{ Ashton }

Today Riley gets to have visitors. He's going to be very excited when Uncle Luke shows up. We've found that Luke seems to be his favorite.

I woke up fairly early and headed down to get Tate and me coffee. As I stood in line, I noticed two young girls looking at me. I smiled once I saw their 5SOS hoodies. I got my coffees and walked over and sat with them.

"Hi there" I smiled.

"Hi" the blonde one smiled back.

"Is Riley here?" The brunette asked.

"He is" I answered, "What are your names?" I asked.

"I'm Lacey and this is a Payton" the brunette answered. I smiled.

"Payton was going to be Riley's name if he was a girl" I laughed.

"How is he doing? Is he okay?" Payton asked.

"He's doing good. He doesn't like being in the bed but he's got to deal with it" I answered as I saw Tate walk in. She spotted me and walked over and sat and I passed her coffee.

"Who might these two be?" She asked and put her hand on my thigh under the table.

"Lacey and Payton" I pointed to each of them.

"Aww. Payton was going to be RiRi's name" she gushed. I smiled and rested my hand on top of hers.

"What are you girls doing here?" Tate asked.

"Our brother. He got in a wreck. We should be done by noon" Lacey told us. As I was about to respond, the pager in Tate's pocket went off which meant we had to get back to the room.

"It was nice meeting you girls. I hope to see you at a show" I smiled and Tate and I headed back to Riley.

Riley was awake and determined to move around. We are just waiting for a doctor to come in to see if we can let him.

"Riley, please calm down baby" Tate begged as she rocked him in her arms. I sighed and glanced out the door and saw his doctor walking down.

"I'm so sorry. I got caught in another room. How is he doing?" He asked following me inside the room.

"Wants to move" I laughed.

"That's fine. I'll unhook a few things and he can get up and move around" he explained as he unhooked a bunch of wires.

As soon as the wires were unhooked, Riley all but jumped out of Tate's arms. I grabbed him and put him on his feet as he walked around.

"I'm impressed. Two days after open heart surgery and he's walking around" the doctor smiled, "If he gets worn out just put him back in bed and call so we can get him back on machines" he smiled and left the room.

"Do you know what time everyone's coming?" Tate asked as she took a video of me and Riley walking around.

"Mike said he and the boys are coming around noon. The girls probably after them. Our family is on the way" I informed. She nodded and put her phone down.

A few minutes later the door opened and our family walked in.

"Oh my goodness" Beth grinned as she crouched when Riley went to her.

"He's already up?" My mom questioned.

"He was determined to walk around this morning" Tate laughed and wrapped her arms around my waist.

"Is he in any pain?" Beth asked as she held him.

"Yesterday he was and just a little earlier but that's it" I answered.

We were all sitting around and Harry was sitting on the bed playing cars with Riley. Riley's attached to Harry. Since Harry came and brought all of mine and his old cars from when we were little, Riley won't leave him.

"Mama" Riley began to whine. The pain was coming back.

"Dada" he then started crying.

"Is he okay?" Lauren panicked as Harry jumped off the bed.

"He's just in a little pain," I told her as Tate went and grabbed the nurse.

The nurse got him back on the IV and he went to sleep.

"We will head out now. Call us if you need anything" my mom smiled, kissing my head.

Tate and I were able to get a little sleep before our friends came in and got Riley hyper. Luke was a bit nervous to touch Riley. He was scared to hurt him. But he couldn't deny when Riley repeated "Wu" over and over.

"So he's doing okay?" Sierra asked.

"Yeah, he's doing amazing" Tate grinned, holding my hand in her lap.

"He's definitely a little fighter then" Crystal laughed.

"Are they concerned that his heart stopped?" Calum spoke up as he and Michael joined our conversation since Riley had hogged Luke.

"A little but it happens. It happened during his first surgery more than once but he recovers from it fast" I shrugged.

"He's still going to be home for Christmas right?" Emma questioned as she glanced at Riley in Luke's lap.

"Oh yeah. OOO I bought him the cutest pajamas for his first Christmas!" Tate perked. I laughed.

"It was the first thing she showed me" I joked.

"And Uncle Luke's job is done" Luke grinned as he got off the bed and away from Riley who was asleep.

"Actually now he won't sleep tonight" I smirked.

"Whatever. He's asleep now so in my mind it's a success" he rolled his eyes.

"Yeah yeah" Tate groaned and let a yawn out and settled against my shoulder.

"We'll head out. Tate's bout ready to fall asleep" Michael laughed.

"Thanks for coming by guys" I smiled.

"Let us know if you need anything" Calum called as they all walked out.

As soon as the door closed, I lifted Tate on my lap and she settled her head against me.

"I can't wait to sleep in our bed" she mumbled. I laughed and kissed her head,

"Me too baby".

"I also can't wait to be home then I can kiss you and not worry about people watching me" she giggled. I had to chuckle at that. She's been very clingy and very loving lately. I guess we hadn't gotten much "us" time in considering our family was all there when I got home.

Things have definitely changed in that aspect of our life. Now with a kid, we haven't really been that close. Of course, we still love each other and we're staying together but we've got priorities now and Riley is the biggest one. The week of Michael's wedding is going to be nice for us I think. It gives us a chance to be alone for a while with each other.

Tate passed out in minutes. She was still on my lap and her arms wrapped tightly around my one. I carefully moved to lay us both down and continued holding her close to me.

{ Tate }

When I woke up, I saw Calum and Emma. They came back later and brought Ashton and me dinner. I was grateful. The food here was getting gross. While we ate, Emma perked up quickly.

"I forgot to tell you, our business has been approved by the board so we can start" Emma grinned and the two boys just looked at us. Emma and I have been creating a business since junior year in high school. We've gone through everything and all we needed was our company name to be available and approved and the small business board to sign for us.

"Who's going to tell me and Ash what's going on?" Calum asked. Emma explained everything about our company, MiamiCo.

"I guess I got to get a new IPad now" I laughed.

"Why?" Ashton asked.

"One, your kid pushed it off the high chair and it shattered. Two, I want the big one so it's easier for our business" I told him.

"What's your company doing?" Calum asked.

"We're selling swimsuits and stuff" I answered.

"Can we model?" Ashton raised his hand.

"Of course. You'd be a hot model" I winked. Calum groaned and rolled his eyes.

"You can model too Cal" Emma smirked.

Calum and Emma left really late. Ashton and I didn't mind though. We liked talking to people who weren't under the age of 5.

< Monday >

Today we're going home. Riley's done absolutely amazing and Ashton and I are so ready to be home with our little boy.

Much like we did the day we brought Riley home the first time, I sat in the back with him while Ashton drove.

"He's okay right?" Ashton kept asking.

"Yes babe. He's fine. He's playing with his lion" I laughed.

"Just making sure" he breathed as we came to a red light. I leaned up and kissed the side of his neck.

"Stop worrying. He's fine" I assured him. He nodded and drove forward once the light turned green.

When Ashton and I got home, there was a note for us on the counter.

Ash and Tate,
We headed out for a while so you guys get some well deserved family time

"That was sweet" I smiled.

"They're gone" Ashton smirked.

"Put the baby to bed and maybe we can make some good use of time" I winked.

Ashton was back to me in record time and eagerly kissed me.

"Jump" he demanded and I obeyed my lips attaching to his neck and shoulder.
