all those guys back on Berk. Now they're cocooned in that crazy rock stuff, I'm being chased by an angry Death Song, and I'm stuck here with a wild Thunderdrum who can't hear a word I'm saying." I paused. "Wait a second. If you guys can hardly hear a thing, then you probably can't hear the Death Song's call. And if you can't hear the Death Song, then it can't lure you in! No wonder you haven't been caught and you're all alone!" He roared at me and I began to approach him, getting an idea. "You know what, Mr. Thunderdrum? You're gonna help me get my friends back. And I'm gonna make sure that dragon never bothers you again. What do you say?" It grumbled at me, but I held out my hand and it calmed down as I pet its snout. I mounted him and we headed off. "I'm coming, guys. Just hold on."

I arrived there and I tried to bust through the twins' cacoon. The tumbled around, but it didn't break open. I sighed, frustrated.

"Whoa! What's going on!? Do it again!" Tuff said.

"Okay, so that's a negative on plan A, ramming the cocoon open," I said.

"Please tell me that's there's a plan B," Arrow said.

"If it involves cutting, ramming, or ripping you might as well forget it, Hiccup. Once it cools down, this stuff is as hard as any rock I've ever seen." Then, it clicked with me.

"Cools down?"

"And hardens." I hummed. The Nightmare gel could work... "Nobody move!" 

"Oh, yeah, that's funny. A real comedian." Tuff commented. I used the gel, spreading it out and forming trails between all of them. Toothless purred at me as I did him. I pet his head with a smile, hoping my idea would work.

"What are you doing, Hiccup?" Snotlout asked as I did him.

"Just trust me, Snotlout."

"Says the man who's about to set me on fire!?"

"You said it only stings a little."

"I was lying. You know I'm a liar!" He said, clearly worried.

"It'll be okay, Snotlout, I promise." 

I still needed to get (Y/n) and Nightshade. I got on the Thunderdrum and flew up to Nightshade. I poured it over her and since her neck was long enough and not pinned down, she could light it herself. "Just wait for my signal, okay, girl?" I told her. She nodded, but then she looked toward an amber rock on the ground and whimpered. I looked over and saw a bit of a shield sticking out of it. "(Y/n)..." 

I hurried over to her and looked around. There was a place where it was thin and I looked through. I saw her trying to pull her arm free. She spotted me and her eyes widened. She placed her hand up against mine. I could see how scared she was. I gave her a reassuring smile and poured the rest of the gel on her cocoon. 

I got on the Thunderdrum as the Death Song suddenly came back. We hid as it took a dragon away. Fishlegs screamed.

"Aah! Hurry up, Hiccup! He just took the appetizer. I think I'm the main course." 

"Fishlegs, relax. It could take hours for him to eat that dragon." Arrow said, but it was already back.

"Or minutes! HELP!!" I flew around with the Thunderdrum. It roared at Fishlegs, but it turned as it heard us.

"Hey, remember us?!" We drew it away before I jumped off, using my shield to light the gel. It caused a chain reaction and they all were able to break out.

"Yes! It's working!" Nightshade fired at her own and broke out. She rushed down to (Y/n) and used her tail to help speed up the process. She smashed it and it shattered with the combination of the fire and force.

"(Y/n)! You okay?!" I called.

"Gods, it was stuffy in there!" 

"Yep, she's good." Arrow chuckled. Toothless rushed over to me.

"Hey, bud, good to see you." Everyone else took to the air to confront it. We got ready to take off, but I heard a tiny squeaky roar. I looked over and I was stunned to see a baby dragon trapped in the amber. "It's an adolescent Thunderdrum. No wonder he stuck around." We took off. "Snotlout, you get the Thunderdrum. I'll handle the Death Song."

"We got the other dragons! Go!" (Y/n) called. I nodded and we led the Death Song away together.

Your POV

Nightshade's tail was also able to break the amber. It took a few hits without the fire, but it helped as the other used the gel to free the rest of the dragons. Soon enough, you all took to the air to go meet up with Hiccup. You led the baby Thunderdrum onwards until you saw the adult up ahead along with Hiccup and Toothless. They rushed up to each other and nuzzled each other happily.

"If I were you two, I'd maybe find another island. I don't know how long that's gonna hold." Hiccup said.

"Uh, you know they can't hear you, right?" Tuff asked.

"Yes, Tuff, I know. Let's get out of here." He said and you all hurried off. "Hey, gang, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for getting you all into this. If you want to turn back-" Arrow cut him off.

"Are you kidding?"

"No way," Ruff added.

"This is the most fun we've had in years!" Snotlout agreed.

"There is one thing we need to do, though," Arrow said.

"I'm all ears." Hiccup told him.

"We need an island, our own island."

"Arrow's right, Hiccup. We're way too far out to travel back and forth to Berk." Fishlegs agreed.

"What we need is a base of operations." Hiccup said.

"Exactly. But this time, we don't let the dragons pick it." Meatlug looked offended. "Sorry, girl, it had to be said."

"All right, Snotlout, you're the man of the hour for bringing the Monstrous Nightmare gel. You choose." Hiccup said. He grinned.

"Seriously?"

"Yeah, seriously!"

"All right! What do you say, Fangster?" Hookfang roared happily. "Ha! Couldn't agree more. Into the great beyond!"

"The great beyond!"
