Keyleth POV

Its been a day since we've left the tomb and got the first vestige, it was tough but we've manage to get the first one, all we need to do is figure where's the next vestige. Right now, me and YN are gathering some dry wood for the fire. We've decided to split up to gather wood fast until I see YN return with plenty of wood with him.

YN: This should be enough to keep us all warm through the night.

Keyleth: That's good, thanks for helping me by the way.

YN: Anytime.

Just then I felt the wind and it was getting my attention by calling me for some reason until YN interrupted me.

YN: Are you okay?

Keyleth: Oh um, yeah....hey, do you ever miss your home or even your family?

He sigh as we head back to the other with dry woods.

YN: (Admit.) Yeah...well, I've never actually had a home until I arrive Kaer Morhen along with my friends. My previous home was destroyed and I ran away until I fell and lost conscious. Then I woke up in a wagon with the rest of the orphans.

Keyleth: Oh...must've been hard to live through that.

YN: Yeah...what about you? You have families at your home right?

Keyleth: (Smiles.) My family and I are the Air Ashari. But my mother went to Pyrah for her Aramenté when I was young...

YN: Oh, I'm sorry.

Keyleth: Its fine, I think it's just...I miss my family.

YN: (Comforts.) Hey, maybe when this is over, we can always visit your home sometimes.

Keyleth: You and me?

YN: Yeah- (Blushes.) Oh uh, no- I mean all of us, you know, Vox Machina. Yeah, yeah.

I couldn't help but chuckle, he's a good person. While YN goes ahead, I suddenly heard the wind again, enough that I stop for a minute to hear it.

3rd POV

YN returns to the group while Vex is telling how it felt to come back alive while Vax and Percy are seeing up a shelter by the cave.

Vex: And then, whoosh, I was alive again. It really puts life into perspective, you know? I feel more grown, more mature.

Pike: Eh, you look more mature.

Vex: I'm going to take that as a compliment because of how mature I am.

YN: You still look the same to me. In a positive way, I guess.

Vex: Well Vax gets it. Right brother?

Vax: Sure. Whole new perspective.

Suddenly a stick fell and hit Percy head everyone saw Keyleth was distracted.

Pike: Uh, keyleth? Keyleth.

Keyleth woke up and accidentally drop the sticks as she gasp.

YN: You okay, Keyleth?

Keyleth: (Pick up the sticks.) Yeah. Its just, we're so close to Pyrah.

Percy: Is that where you're from?

Keyleth: No, I'm an Air Ashari. The Fire Ashari live there, guarding the rift to the Fire Plane. It was one of the last places my mom was seen alive on her Aramenté.

Her smile then turn to sad when she finished her sentence.

Pike: Oh, Keyleth. I'm so sorry. If we're close to Pyrah, maybe we should go.

Vax: I'd like to, but the people of Tal'Dorei are depending on us.

YN: Come on, Vax, it's Keyleth people we're talking about, not just the people of Tal'Dorei.

Keyleth: No, y-you're right. Its fine. I didn't mean to...I-I'm gonna go get some wood.

Keyleth leaves to go find more wood without saying anything. Pike changed the subject by asking curious about how long has Grog been gone.

Pike: Doesn't take that long to pop a squat.

Percy: This is Grog we're talking about.

Scanlan: I'll go check on him. Here.

Scanlan tosses the broomstick to Vex for the fire, but Vex saw a writing on the broomstick, curious to know what it says until YN speaks.

YN: I know we have the vestiges to find, but can we talk about Grog's new weapon?

Vex: What about it?

YN: We need to find a way to get rid of it.

Vax: Seriously?

YN: Vax, you know what Gilmore said, it radiates dark magic.

Pike: He's right, while we were fighting the adaros, there was something wrong with him while using that. He was going crazy with it.

YN: That vampire bastard was the previous owner of the sword, it drains the victims blood and grows stronger.

Just then they see Grog coming with Scanlan from distance.

YN: Look, this stays between us. Otherwise he'll keep it close to him.

Pike nods in agreement as they come back as well as Keyleth with more wood.

Time skip to nightfall, Vax POV

Everyone's asleep in the warm cave while its snowing outside. I'm still concern about the vestige I'm wearing until I hear an echo and saw a face appear by the fire. After that, I saw visions of the dragons destruction, killing innocent lives and destroying everything in their path.

    I close my eyes and I felt the feathers on the ground. I open my eyes and see some kind of gate, I couldn't see my friends as the gate opens. Once I saw what was beyond e gate, I saw myself dead and the dead that fighten me.

Vax: No! Leave me alone!

3rd POV

Everyone woke up by Vax who's still frighten.

Keyleth: Vax, are-are you okay?

Vax: S-sorry. I must've dozed off. Thought I saw dragons.

Vex: Want me to take over?

Vax: No. Rest. I just need to stretch my legs.

Vax leaves the cave. Once he's in a safe distance, he tries to take off the vestige but failed. As if its glued to his skin.

    Keyleth saw him struggling to take it off and she was worried until.

Keyleth: Do you think he's gonna be fine?

YN: (Sigh.) To be honest, I don't know. But I think the Matron has something to do with him, the vestige did belong to her after all.

She looks down worried about her friend until YN comforts him.

YN: Fate only binds us if we let it. We do what's necessary, not because its written. Even if it means to save everyone we care.

Keyleth nods but still feeling cold, thankfully YN gives her his coat as they both blushes until they head back with the others to rest.

Time skip to morning, Keyleth POV

We travel up to the mountain while its still snowing, but thankfully YN let me wear his coat since he can withstand the cold. Its warm and comfortable for traveling on a snowy day. Just then I hear the winds calling me one more time and showing me where its going.

YN: Everything okay, Keyleth?

Keyleth: Oh, um yeah. Just the wind I guess.

YN: Oh, okay. So um, I get that you're from the Air Ashari, but I'm curious. What's it like at the Fire Ashari?

Keyleth: (Smiles.) The fire Ashari is a nice place, both fire and Air Ashari are good allies. When you think about it, fire needs air to survive.

YN: Ah, so that fire can cook for the fire and Air Ashari.

Keyleth: (Giggles.) You could say that. Huh, maybe they can cook the dragon for you.

We both chuckles until it was cut short by Scanlan passing through us with the broomstick.

Grog: Scanlan, you're a birdie!?

YN: Whoa! Didn't know it can do that.

Scanlan: (Smirks.) Vex, you are missing out.

YN: (To Vex.) What does mean?

Vex: Tch, he's asking for a favor in an exchange for the magic word on the broomstick.

3rd POV

Scanlan: You really have to experience it firsthand to truly- whoa!

Scanlan almost fell by the unbalanced broomstick, but he manage to stable. Just when he was about to continue speaking, he spot a volcano beyond the forest until Vex yells at him.

Vex: Scanlan! I swear to the gods I will restrain your lute with your own pubic hairs!

Vax: We don't have time for this.

Scanlan: Uh, guys, there's a volcano, and it is more pissed off than Vex.

Scanlan comes back down and Keyleth realized what he means.

Keyleth: What!? The volcano is supposed to be dormant.

Scanlan: Yeah? Well, its not.

Vex takes the broomstick away from Scanlan.

Keyleth: No. The rift to the fire plane is there. If its erupting, then Pyrah...the Fire Ashari could be in trouble!

Vax: Then they'll have to deal with it themselves. I'm sorry, Keyleth, but Osysa's instructions were very clear.

Keyleth: Well, uh...Vex?

Vax walks away while Vex was hesitant until Keyleth looks at YN which he can tell she's asking the same question from her eyes.

YN: (Sigh.) Fuck it, I've always wanted to visit, anyway. Let's go!

Without wasting time, Keyleth immediately turns into a giant bird for YN to hop one before they fly to the volcano.

Vex: Keyleth! YN!

Scanlan: Man, you could go after her if you had a flying broom.

Vax: All of Tal'Dorei is in danger. We can't detour every time we see someone in trouble.

Pike: This isn't just someone in trouble. Its her people. And knowing YN, he wouldn't hesitate to help any of us.

Vex: Brother, Keyleth would drop everything to help us. Especially us. And like what YN said, if it was his brother, they wouldn't help any of us unless they're paid.

Vax softly sigh, knowing that she's right about Keyleth and YN. Meanwhile with Keyleth and YN, they're close to the volcano and saw fire creatures flying above the volcano.

YN: Where's the Pyrah?

Keyleth looks down and they see the whole city is being attack by the fire demon creatures. Many people are running away from the flying creatures.

A girl trip and was about to be eaten by one until YN jumps and stabs the creature from above with his silver sword.

YN: Are you okay?

Girl: Look out!

Another attack him from behind, but Keyleth turn back to normal in mid air and dropkick the creature. It retaliate and goes for attack until Keyleth rush in and kicks it before she used her wind to throw it towards YN who immediately cuts it in half.

The girl saw everything that just happened as YN offers her a hand and she accepted it before Keyleth speaks.

Keyleth: Its okay. Get to your family.

Girl: Thank you, both of you.

She runs off to find her mother as Keyleth sees everything that's happening.

Keyleth: Pyrah...

YN: Gods have mercy...

Keyleth hears someone groans in pain near before they went to look who it was and found a group along with Keyleth's dad aka Korrin who is helping the Fire Ashari.

Korrin: Are you okay? (Helps the man up.) More are coming through. We need help!

Keyleth: (Smiles.) Dad?

Keyleth runs off to see her dad while YN catches up.

Korrin: (Surprise.) Keyleth.

They both hug tightly as Keyleth softly laughs joyful to see her dad once again.

Keyleth: I didn't know when I'd see you again.

Korrin: I can't believe you're here. You must have come for your Armamenté.

Keyleth was a bit depressed as they both let go. Soon Korrin notice YN behind her.

Korrin: I see you brought a friends to help.

Keyleth: Oh uh, this is YN. He's a witcher.

Stranger: Uh, a bitcher?

YN: (Sigh.) Witcher. I'm YN, The Dark Wolf. Nice to meet you, though I wish it was in a better circumstances.

Korrin: I wish I can say the same thing right now.

Keyleth: Uh, what did this to Pyrah? There are so many dead.

Korrin: The rift to the Fire Plane was torn open.

Keyleth: That's impossible. Its been secure for generation.

Cerkonos: It was a dragon.

YN: Wait, a dragon?

Cerkonos: Yes, he laid waste to our people.

He coughs from pain as Keyleth and YN look at each other with concern looks before Korrin speaks.

Korrin: You remember Cerkonos?

Keyleth: Of course. Winds watch you, Headmaster.

Cerkonos: And you, Keyleth.

Korrin: I came as soon as I could. But our brothers and sisters were already decimated.

The ground rumbles by the earthquake.

Cerkonos: If we can't find a way to close the rift soon, the fire Dominion will consume ours and remain open forever.

YN: How do we stop it?

Korrin: (Nods.) Keyleth, I need you to come with me. YN, can you watch our backs.

Yn: (Nods.) I can do that.

They head up to the volcano while Korrin explain more of the situation.

Korrin: Normally, the lodestones keep the gateway sealed. But when the dragon destroyed them, the rift was torn open.

YN: This dragon must've did it so that they wouldn't go after him.

Once they're at the top of the volcano, they see a massive rift.

Korrin: Those beasts have been coming through in waves while the firetamers hold them back.

Keyleth: How do we close the rift?

Korrin: By controlling the flames themselves. The two of us.

Keyleth: (Worried.) Dad, I-I don't know if I-

Korrin: (Smiles.l We're lucky you came. You've been on your Armamenté. Your mastery of fire must be far beyond ours.

Keyleth: Uh, you would think.

Korrin: The firetamers need our magic to seal it.

Korrin goes ahead while Keyleth hesitates, doubting that she can do it until YN comforts her with a smile.

YN: It'll be fine. I always believe in you.

Keyleth nods before they head down to the rift. They see a few people doing their best while one of them is defending the rest. To their surprising, Keyleth and YN saw Allura and Kima.

Kima: More of these fuckers?

Korrin: I brought help!

Kima: Huh? No freaken way. Keyleth and YN?

Keyleth: Kima? Allura.

Keyleth hugs Allura, relief to see them alive.

YN: We thought you guys died at the Clouldtop.

Allura: We're very much alive. Where's the rest of your team?

YN: We got here faster while the rest are on their way. They could've been here about-

???: 🎶 Lets crank up the heat! 🎶

They see Scanlan floating from a distance with his magic hand and taking out the creatures.

YN: Well, about now.

Keyleth: (Relief.) Scanlan.

Allura: Keyleth, if we fetch your friends, can you buy us some time?

Keyleth: I mean, we can certainly try.

YN: We'll need all the help.

Allura nods before she teleports with Kima to Vex and Pike who are fighting the demons.

YN: Huh, so that's how they survived.

Keyleth: But why were they here?

YN: We'll think about that later, focus on the task in front of us. I'll buy you two time as long as I can.

Keyleth POV

I nods and joins my dad near the rift.

Korrin: Come. Stay close.

We came close enough to the rift as the heat gets hotter. But deep down I'm still doubting if I can do it.

Korrin: All right, Keyleth, this is it.

Keyleth: No, I-I can't, I can't do it.

Korrin: Of course you can. You're strong enough as your mother. (Comforts.) Maybe stronger.

A demon attacks us from above but YN shielded us with his magic.

YN: Don't worry, I got your backs. Just focus on the sealing!

My dad nods and kiss my head before he prepare his magic to try to seal the rift.

Korrin: Now!

I use my wind magic against the rift, creating huge ice to block the rift.

Korrin: Yes. Good work Keyleth!

It was then cut short by the heat destroying the ice.

Keyleth: (Eyes widen.) Oh, no.

YN: Get close!

My dad and I got close and he quickly use shield magic to protect us from the impact. He was struggling at first until my dad used wind to help YN shield.

Korrin: Careful.

YN: More of them are coming out of the rift!

YN quickly drinks his black elixer as the demon landed in front of us from the rift. We manage to take out some of them but a few got out and killed the others who were holding the rift. Without them, the rift gots better.

Korrin: Damn it, its widening!

My dad struggles to hold the rift by himself and more of the creatures tries to stop them. YN got in front of me but suddenly Grog appear and took them out with his sword.

YN: Bout time you guys show up.

3rd POV

Grog clears a path  and joins with the others that are fighting the creatures off.

Craven edge: I hunger!

Grog: What? They don't got no blood!

Craven edge: Then find me some...now!

The sword pointed Pike who's fighting the demons off. Thankfully he was interrupted by one attacking him. Vex is having trouble fighting them since there's too many and that they can fly.

Vex: (Grunts.) I need higher ground!

Scanlan: (Grunts.) Okay, fine. It's "Volantire!"

Vex: Volantire?

Suddenly the broomstick floats up as she hold on to it. She was finally relief that she can use it now.

Vex: (Grin.) That's more like it.

Vex wasted no time but to shoot them down. Meanwhile close to the rift, Korrin is still struggling to hold the rift while Keyleth and YN fight of any that gets close.

Korrin: We're loosing control!

Allura: Everybody, gather around!

Allura and Pike helps Keyleth and her father to seal the rift while Kima, YN, and Scanlan defends the sealers group.

YN POV

We do our best to defend the sealing group but there was just to many. One of those creatures shoots a fireball at Kima's shoulder as she grunts in pain. But then everything when slow, my instinct force me to look back and I saw another once blasted a fireball at one of the groups.

    I saw where its shooting and who it'll hit. I didn't have enough time to create a magic shield and without even thinking, my body move on its own and push Keyleth dad away before the fireball hit my chest as it knocks me back.

Keyleth POV

I hear YN yelling in pain and look before my eyes widen to see the burns on his chest.

Keyleth: YN!

I quickly help him while he's holding his chest where it burns as his eyes are turning back to cat-like eyes.

Keyleth: Pike!

Pike: Oh, no. I got him!

Pike quickly heals him as tears are escaping
