any unwanted uncomfort and decided to head to the shops to get some food, she looked in the fridge taking note of everything she needed before heading upstairs to get her coat on.

She gently opened the door to their home and headed out towards the snow covered streets of Republic city, she walked by a couple familiar stores as she made her way to the store. It felt nice just to somewhat forget about the recent events and just appreciate the small things.

(Y/N) noticed a couple things on her way such as a couple officers slacking off on their jobs, with a slight glare she rolled her eyes and whispered to herself "I'll talk to them tomorrow if I see them on my way back slacking off still". Other than that they were mostly pleasant things, such as some of the local animals running around the park as people sat on blankets watching the sky.

They were all enough to make (Y/N) smile, putting her into her own world. This almost made her miss the grocery store that she had intended on going to in the first place, coming to a sudden halt as she had just remembered. She laughed to herself and mumbled "I'm really out of it today huh", as she quietly walked into the store.

After getting the things she needed she began walking out once more passing by the same officers who were still slacking off, she sighed to herself and took note of their badge numbers before heading back home. Tonight was the quarter finals of the Pro Bending matches and she couldn't wait, the fire ferrets were doing pretty well lately, so she couldn't wait to hear about their matchup against the Buzzard Wasps.

As she was walking home she took a different route than usual just for a bit of nostalgia, this street being where she basically grew up, looking around it seems that basically nothing had changed. The street was lit up with many coloured lights from different stores, she smiled just reminiscing about her childhood.

Flashback

A young 7 year old (Y/N) ran down the street, the street was more known for its pop up shops and people selling pastries and other baked goods. (Y/N) was laughing softly as the snow covered streets left her small footprints all over, she was greeted by everyone from the neighbouring shops since she was pretty well known here. Her father's shop being her home and the most popular spot in the west side of Republic city.

She laughed as an old lady named Mrs Nachi beckoned her over and an excited (Y/N) dashed over saying "Oooo What do you have for me to taste today Mrs Nachi!!!" The old woman chuckled saying "well I have a wonderful apple tart for you to try out, also would you be a dear and bring two for your parents as well". The small girl nodded and smiled "Of course!!!", The older woman smiled and handed (Y/N) a slice of the tart which she gladly ate up.

She hummed in delight and said "It's amazing!! You're so great at Baking" The old woman chuckled and handed her a container containing two more slices, "why thank you dear, now run along it looks like your mother is home".

(Y/N) was quick to look to the side to see her mother walking home in her uniform, she quickly said goodbye before running towards her tired mother who stood at the entrance of their home, the small patter of feet catching her attention. (Y/N) jumped into her mother's arms saying "Mommy!! Your home!!".

With a small laugh her mother smiled at her saying "Yeah today was rough, chief went on us hard today", (Y/N) smiled and said "So did you beat up any bad guys today with your cool earthbending!". (Y/N) said while replicating some earthbending moves, her mother laughed saying "Not really, but I have a surprise for you", the young girl leaps for joy and says what is it!! Tell me tell me!!". Her mother smiled and said "Tomorrow we'll be meeting a very special person".....

Flashback over

(Y/N) stood in front of her parent's home smiling softly at the side door which lead upstairs to their house and then to the scratched up wooden door which lead to the actual establishment, she smiled to herself saying to herself "Those were some good memories, maybe I'll visit mum and dad one day" she said looking up to the upstairs portion of the house before going on her way.

It was around evening so (Y/N) couldn't wait to eat humming to herself as she continued on walking. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes enjoying the snow that slowly fell onto her face. Eventually getting back home unlocking the door and slowly walking in while shaking the snow off her shoulders "Phew, finally I get to eat", she giggled softly to herself walking to the kitchen with the bag of food on the kitchen bench.

(Y/N) got to making a nice grilled chicken and vegetable broth for dinner, humming to herself quietly as she swayed herself to the music drumming a little on the counter with her fingers while waiting for the water to heat up in the pot. Soon enough it began to get dark and the city lights had just turned on giving the whole city a different feel, it was warm and comforting at the same time as intimidating and daunting.

But luckily the raido's channel switched to the pro bending matches, with a small smile while (Y/N) was finishing off the dinner pouring it into a small bowl and letting the rest rest in the pot waiting for Lin to get home. (Y/N) sat on the couch turning up the radio smiling saying "The Fire Ferrets did really well last match, lets see how they'll do today".

She took a small sip of her broth while listening on into the match " The Buzzard Wasps fly deeper into Ferret territory. And Mako plunges into the pool! Can the Fire Ferrets hold on? The Wasps have the Ferrets backed up to the edge now ... and the Ferrets are bailed out by the bell! They had better pull themselves together for round two, otherwise they can kiss the finals goodbye." (Y/N) hummed in interest resting against the couch a little more, closing her eyes a little to just relax her eyes for a little.

Eventually the match finished and the Fire Ferrets barely won the match, but Immediately after were the reigning champs the Wolf-Bats, (Y/N) never really liked the Wolf-Bats they were big cheaters for one and two they all have an ego big enough that if you jumped off it you'd probably die.Unexpectedly within a few seconds of the match the game was over most likely due to the fact that the other team was being taken out on stretchers, she rolled her eyes saying "I hope Korra and the others get it together to knock them out".

She quietly put away the bowl of soup and headed up towards their room, she changed out into some more comfortable clothes stealing one of Lin's many tank tops with a cheeky smile. She quickly put them all on and leaned against the headrest and just taking in the scent of her girlfriend. With a satisfied sigh (Y/N) got out one of her books, flipping to her bookmarked page and continuing on from there.

-Timeskip-

It had been a couple hours and a couple minutes ago (Y/N) had heard the front door open signalling Lin was finally home, she was currently on another book since she had finished the other. But was just about to put it all away and sleep, so she did just that waiting for her silver haired girlfriend to come upstairs.

The sound of metal shoes knocked against the floor as it slowly approached the bedroom door, a small sigh was heard as Lin entered the darkened room noticing the small lump underneath the blankets. She bent all of her armour off and headed to the other room to quickly take a shower, since today had been quite a work heavy day for her.

(Y/N) just waited patiently as she slowly drifted into and out of sleep, the sound of the water soothing her a little. She didn't even notice the now dressed Lin laying down facing her, (Y/N) with a dopey looking face smiled at her saying "Oh hey Honey" in a tried voice.

Lin smiled at (Y/n) pulling her in for a small kiss on the forehead saying "Hey how was your day off?" She looked down to notice (Y/N) in her tank top letting out a low chuckle, this caught (Y/N)'s attention causing her to blush a little "Wearing my tank top?, did you miss me that much". The nonbender giggle softly "Maybe~"

The Earthbender smiled and rolled her eyes slightly before pulling her in for a small cuddle, (Y/N) yawned a little burying her head into Lin's neck "Rough day?" she asked her curiously, to which Lin smiled rubbing (Y/N)'s back softly "Not really, but it's a lot better now". (Y/N) smiled at her kissing her cheek gently, the non bender yawned a bit more saying "Well I would love to stay up a little longer, but I have work Tomorrow and Chief will have my head if I don't bring my best".

This caused Lin to roll her eyes at (Y/N) playfull, kissing her Temple gently "I get it you're tired, just go to sleep then". (Y/N) chuckled and just slowly drifted to sleep in the Earthbender's arms.

-Timeskip-

(Y/N) leaned against Lin's table in her office just quietly listening to the radio, it was quite early so it was a nice time just to spend some time with each other, (Y/N) watched as Lin was already starting on some paperwork. This caused the nonbender to sigh and said "Hey why don't you talk to me, this is the reason why I'm here. You seemed so excited to last night".

Lin ignored her causing (Y/N)'s eyebrows to furrow in annoyance, she walked behind her chair taking out her dagger, then hanging her arms over the chair and her shoulders playing with the knife boredly. This seemed to get her attention since there was a sharp object near her face and (Y/N) could easily try to stop her from working, so with a defeated sigh she dropped the pen saying "can you please put that away".

(Y/N) hummed and said "No~ I don't think I will", he said with a small grin on her face to which Lin rolled her eyes and quickly disarmed (Y/N) and put the knife back in the right slot on (Y/N)'s uniform. This caused the nonbender to chuckle at their antics but this being cut short by the radio going static for a second but then a voice coming over it.

It was Amon. "Good morning, citizens of Republic City. This is Amon. I hope you all enjoyed last night's pro-bending match, because it will be the last. It's time for this city to stop worshiping bending athletes as if they were heroes. I am calling on the council to shut down the bending arena and cancel the finals, or else there will be severe consequences." This put a shocked face on both of their faces, Lin's face quickly shifted into a face of determination.

(Y/N) quickly moved out of the way of the chair saying "We can't let them close down that Arena", Lin was quick to nod saying "We need to take a stand against those Equalists, for everyone's safety". (Y/N) ran to her office quickly going to grab her War hammers quickly clipping them to her belt wrapped around her waist, she then quickly ran to the police vehicles and met Lin there.

The two got into their respective vehicles and raced off to city hall, she pulled into a parking spot and ran into city hall with Lin, running through the halls all the way to the main conference room, (Y/N) pushed the door's open as Tarrlok said "I'm sorry, but our decision has been made. This meeting is adjourned."

As he picked up the gavel about to hit it down Lin made a split second decision and sent her metal wire towards it and broke it in half, gaining the attention of the whole room as Lin quickly retracted the wire saying "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with the Avatar." This earnt a confused look from most of the council, but also Korra and her crew who were standing near the Council's table.

(Y/N) crossed her arms lightly and said "I expected this kind of cut-and-run response from Tenzin, since he almost always does it ." She walked forward as Lin continued on her sentence "But the rest of you? Come on, show a little more backbone. It's time that the benders of this city displayed some strength and unity against these Equalists.

Tenzin took a deep breath looking at the two explaining "We must prevent the conflict between benders and nonbenders from escalating into all-out war! The council is not changing its position." (Y/N) noticed Tarrlok thinking a little as Tenzin so he quickly said "Now just a moment, Tenzin. Let us hear what our esteemed Chief of Police and force Captain has in mind."

Tenzin grunted and folded his arms grumpily, Lin now stepped forward and stood next to (Y/N). This made (Y/N) smile slightly and took a deep breath as Lin began discussing her plan "If you keep the arena open, my metalbenders and I will provide extra security during the championship match. There's no better force to deal with the chi blockers. Our armor is impervious to their attacks."

Tarrlok looked at her and raised a brow "Are you saying that you both will personally take responsibility for the safety of the spectators in the arena?". (Y/N) nodded and said "We guarantee it", Tarrlok smiled and said " It is hard to argue with Chief Beifong's and Captain (Y/N)'s track record. If they are confident their elite officers can protect the arena, then they have my support. I am changing my vote." He raised his hand and looked to the rest of the council "Who else is with me?"

The other three council members apart from Tenzin raised their hands and Tarrlok looked towards them all "The arena stays open. Good luck in the finals.", the fire ferrets cheered in happiness while Tarrlok wished the two luck. (Y/N) smiled softly but that soon changed when Tenzin walked up to them saying "A word please, both of you.

Tenzin led them to a hall corridor with (Y/N) leaning against the wall "What do you want Arrowhead?",(Y/n) said looking at him uninterestedly he sighed in annoyance and said Tarrlok's playing you both and I don't want to see you two get hurt". (Y/N) was about to respond but Lin put a hand out stopping her "I know what I am doing and so does (Y/N), we know well the risks that come with it."

Tenzin crossed his arms knowing he couldn't convince them both "In that case, I'm going to be by your side during the match." (Y/N) glared at him and said "You know you don't have to babysit us, right Tenzin". He sighed and said "It's for Korra. I want to make sure she's safe." (Y/N) rolled her eyes mumbling "Yeah sure as she walked by him and past Korra, Lin soon joined her and it was evident both of them were now a bit pissed at the Airbending master.

-Timeskip-

As the evening came nearer and nearer (Y/N) ahd the job of sending officers to their positions and debriefing them about that would go down, she held her clipboard firmly as she yelled over the crowd "Okay listen up, tonight we may be attacked by equalists and as our elite metalbending officers I expect you to make sure that does not happen".

All the officers yelled out in sync "YES FORCE CAPTAIN!!!", (Y/N) looked at them with a serious face and said "Damn right you wont, cause if you do I will make sure of it you will be severely punished . Now squadrons 3, 4, 7, 8 and 11 will be up in the skies watching from the blimps, Squadrons 5, 9 and 10 you'll be on the police boats checking the water around the arena and Finally Squadrens 1, 2, 6, 12 and 13 will all be placed around and inside the arena. Am I understood!?" Once again all of them yelled "YES FORCE CAPTAIN" (Y/N) grinned and said "Then get to it ya Skanks!!, Dismissed!"

As soon as she dismissed them they all ran off to their stations and (Y/N) made her way to her vehicle and drove herself to the bending arena, she did a metal check making sure she had absolutely everything on hand before arriving.

She walked in to be met with officers checking all around the area for any hidden contraband, it was early before the match but they couldn't be too careless. Officer Ren was in charge of the officers guarding the arena itself, so he reported straight to (Y/N) saying "We're in the Clear..." (Y/N) nodded to him as she walked towards Tenzin and Lin.

She sighed softly and said "We're in the clear", to which Lin nodded softly at her. Tenzin being paranoid as he is said "They've checked underneath the stands?" "Yes." "And you have enough officers to cover all points of entry?". (Y/N) sighed annoyingly and let Lin handle that one "I have the skies, the bay, and every nook and cranny of this place covered. Now leave us alone and let us do our job."

Tenzing with a saddened expression looked at the two and said " Lin, (Y/N), with so much on the line it would be nice if we could help each other out, at least for one night." (Y/N) raised a brow at this looking towards her girlfriend, her expression softened a little at the airbender saying "Like old times?" This making (Y/N) feel a twinge of Jealousy.

Tenzin smiled at her and repeated it back "Just like old times.", he then looked to (Y/N) with a small smile and Lin following his gaze, (Y/N) sighed and crossed her arms looking away "Fine ArrowHead, just for tonight".

-Timeskip-

The crowd had already sat in their seats as the game began, Tenzin was standing pretty close with Lin talking about things (Y/n) began to feel like she was third wheeling. It bugged her that even after all these years she knew Lin still had feelings for Tenzing deep down, it scared her that one day that like Pema did to her when they were younger, she would steal him back. Forgetting about (Y/N) completely.

She sighed saying to Lin "I'm gonna go do a walk around", Lin looked a little confused saying "Don't you want to watch the match?"(Y/N) put on a fake smile chuckling softly as well "Dont worry about me, I'll be back soon". She waved off her now worried girlfriend and went for a walk around, but as she walked by an entrance it seemed to be unguarded for some reason. She slowly walked towards it before she felt a shock In her back and her body fell limp to the floor.

When she woke up she was tied in rope kneeling on the ground, her weapons having been taken from her she was on sort of platform surrounded by Equalist guards one of them holding her weapons "Ahh so you've finally awoken" a familiar voice said, she looked in front of her stood Amon. She glared at him and said "Damn it, what's going on!!". He chuckled and said "You'll find out in due time".
