I sensed footsteps belonging to a certain psychic female. A blue haired perfectionist accompanied her. They must be getting ready for the party. I wondered what Y/n was going to wear... I almost used clarvoyance but realized they were probably undressing as we spoke, and I wasn't desperate to the level of Toritsuka. I didn't care, anyways. How would Y/n's choice of clothing effect me? It wouldn't.

Still, the thought of perverts like Reita eyeing her all night did irritate me a bit, but it didn't mean anything. What was I saying? Good grief, the ghost-whisperer's possessive habits must have gotten to me. I wondered how Teruhashi was treating her...

"I've had enough of this!" blurted Kaidou. I guess he'd grown sick of the 'terrifying' soda commercial.

"Are you really scared of a soda ad?" questioned Nendou, pushing his way into the frail boy's personal bubble.

"N-no, of course not! I'm just... I sense a dark force from this channel. The dark reunion must be hypnotizing you fools! We must turn this off before it infects us all and we become mindless minions."

His Chunibyo delusions are back at it again. Kuboyasu was about to interject but a knock on the door prevented him. Yumehara Chiyo and and Mera Chisato had just arrived.

I sure hope Kaidou likes this dress! Yumehara thought. Mera's thoughts were, as always, occupied with food. I wonder if they have cheesecake...

"Howdy!" shouted Nendou, slinging the door wide open. The door hit a picture on the wall and it fell down, shattering the frame. Takahashi rushed in from the kitchen with frosting on his lip. "Eating so soon?" interrupted Mera as he was screaming at Nendou. "Where's the food? What is there to eat? Can I eat?"

"Don't mind Chisato," stuttered Yumehara, struggling to restrain her rabid friend. "We'll just head upstairs to finish getting ready with Kokomi and Y/n." Mera retreated upstairs, still screaming for food in her internal thoughts.

"When will the rest of the people get here?" asked Kaidou. Takahashi shrugged but gave an estimate of 45 minutes.

"Where's Toritsuka?" asked Nendou, noticing only one purple haired guy was here. The creep disappeared unnoticed. Suddenly I heard some commotion upstairs and got an uncomfortable feeling.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" screamed a girl. We all looked upstairs and heard clattering and commotion.

"YOU FUCKING CREEP!"

I sighed. It was Reita Toritsuka. Of course he had slipped away from us to try to sneak a peek of the girls changing. Why wasn't I surprised? Good grief. He was really starting to irritate me.

"I'll save you!" shouted Kaidou as he dashed upstairs, holding his hand to his eye. Kuboyasu backed him up, shouting for Teruhashi. I was tempted to hit Reita again, but I could safely see the scene from downstairs. I hoped he didn't touch Y/n.

"I'm sorry!" screeched Toritsuka, scrambling down the stairs.

"What the hell were you doing!?" demanded Kuboyasu, catching the perp and holding him by his collar, fist raised.

"Yeah! Were you bothering the girls?!" piped in Kaidou, curling his fists into a ball.

"N-no! I'm sorry! I was looking for the bathroom and accidentally walked in on them!" Toritsuka stuttered for excuses. His face was red with shame. I sighed, somewhat relieved- he was telling the truth.

"It's down here you idiot!" Takahashi snapped, pulling him to the correct room.

"You're lucky we were ready!" huffed Yumehara, stepping out of the room with her arms crossed. She was wearing a casual pink dress with a matching pink headband.

"Wow~" exclaimed Kaidou, "you look pretty, Chiyo!"

"You really think so?!" Yumehara's eyes widened, and she beamed. Her lips quivered and her knees shook. This girl was a wreck. Mera appeared behind her and caught her before she fainted from delight. She was wearing her school uniform.

Takahashi questioned her on it, and she said she didn't have enough money for any other clothes. "I sold them so I could pay for a bowl of ramen," she explained. That didn't seem like an equal trade.

Teruhashi stepped out. She wore a pretty doll-ish dress. I don't know how to explain it- I'm a guy for God's sake.

"Oh wow," exclaimed all four boys standing in her presence.

"It's not too extra is it?" she asked, rubbing the back of her head. It was a little extra. The morons' heart rates were sky rocketing and they could have fainted at any moment. Then again, Kokomi's beauty would make anything seem extra.

"N-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-no, it's perfect," stuttered Kaidou. Yumehara's head drooped, her mood immediately changed by the difference of reaction.

After Teruhashi's beautiful aura vanished, Y/n appeared behind her. She was wearing a casual dress that wouldn't particularly catch anyone's eye. Still, I noticed how it revealed her small waist and amplified her femininity. Her hair fell off her shoulders in shiny waves and her bangs were curled away from her face, framing it a little too perfectly. All of their make up was casual, but it gave a certain charm to Y/n's that only I seemed to notice.

"How does Y/n look?" said Teruhashi, displaying her creation proudly. "She says she's never used makeup before! Can you believe that?" piped Yumehara.

"I did her hair!" said Mera. She must have neglected her own, because it was still in her usual braids.

"Oh," whispered the boys. Good. I still got the bigger reaction!  thought Teruhashi. She seemed pleased enough. Still no reaction from Saiki though... How do I make him say 'oh'?

What a pain. I wish she'd just give it up already. The door bell rang and they all rushed down to greet the rest of the guests. I slowed behind the group to talk to Y/n.

"Toritsuka didn't bother you, did he?" I had to make sure. She gave me a weird look.

"Why do you care, Kusuo? You seem to be getting awfully protective. You have a little crush on me, don't you?"

I rolled my eyes. "Don't be ridiculous. I just don't want the perv to continue his old habits. Besides, who's the one calling me by my first name?"

"Kusuo, can we sneak out?" she asked suddenly, stopping to face me. I was taken back.

"What, why?"

"I hate parties. I hate social interaction. You hate parties. You hate social interaction." She reached out for my hand like she was trying to plead. I pulled it away from her.

"Yeah I hate social interaction. What makes you think I'd want to interact with you alone?"

Her jaw dropped. "Kusuo~ I'm better than everyone here anyways. Plus, I want to learn about your powers. You always bug me about knowing my secrets, but why would I tell you in a crowd of morons?"

"Sorry I'm late!" announced Hairo very loudly. He carried a few randos on his back. "I had to carry these guys' car to the automobile shop after it broke down. Then I helped a kid find his mom. And an elderly woman find her home. These guys helped me make it here!"

It seemed like the opposite. He was carrying them on his back. Plus- he was exactly on time. That guy was the definition of an over-achiever.

"They are idiots," I agreed with Y/n. "But Takahashi has coffee jelly here..."

"Oi, Saiki!" shouted Nendou, looking up at us. "We're going to start the activities! Wanna join?"

Knowing the activities included Twister, outside activities, karaoke, and other social games, I really did not want to. Even coffee jelly wasn't enough for me to stay. Besides, they now had a bunch of other guests so slipping out would be easy enough.

"Why'd you get dressed if you didn't plan to stay?" I asked Y/n. She sighed.

"It's not like Ihad a choice. Rejecting Teruhashi was literally impossible."

"True," I said. I looked around. The party was in the living room and kitchen now, helping themselves to some snacks. I really wanted to catch some coffee jelly before it was gone. Sure, they were in cheap packaged cups, but coffee jelly was coffee jelly.

"They're all gone now," said Y/n, who was suddenly downstairs. I was so focused on this situation I hadn't noticed she'd moved.

"What's all gone?" I asked, meeting her. A bead of sweat raced down my cheek as I felt for the presence of coffee jelly and sensed none.

"Want to go to Cafe Mami's?" asked Y/n. I sighed. "Good grief. If there's no coffee jelly, it's not worth it for me to be here anyways."

We left the party. It was good to get outside away from all of the loud thoughts constantly bombarding my head anyways. Besides, like she said, maybe she would open up about her abilities now. Considering she hadn't been too shocked to find out about my powers, I was almost sure she had psychic powers herself.

I looked over to see her rubbing her head. "Are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah. I just get headaches when I'm around a lot of people."

Yeah, I was sure.

. . . . . . . . .

A/n: thanks for reading!! Almost 5k reads already- wow. I wasn't grounded yet so I decided to update for you lovelies. Please be patient: romance will only intensify from here on. I hope you guys don't mind the fact that this is sort of a slow burn. I wanted to include all of the characters and make them round because this is a fanfiction of this anime, not just one character. Please comment feedback on this. I am assuming this book will be around 30-50 chapters, but I don't want to make it too long. Because I'm such a perfectionist, I really can't stand for fast romance stories especially since Saiki falling for the m/c fast is not cannon and I'd like it to be as realistic as possible. I also want to integrate the characters powers with the romance so the plot is still relevant. Can you tell me what I need to work on? Am I being too repetitive? Is this story too boring to continue? I listen to every one of my comments, so thank you all for your support. Have a rare Saiki pic <3
