(author's note: You see the white dress at the side? I think that's is the dress I'm imagining for Athena when she'll attend dinner. Just an idea. It may not be Gucci but let it work. If you like the chapter, please comment and vote. )

This is wrong. Seriously, was I out of my mind when I actually agreed to seal the deal? Oh my. I’m totally not so sane that time! This is the worst decision I’ve ever made!

Uh-oh. But I’m betting I can’t back out now. The first five hundred thousand dollars was already deposited in my account. Trust me, I’d almost fainted at the sight of that big amount of money in my checkbook this morning. The biggest amount I’ve ever had in my hands was a hundred dollars.

It’s Friday night again- exactly one week after that particular encounter that led to this situation. I have been feeling uneasy all week. I didn’t even tell my mom nor Chloe about this. And thankfully, all week, Nate hasn’t bothering me. He still doesn’t know.

Because this particular night will be the night I’ll be officially introduced to him as his girlfriend under his father’s orders. Great. I’m already sweating.

Mr. Charles sent a big black box where an expensive-looking plain white Gucci dress was neatly laid and 3-inch white pumps. I swallowed. This could amount to my dad’s salary for half a year, or probably a year!

I carefully wore it and put on some nice make-up I found in my mom’s deepest closet. Just simple eye-liner, lip gloss and rogue will do, I must say. Thank God mom taught me how to put on back then. She is good, considering she used to do it for so many times when her life was still in grandeur.

I took deep breaths before getting inside the cab. Seriously, I cannot walk the sidewalks with this dress on.

I got inside the warm corners of the cab.

“The Carlyle, Madison Avenue.” I directed to the driver.

We are supposed to meet in the Carlyle Hotel and have a dinner. The name of the place made me nervous. I’ve never been there all my life!

It was a short ride and I quickly got in, careful not to trip on my own because of the shoes I’m wearing.

I sighed. Here I come, first job.

-Nate Van Warner POV-

Tss. This old man is something. What is he trying to pull at now? Last time he made me meet an old woman from London who tried to teach me the basics of business management. Like I’ve actually learned something, no. Then there was one time he sent two bodyguards to follow me wherever I go. He sent them out, after finding it’s just a waste. Also, he tried making me study when locked me all day in the summer in a room full of books. As if that ever worked.

For a dozen times, he made me find a bride by forcing me to do marriage interviews. Not kidding but excuse me, I’m the most dashing eligible bachelor in the world, or according to the magazines say.

I was actually smirking at his expression right now, like he’s worrying about something.

We’ve been waiting for five minutes now and the person we’ve been expecting still hasn’t come. Good if he or she doesn’t come.  It’s just probably some person he wanted to be my tutors.

                I rolled my eyes.

My father booked the smaller dining room off the main room in Carlyle. So much for being wealthy.

My thoughts flew to the suggestion Alex said to me yesterday. It’s about the Vanderbilt girl.

Yeah. He’s right. How could I ever forget that? I was so actually occupied this week on how to get back on her for humiliating and talking back to me like that. Now she’s going to suffer. Hah!

That scholarship student thinks she could take me on?! Well she’s wrong!

Alex cleared out my mind. Simple thing: Make her fall for me. It wouldn’t be so hard. I’m the famous New York prince anyway.

Father cleared his throat and I looked up from the rug I was staring at for minutes.

A pretty girl was standing in front of me. But she was different from all the other girls I met, with their Barbie features and blonde hair. She was pretty in her simplicity, her nut brown hair in a messy chignon and a light layer of make-up.

Wait up. She’s familiar.

You’ve got to be kidding me!

Athena Vanderbilt was actually that girl!

Here she is, standing in front of me, with a smirk on her pretty face.

What the hell is going on?

-Athena Vanderbilt POV-

I smirked at him and I was contented by the shock I saw on his face.

I thought about it and I think I need to keep up with this ‘i-am-cool’ act or else he’ll be taking advantage.

Mr. Charles asked me to sit down and order. A waiter came for us and spoke in French. Nice.

“I’ll have Prime Filet Magnon.” Nate Van Warner muttered, looking at me unashamedly with his light blue eyes. He might be probably wondering why am I having dinner with him. Good.

I smiled at him. A sickly sweet sarcastic smile.

“Atlantic Red Snapper for me.” Mr. Charles said politely and the waiter nodded politely and turned to me.

WHAT EXACTLY ARE THIS FOOD?! Aren’t there burgers or fries or just normal pasta?

“Uh. I-I’ll  think I’ll go with D-dover So-sole?” I stuttered, not actually confident with this thing. I mean, hello, this is the first time I saw this kind of food.

“So, Nate, this is Miss Athena Soleil White-Vanderbilt.” Mr. Charles started and I was secretly amused by the fact he know my complete name.

“Yeah. I know. We’ve been pretty close lately, right Athena?” he muttered as he gave me a smile.

Trust me, a warm smile like that means a wicked beam to me.

I gave him a brief glare.

“Really? Well, that’s good.” Mr. Charles said sincerely.

Well, that’s pretty much of a lie.

“Why is she here anyway? I supposed this isn’t just any ordinary chit-chat? And exactly why the hell, dad, do you know Athena?” he realized that. Oops. The dumb actually realized that.

The part I’m dreading is finally coming.

“Father, I’m supposed you aren’t making her tutor me, right?” he muttered.

I almost laughed. No. Not almost. I actually laughed. Goodness. What the hell is he thinking?

Mr. Charles chuckled quietly, “No, son.”

“Then why is she here? I supposed you didn’t just randomly know her and invited her to dinner?” his voice was a bit raised now. He’s confused but he’s too prideful to show it.

I swallowed, fidgeting nervously on my seat. Now I’m completely regretting agreeing to this. How the hell am I supposed to tame this bloody rich of his son?!

                Calm down, Athena. Calm down.

“Son, she’s Athena. She’s your official girlfriend on my official orders.” Mr. Charles stated in a clear deep voice.

I peeked at Nate Van Warner’s reaction. I grimaced.

He’s actually grinning! What’s wrong with his reaction?! He isn’t supposed to be grinning!
