"On the 23rd day of the month September, in a early year not too long before our own, the human race suddenly encountered a deadly threat to its very existence. And this terrifying enemy surfaced as such enemies often do, in the seemingly most innocent, and unlikely of places...."
The sun rise was a bright one indeed, and it didn't help your eyes adjust to the new day at all. But the day was calling, and you needed to get up.
Eventually, you got dressed and went to the kitchen and grabbed your breakfast again. It was the same thing over and over again. Not that it was a totally bad thing. You just wished things were back to normal. Ever since Zim landed on Earth your whole life became an odd world with no escape. You just had to adjust to it or honestly there was no way you were gonna live. "Hey Honey!" Your mom said ruffling your hair. "It's almost time to go, so hurry it up kiddo." You finished your breakfast, grabbed your backpack, and put on your coat. "Don't leave yet hun!" Your mother gave you a kiss on the forehead and bid you goodbye before you went out the door.
This time you had decided to ride your bike to skool, and that's exactly what you did. It was the start of another day.
Then You go
Downtown
Where the folks are broke
You go downtown
Where your life's a joke
You go downtown
When you buy your token
You go
Home to Skid Row
Yes you go
Downtown
Where the cabs don't stop
Downtown
Where the food is slop
Downtown
Where the hop-heads flop
in the snow
Down on Skid Row
Uptown you cater to a million jerks.
Uptown you're messengers and
mailroom clerks
eating all your lunches at the
hot dog carts
The bosses take your money
And they break your hearts
Uptown you cater to a million whores
You disinfect terrazzo on their
bathroom floors
Your morning's tribulation,
afternoon's a curse
And five o'clock is even worse
At recess, you sat on the steps watching Zim and Dib bickering again. This was pretty normal in your daily schedule. It annoyed you though, your life could be so much easier if you just got new friends, if Zim was even considered a friend. You sighed looking at the buildings in the distance, clutching your books.
"Downtown
Where the guys are drips.
Downtown
Where they rip your slips
Downtown
Where relationships are no go
Down on Skid Row."
The day finally passed, but you had try to ignore the bullies about your anxiety bunny in the hallway. They still weren't over this stupid plushie. Dib got the short end of the stick however. He was just as tired of this as you were.
"That's your home address, you live
Downtown
When your life's a mess, you live
Downtown
Where depression's just status quo
Down on Skid Row."
Soon enough, you and Dib had made it home walking together. You plopped onto your bed, looking at the ceiling thinking about things. Little did you know Dib was doing the same thing.
"Gee it sure would be swell to get outta here
Bid the gutter farewell and get outta here
I'd move heaven and hell to get outta Skid
I'd do I don't know what to get outta Skid
But a hell of a lot to get outta Skid.
People tell me there's not a way outta Skid
But believe me I gotta get outta Skid
Row!"
As you laid on the bed some more, your phone rang. "Hello?"
"Y/N! You have to come over, I've been meaning to show you something." You raised an eyebrow. "Like what?" You asked skeptically. "I can't explain it here, just come." He hung up, and you had tell your parents you were leaving again.
Thankfully that got settled and you rode your bike to his house, and getting greeted by an antsy Dib leading you to his bedroom. "Ok, so here it is!" He picked up a large coffee tin, that had the most peculiar plant inside. "What is that?" You asked. "Well, it looks like some kind of Venus Fly Trap, but it isn't. I did all the research I could." He said looking down at the plant. "What do you call it?" Dib looked up again. "I call it Y/N 2..." You paused a bit. "A-after me?"
"I-I hope you don't mind." You looked at him with a hand over your chest. "Where did you get it?" You asked eagerly.
"Well, you remember that Total Eclipse of the Sun a few weeks ago?"
(A/N: Hey Guys! So I thought I might try something kinda different, based on a musical/movie I adore. So with saying that, I own nothing, and I'm merely just praising it and using it as a diehard fan. Please let me know what you think and if you want more parts. And Happy Halloween!)
