"Where are you going?" called a voice.

Kusuo and I looked over our shoulder to see a big pain in the ass. Nendou was tailing us.

"None of your concern," Kusuo muttered.

"You're not staying for the party? Why not~" Nendou whined.

"We're just going for a walk."

"Leaving so soon?" asked Hairo, suddenly alongside Nendou.

"We'll be back," Kusuo huffed, grabbing my hand. I nearly fell over when he started running.

"That's weird; where did they go?" I heard them ask after we were a few yards away. They still should have been able to see us, but I figured Kusuo used invisibility. He stopped abruptly and I nearly fell forwards.

"I didn't know you were a track star," I grumbled as I yanked my hand back to steady myself. I was almost out of breath meanwhile Kusuo was chilling.

"You're that out of shape? That's sad," he remarked.

"I said some of us don't have powers like you." I lied.

"Excuses excuses."

Before I could say anything more, I noticed we were somehow already at Cafe Mami's.

"So we did run far," I huffed. "No wonder I'm out of breath."

"No, idiot, we didn't run far. I just teleported us here."

My jaw dropped open. Talk about embarrassing... We walked in and took a seat.

"On a date?" a maid asked us. She gave me a wink. Anna was her name; she was one of my co workers who taught me the custom greeting. She also tried to teach me how to wash dishes, but I was the one who taught her instead.

"No." Kusuo and I were in unison.

"Sure~" she said, drawing her words out like she was in disbelief.

"The usual?" she asked Kusuo. He nodded and I ordered the same.

"Are you sure you don't want to share? These cups are pretty rich."

I glared at her and she took the hint to walk away.

"Why'd you really want to come here?" Kusuo asked me once the coast was clear.

I had something I wanted to ask him, but I wasn't sure how it would go over. If he really had psychic super powers, this shouldn't be so hard. Still, I was having a hard time with the debate of actually asking it. "Well... why not?"

"Don't lie that you're only here for the coffee jelly. You can't lie to a psychic, you know."

"Well... I wanted you to..." I trailed off, unsure.

"Well, you want...?" He pushed, motioning for me to hurry up. Waters were delivered and he picked a glass up and drew a sip from it.

"Teach me!" I blurted.

Water gushed out of Kusuo's mouth as he hacked and coughed, taken aback.

"What?" he snapped, wiping his mouth with the napkins I ripped from a holder. "I thought you didn't have powers."

I sighed. I'd been debating telling him all night... but now I knew. Kusuo Saiki had super powers. Well, not quite super. If he couldn't predict the future that was kind of lame. Bending a spoon wouldn't save us from the troubles of the world, but you get what I'm saying. If he had been living with his powers since his birth, he should know how to control them. He was good enough to know something was up with me right off the bat. He must have learned to control his powers and use them responsibly.

I, on the other hand, have been suffering with mine. In case you haven't picked up on this, I have other powers than telepathy. I suppress them often, which is why you won't see me act upon them. I pretend like I don't have them, but under extreme circumstances they always end up escaping, hence the Aiura situation.

If Kusuo could help me possibly control my powers... maybe I wouldn't have to worry so much.

I glanced back at him. He was staring at me with that same dull, unreadable expression. I shook my head and drew a breath. I was being to rash- but I had to play it off. I didn't expect him to be so shocked. Maybe this was a mistake.

"I mean- show me. I want to see more of your powers.?"

He squinted his eyes at me but I looked away.

"I literally just showed you... like yesterday." He leaned closer. "What were you really asking? Teach you? To do what?"

Of course I knew it wouldn't slide past him that easily. I backed up before he got too close.

"Stop testing me," I snapped. "You always exceed your boundaries."

"Oh?" he muttered, backing up and crossing his arms. "It seemed like you really wanted something. Pardon me for wondering."

"Don't overreact." I blandly stated, glaring at his nonchalant state. I'd have to be careful to never ask him for anything.

"You're the one who's getting red." Kusuo rolled his eyes and muttered that stupid catch phrase of his. "Does close contact really startle you like that?"

"Don't think you made me flustered," I told him. My cheeks were only red because of anger. He provoked me only in that way.

"No, sure."

Our coffee jellies arrived and I was happy to finally be able to try it. No Riki Nendou was here to stop me. It was all mine. At least I thought so-

Kusuo Saiki swiped my jelly.

"Saiki-"

"Kusuo-kun," He corrected, "not so fast. We almost got somewhere. Tell me what you were going to say."

"But-"

"Or I will eat this. I'm not afraid to." He scooped a chunk out of the jelly and held it inches from his mouth, as if testing me for the 282828th time. "Test you on what?"

"Are you gonna freak out and choke on your water like last time?"

"What a pain. No, go ahead. I'm ready."

I folded my hands and sighed. My thumbs winded around each other anxiously. It was embarrassing to be asking stuff from him. I leaned forward. The store was empty, but of course I didn't want to blurt this out.

"So you've  lived your entire life with these powers, right?"

"Yes..." He looked away and the corners of his lips rose. "I'm not a superhero, you know. My powers didn't just appear after some freak accident. I've had a normal life just as anyone else."

"Yeah, I'm sure. But you've managed to stay hidden, even with that blazing pink hair of yours-"

"Just get to the point."

"I just don't understand how you can have the social life that you do while also carrying the weight of having explosive powers."

"First of all, I don't have a social life. I've been trying to stay alone the entirety of my life, yet this school has been my curse. I don't choose to interact with the morons of P.K. Academy; they just drag me into shit." His expression darkened and he took an aggressive bite out of the coffee jelly. My hands crept to the other untouched cup slowly.

"Not so fast," he snapped, "continue with your question."

I retracted my hand and groaned. "I just want to know how you control your powers. Like, let's just say I hypothetically have powers. Like, maybe I'm having a hard time controlling them. How do I, hypothetically, control these hypothetical powers?"

He leaned forward and pierced my soul with his purple eyes. "That's an awful lot of 'hypothetical's."

I took his interrogational gaze as a chance to swipe my coffee jelly back. It wobbled softly once safe, back in my arms. "I win." Finally I got a chance to eat the coffee jelly. My spoon dug cleanly into the precious dessert, scooping up a sweet portion of the jelly. I lifted the spoon to my mouth, and then-

Nothing. It disappeared out of my hands. I looked up and my jaw dropped. Kusuo had my exact spoon and coffee jelly.

"I can teleport things too."

"Kusuo!" I hissed. "Give it back or I'm not continuing."

He slid the cup back to me reluctantly. "Fine, just hurry up. You're getting too distracted by it."

"Says you! You're the one fiddling with your empty cup. Stop sliding that spoon around the rim, by the way, it's really annoying."

He dropped his spoon with a look of guilt shading his face. Now it was time to cut to the chase.

"Okay. Kusuo, I really need help with controlling my... emotions."

"Alright, but only on one condition."

"What is it?"

"You have to call me Sensei."
