Adam takes a small sip from his wine glass, his eyes focused on the things in front of him. There is a tablet that's displayed on a phone stand in front of him and a few documents scattered across the kitchen island.

It had been about a month and a half since Noah proposed to him, and since Noah had already spent so much money on a ring, he requested that he plan the wedding. It was also something he really wanted to do, and he can't afford to disappoint Noah.

He finishes the wine and lowers the tall glass as he returns to his work, there is still a lot he needs to prepare, his eye lids are getting heavy but he doesn't want to stop yet.

He rubs his tired, sore eyes and yawns heavily. Noah had tucked him in bed earlier but he ended up sneaking away to continue planning when Noah had fallen asleep.

He knows he shouldn't have, but he feels like time is running out, dispite the fact that there's still two and a half months before the planned wedding.

Over the last few months, thanks to Alejandro, his position at work has become higher. He eventually escaped Dominic's control and is now the manager of his own department. When he eventually marries Noah, he's thinking of starting his own business.

He shakes his head at the distracting thoughts, maybe he's too tired. He can barely keep his eyes open, maybe this is enough for now.

He tidies up the mess he made and opens the door to his, or should he say their bedroom. Over time, his house has become a space for both of them. He is happy that Noah chose to stay at his house, he feels a little guilty for making Noah abandon his old home, but he prefers that they stay at his.

He sits at the edge of his side of the bed, he can see Noah sleeping soundly, his back faced to Adam. He lies down and closes his tired eyes, finally getting some rest.

•~•~•~•

Today should have been a good day, he had planned to spend his morning with Noah peacefully and eventually return to planning their wedding. But all his previous plans were postponed.

Adam opens his sore grey eyes, his eye lashes flutter gently. The overs his face from the bright sunlight coming from the window, the first thing he feels is nausea. Followed by a dizzy sensation and a raw feeling in his throat.

He swallows hard, trying to suppress his urge to vomit. He feels terrible, he covers his entire body with the blanket and closes his eyes again.

He's about to fall back asleep when he feels someone stroke his covered shoulders, he lowers the blanket to see Noah chuckling. A smile radiating from his handsome face, his morning would have been really good if this was the first thing he woke up to.

"Good Morning, Honey."

Noah greets him, his tone is still a bit sleepy but he seems to be really overjoyed. Adam forces a weak smile at is fiance's early greeting.

He should probably respond, but his throat is too sore. He tries to suppress a cough, not wanting to make Noah worried. Or let him find out what he has been doing all night.

"Good, Morning.."

His voice comes out horse and dry, as if he swallowed a cheese grater. Noah frowns, he must have noticed how bad his voice is.

"Are you okay, Adam? Your voice.."

Noah gives him a worried expression, but Adam just shakes his head and says he's fine. Not believing his obvious lies, Noah strokes his hair gently. Not wanting to pressure him, Noah lets the topic go. He kisses Adam's forehead gently, but he immediately pulls away as soon as his lips make contact with Adam's forehead.

His frown deepens, he sits up, Adam also does the same. Confused why Noah looks so serious. Noah begins rummiging the night stand's cabinet, looking for something.

"You're burning up, I can't ignore it any longer."

Noah says with a firm tone, he finally finds the small first aid kit that he keeps for Adam's late night finger injuries. He searches it, but he doesn't find whatever he's looking for. He gets up, Adam is about to follow him, but Noah stops him, telling him to sit back.

Noah goes into the bathroom, Adam anxiously waits for him. He isn't sure why Noah looks so serious, but right now, that isn't his main concern. The room is spinning, and he just feels terrible.

Noah returns with something in his hand, something that looks similar to the shape of a gun. Though it has a flat top with a small screen. Adam finally realizes what it is.

"Hold still."

Noah turns the device on and points it at Adam's forehead, after a few seconds, they hear a 'beep' sound.

Noah checks the small screen, his eyes widen slightly, before his eye brows furrow in worry. He looks at Adam and places a gentle hand on Adam's forehead.

"37.6°C, you have a fever."

Noah says, kissing his forehead. Adam just nods, he honestly didn't hear most of what Noah said, but one thing is clear. He's sick.

Actually, this isn't surprising, since he often got sick back when he was younger. But he thought it stopped when he reached adulthood, but it seems not.

"Does your head hurt?"

Noah asks with a clearly worried voice, Adam can immediately tell that he's worrying. He has to calm Noah down before he starts panicking. He pats him gently on the shoulder before placing a soft kiss on Noah's nose bridge.

"Don't, cough worry about me. I can handle myself.. cough"

Noah bites his lip at Adam's dry coughs, Adam immediately forces Noah's teeth and lip apart with his thumb, not wanting him to hurt his precious lips.

"Maybe, I should cough sleep in another room.. I don't want you getting sick.."

Adam says, as he tries to get up, Noah presses him down. Insisting he stays put.

"No way! You are sick, I don't want you being alone. I'm okay, I have good health, it's better if I take care of you."

Noah insists, a pleading expression on his puppy like face. Adam let's put a small laugh, followed by some coughing at his lover's cute demoneor.

"How about we wash up and I make you some breakfast?"

Noah says. Then, he slips his arms below Adam's tighs and back and picks him up bridal style. Flushed, Adam nuzzles his face closer to the crook of Noah's neck.

Noah takes off Adam's clothes and supports him to the shower booth, he treats him with great care that it feels like he's handling glass.

He washes Adam's hair and scrubs his delicate body, despite his careful movements, his touch feels soft and gentle.

Noah places the bowl of porridge in front of Adam he scoops some on a spoon and points it at Adam, 'Ah'. For a moment, he hesitates. The nausea that has subsided for a moment, returns. But as he stares at Noah's expecting face, he musters up the courage to open his mouth, Noah shoves the spoon inside of his mouth

Noah feeds him and watches as Adam eats every last drop, after at least five bites, Adam shakes his head. He holds back a gag that's threatening to escape.

"You don't want anymore?"

Adam shakes his head, staring at the unfinished porridge.

"C'mon Baby, one more bite."

Noah says with a pleading smile, Adam hesitates, but he reluctantly opens his mouth, as Noah pushes the spoon inside, Adam's body rejects it harshly.

He covers his mouth and rushes to the kitchen sink, disappointment floods in when he realizes he vomited out everything he ate, more specifically, all the food Noah prepared for him.

Noah continues to stroke Adam's back, who had rushed to him when he started vomiting. He picks him up and carries him to the couch, after carefully placing him down, Noah rubs Adam's stomach, his stomach starts to calm down.

"Maybe we should go to a doctor.. It's worst than I thought."

Noah proposes, but Adam shakes his head frantically, not wanting to ever go to that 'scary' place till the day he dies. Noah looks at him, worried. He sighs gently and carries him back to the bedroom, he places him down on the bed and tucks him in.

After making sure that he's comfortable, Noah kisses him on the forehead and turns off the lights, leaving only the night light on. Because of the curtain, the room is dimly lit.

"I'm going to the pharmacy to get some medicine, if it doesn't work, we're going to the hospital."

Noah points his index finger at him, as if to warn him. After Noah has left, Adam closes his eyes and almost immediately falls asleep.

•~•~•~•

Adam opens his drowsy eyes, he feels something soft and cold on his forehead. Like some kind of damp cotton, he reaches up to touch whatever is placed on his forehead, it's a wet rag.

Adam shifts his eyes to the side to see Noah staring at him, his amber eyes scan his pale face.

"Can you get up for a moment?"

Noah says, Adam feels a little nervous at Noah's emotionless expression. Noah supports Adam as he sits up, his back resting on the soft, white pillows.

Noah takes a stay that was resting on the night stand and places it In front of him, it contains all sorts of food.

"Eat, so that you can drink your medicine."

Adam nods, he's about to pick up the utensils, but Noah is faster. He carefully scoops some of the soup and rice, after gently blowing it, he starts feeding it to Adam.

This is the first time in his entire life that someone was there to dedicate their full attention to taking care of him while he's sick.

After he actually manages to finish the food on the tray, or at least most of it, Noah hands him some juice he can sip on. While he's enjoying the juice Noah gave him, Noah is taking some stuff out of a paper bag. Then, Noah sticks something onto his forehead. It's cold, he's a little confused.

"It's a cool pad, keep it on."

Noah says and continues to rummage the paper bag, before pulling out some pills in a small bottle-like container. He takes one of the pills, 'Ah'. Adam opens his mouth, Noah plops the pill inside and washes it down with some water.

"I'm, cough sorry.."

He finally manages to let out an apology, Noah looks concerned, he stares in confusion, as if not understanding.

"I'm sorry, you have to take care of me.."

"Why are you sorry? I'm happy to take care of you."

Noah debunks his worries, Adam just sighs. His eyes stare at himself being reflected onto the juice.

"Your face.."

"What about it?"

Adam averts his gaze, just because Noah isn't smiling doesn't mean he isn't okay, Adam knows this, but he still feels like he's the cause of Noah's expressionless face.

"Nothing, nevermind."

Adam dismisses him, Noah just shrugs his shoulder and takes the tray away. When Noah is finally gone, Adam wipes away the tears he has let out. He shouldn't cry over not receiving a smile from Noah, still he feels guilty and disheartened.

•~•~•~•

He thought he would get better over the next few days, but his condition has only gotten worse, to the point that his temperature has reached up to 38°C.

And what he dreaded most has come true, Noah said he had no choice but to see a doctor.

And now, Adam is sitting at the lobby of a small clinic. While Noah is checking in with the receptionist, Adam is trying to steady his nerves as he waits in the slightly crowded waiting area.

Noah returns with their number and sits next to him, as he feels his lover's hand on his, his anxiety subsides a little.

"It's almost our turn."

Noah says, but Adam only gets even more worried. Thankfully, Noah is with him, that itself is enough for him to tolerate this visit. Adam fiddles with his fingers as he listens to the coughing patients at the lobby, some owned by him.

"Six."

Adam freezes, Noah stands up and holds his hand out. Adam nervously takes it, his anxiety skyrocketing.

They enter the small, cold office. Adam watches as the doctor washes his hands and puts on plastic, surgical gloves. After a brief examination, the doctor makes an obvious conclusion.

"You have a cold."

Noah still looks worried, but hes more relaxed than before. He nods, he pauses for a moment, thinking.

"Can you give us the prescription?"

The doctor kindly nods and starts writing something down onto a piece of paper, he then hands it to Noah and tells him the other things he needs to be aware of.

"Take this every eight hours, and don't forget to eat a full meal before you take it."

Noah nods, after checking the contents on the paper, he supports Adam to stand up and they walk out of the clinic.

•~•~•~•

The doctor's prescription of course worked, he ended up getting better after three days. Noah was very relieved to see him getting better.

"I'm so glad, I thought I was going to pass out from worry."

Noah exclaims while washing his face with a wet cloth, Adam hums, the cool rag on his face feels relaxing. Adam ended up confessing the reason he became ill, and Noah was definitely not happy to hear that. He made sure it never happened again and he put him on full survalance. He doesn't sleep until Adam is fast asleep.

He doesn't mind though, seeing that Noah cares so deeply about him makes him touched. The urge to marry this man is taking over, inch by inch. However, he knows he needs to calm down. They will eventually get married, he just needs to be patient.
