(Quick note before starting the series. If you haven't read any of my other HTTYD books, I recommend at least reading the one I made on the first movie before starting this book because there is valuable information on (Y/n) and her relations and her dragon that is vital. I've explained it in both book one and two. I think I did it in three as well and it takes a while to re-type all that stuff, so please spare me the pain and go check it out for yourselves. Thank you and now you may continue.

Edit: Also, I have changed the dragons that the brothers ride and Nightshade is slightly different! Right now, I have not gotten to changing all of this in this book, but it is changed in my three other stories based on the movies and not this show. I apologize for any inconsistencies. Please be patient with me. I will try to revise this book eventually, but I am very busy currently and this book is a lot longer than my other books, as you all can tell. Until then, thank you for your understanding and patience!)

You were practicing aerial battle training with your brothers and sister that day. You smiled as they practiced some of the moves that were harder for their dragons to do. Zane and Cala were doing very well. Kent was close after them with Carl and Ash trailing behind. It was easier for Cala and Zane since they had the most maneuverable dragons.

"Good work, everyone!" You called. Then, you heard a familiar sound. You looked over and saw Hiccup and Toothless fly by. They were back! You smiled excitedly before calling back to your team. "That's it for today! Keep it up!"

"See ya later, sis!" Carl called before heading off after the others. You looked around for Hiccup, wondering where he went. Well, he couldn't have gone far.

"Come on, girl. Let's go find them!" Nightshade barked in agreement before you both took off together.

Hiccup's POV

"It's been three whole years since the war with the Berserkers and Berk has changed a lot. Then again, so have we. Snotlout works at the armory now. Gobber gave him the title of official Weapons Tester." Snotlout flew by me as he tested out a catapult.

"Haha! It woooooooorks!" I spotted the twins pushing a cart filled with weapons.

"The twins, to absolutely no one's surprise, have decided to dedicate their lives to Loki...the God of Pranks." Snotlout panicked as he saw he was heading straight for the cart of weapons. "AH! HOOKFANG! HOOKFANG!" Luckily, Hookfang caught him in time. "You just have to cut it that close, don't you!?" I shook my head and moved on.

"And then there's Fishlegs, who has REALLY found his calling. Teaching the children of Berk the history of dragons."

He told the kids about one of the Speed Stinger attacks as we flew in closer. I saw my dad and Gobber down there as well. We stopped in as Fishlegs told them that Toothless and I were two of Berk's greatest heroes. I knew that we were considered heroes, but it still sometimes kinda felt off being called it. Still, I didn't say anything about it. We kept flying and I soon saw (Y/n) in the air with her family, aside from her parents.

"(Y/n) has really moved along too. She's the leader of a group that her family calls the 'Protectors of Berk'. Now, all of us fight for Berk, obviously, but her team trains a lot. They're a unit and they work flawlessly together most of the time. (Y/n) doesn't exactly want to be the next village elder anymore. That duty has been passed on to Kent. He's actually a great healer and he's a very smart guy. It fits him and everyone is sure he'll do great once he comes of age. Gothi surely has faith in him. Still, he trains with his family as well because they still do need him on the team. (Y/n) always says I'd be better to lead, but...I haven't given up on my own missions yet. I'm appreciative that she supports me with them, though. It's nice knowing that she's there."

Toothless and I kept flying along. Soon, Arrow showed up. I grinned as my other best friend came over toward us. I could always count on Arrow, after all.

"Oh, there you are!"

"Hiccup, I've been chasing you since the armory."

"Oh, well, I thought we'd try out the far north today!"

"Uh, can we talk about something first, man?"

"Yeah, sure! If you can catch me!" Arrow was always up for some all-in-good fun challenges, so I thought he'd enjoy it. We soon paused as I took out my spyglass and looked around. "You know what, I'm just gonna say it. I have a really good feeling about today, Arrow."

"You say that every time we go searching for new dragons. Hey, Hiccup, while we have a second, I wanted to talk to you about-" I cut him off as I spotted something, tossing him the spyglass.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Look, look, look! There's definitely some movement up ahead! Long neck...large head, behind the rock formation!"

"Yeah, anyway. I wanted to tell you-" I hurried away, forgetting to listen.

"This is it, Toothless. A new species of dragon!" I said excitedly. We came around the rock and I was stunned to see the twins there.

"Lokied!" They cheered together.

"Ha! You totally thought Barch was a new dragon!" Tuff taunted.

"Oh, come on! Did not!" I protested, even though I had. "Let's go, bud." With that, we left, finding a place to land and rest for a bit. Toothless nuzzled me as we relaxed for a bit. Arrow came with Stormfly a few moments later. He came over to me as Toothless went to go play with Stormfly.

"Hiccup, those guys are muttonheads. But you have to admit, we visited every island, every sea stack, and every rock in the Argopeligo twice! And we haven't spotted a new dragon in a long time." I refused to believe it.

"This can't be all there is! There has to be something more out there."

"What if there isn't, Hiccup? What if we're done? What if the search is over?"

"It can't be," I replied, even though I felt even more discouraged now. He sighed.

"Well, it's over for me." I looked at him, confused. "I've been trying to tell you! Stormfly and I...we're joining the Berk Guard! I thought about asking (Y/n) about the Protectors, but...they're more of an inside team." I looked away, trying to hide my disappointment.

"Oh... That's great! I'm happy for you guys!" I hoped I was convincing, but apparently, I wasn't.

"Look, maybe you should give some thought to what's next for you and Toothless." With that, the two of them left. I stood up, not knowing what to do. About 15 minutes later, I heard a roar. I turned and I smiled a little as a new person came over to us.

"Hey, Hiccup! You two seemed kinda lonely out here! Thought I'd drop by! Training with the team is done for the day."

"How are they doing?"

"Good! Really good! Cala is still learning how to be more of a team player, but she's improving with her skills a lot! It's just hard to work with her since she's been distant for most of our lives, you know?" I nodded.

"Yeah, I get the picture." Toothless and Nightshade continued to play as (Y/n) came over to me.

"So, what was out here today? Anything exciting?"

"Just the twins pulling one over me," I grumbled.

"Oh." There was silence for a moment. "Want me to have Nightshade wack them?" She offered. I chuckled a little and so did she.

"No, that's alright. Thanks for the offer though, heheh."

"Anytime!" Her smile was bright, as always. After that, there was silence again.

"Can...can I ask you something?"

"Sure, what is it?"

"Do you...think that this is all there is? Do you think we're done?" She looked surprised.

"I see Arrow told you about his plans, huh?" Now it was my turn to be stunned.

"How did you-?"

"I know things." She replied. "Anyway...I...I guess I can't be sure. It does feel like there's more, but...maybe it's just not meant for us to find...yet, you know?"

"If not now, then when?" I asked, not sure if I wanted to accept that answer. She sighed.

"I...I don't know, Hiccup." I looked away. She sat down next to me and gave me a hug. "But there is one thing I know. No matter what's next, we can face it together. If you ever need me, you know where to find me." I smiled a little.

"Thanks, (Y/n)."

"Hey, it's what friends are for." She stood up. "I better be home before the boys start to miss me. See you a little later, Hiccup." She paused for a moment. "You know what? You want to come over for dinner again tonight?" She asked, mounting Nightshade.

"No, but thanks for the offer. Maybe some other time." She nodded, accepting my answer.

"The offer is always there and the door is always open. Bye!" She called as the two of them took off. I watched them go. I sighed, turning back to the view I had, not sure what I was going to do. I was at a dead end.

Your POV

The next day, you were practicing some of your fighting moves in the arena. Suddenly, Hiccup and all of the others rushed in. Hiccup didn't look too happy, so you knew something was up. You knew how to read him pretty well by this point.

"(Y/n)! You're here!" He exclaimed.

"Uh, yeah. What's going on?"

"We've got some bad news," Arrow said. Hiccup nodded and strung up a map.

"All we got out of Johann before he passed out was this, Dagur escaped from Outcast island by commandeering his ships. He threw Johann overboard...about here." Hiccup explained.

"Oh, so what you're saying is Dagur could be anywhere by now!?" Snotlout exclaimed.

"Well, technically, yes." Hiccup replied.

"Oh, great. Great, great, great. So that just leaves...I don't know, let me think about this...the entire ocean to search! No, thank you." You rolled your eyes at him, but then you spotted Johann.

"Master Hiccup."

"Johann, you're awake." Hiccup said, glad to see he was alright as well.

"And feeling much better, thank you for asking. More importantly, I have more than a strong suspicion of where our nefarious foe may be heading." He said gesturing to the outer borders.

"Outside the Archipelago?" You asked, coming up beside Hiccup.

"No! Just inside the fog bank on our outer group of islands."

"We've never been out that far..." Hiccup said.

"When Dagur commandeered my precious ship, he also came into possession of a very important map...one that leads to a graveyard of ships hidden in that fog bank," Johann explained.

"Wow! That's the first place I'd go." Snotlout said sarcastically.

"If I may be allowed to finish?"

"Johann, last time we allowed you to finish, we ended up on Breakneck Bog. So, no. No finishing." Snotlout retorted.

"Enough! What's so special about the graveyard and why would he go there?" Hiccup asked him.

"Well, you see-"

"The short version, please."

"...It's where I store all my treasures and wares." Everybody looked kind of stunned.

"Wow, concise, to the point. Who knew he had it in him?" Tuff said.

"Which reminds me of the first time I was labeled as concise! He was a young man, very ugly, I actually-"

"Johann." Hiccup cut in.

"Yes?"

"Focus. Is there anything else?"

"As a matter of fact, there is one ship you must avoid at all cost. It's called...The Reaper." You were listening now. The Reaper? I've never heard a name for a ship like that. "Riddled with booby traps from stem to stern. Barely made it out with my life the only time I dared venture aboard. Oh, wow!"

"Okay, Toothless, let's go. Unless, of course, any of you can make time out of your busy schedules to capture a dangerous maniac." Hiccup said. You grinned.

"Me? Pass this up? Ha! You amuse me, Hiccup." You said before giving a whistle. Nightshade was there within moments looking eager and ready to go. You mounted her and your brothers came over.

"You're going nowhere without us," Ash said.

"You're going nowhere without any of us," Arrow added as they each got their dragons.

"Well, if that's the case, I need you four to stay here with Cala." You told the boys.

"What? Why?" Ash asked.

"Having all of us go is unnecessary. I need you guys here in case anything happens while the rest of us are away." You explained.

"She's right, Ash," Zane added. He sighed in response, but he didn't argue. "We'll watch over things. We promise." Zane told you. You nodded to them.

"Hey!" Ash called before you could go with the others. "Just be careful out there."

"I will." You hurried after the others and you all took off, heading out for where Johann had sent you all. About an hour into flying, you heard Hiccup shout,

"V formation!" You took the spot behind Arrow. You chuckled as Hiccup tested you. "Diamond formation!" You took up the middle since the others had the main formation.

"How rusty does this guy think we are?" Tuff asked.

"Uh, guys? Little tight on the diamond aren't we?" Fishlegs coughed out since he was underneath the twins. You shook your head with a smile at them.

"Just like old times." Hiccup commented.

"Five thousand pounds of flaming muscle coming through!" Snotlout said as he and Hookfang charged past.

"Ever classic." Hiccup sighed. You chuckled and pulled up beside him and Toothless.

"Now it's really like old times, isn't it?" You teased. He rolled his eyes, but you saw the smile he was trying to hide. Soon enough, you arrived at the old shipyard.

"I knew it! I knew there was more!" Hiccup exclaimed.

"Some of these ships, I've never seen anything like them before," Arrow commented.

"Okay, everybody fan out! If anyone sees any signs of Dagur, sound the signal." Hiccup ordered. You nodded and began to look around. Nightshade let out an unsettled growl.

"I know, girl. I don't feel good about this either." You told her. "The others have got their areas covered. Let's head back to regroup." She turned and you both landed on a nearby ship. Soon enough, all of the others had gathered there as well.

"Not a sign of Dagur." Hiccup began.

"Looks like we've got here first. What's the plan?" Arrow asked.

"We wait." He answered.

"Wait a minute. For how long? This fog really gives Meatlug the willies." Fishlegs said.

"He has a point. We can't wait here forever." Arrow agreed.

"We can't just leave Johann's treasure here either. Dagur will steal them!" Hiccup countered.

"And use the profit to build a new armada." You added.

"Not if we steal them first!" Ruffnut said.

"That is the dumbest idea I've ever heard! I hereby disown you!" Tuff told her.

"Actually, you know what? I sort of like it!" Hiccup said.

"Welcome back to the family."

"Here's the plan. We search the ships, gather Johann's treasure and take it back to Berk. But keep your eyes open for Dagur. He could show up anytime." All of a sudden, you heard hissing.

"What is that?" Arrow asked.

"Has Dagur's voice changed?" Tuff asked. Hiccup looked over the sides.

"Eels! Everybody, get to your dragons before they get spooked and take off!"

"Ohhhh...Hold me, Meatlug!" All of the dragons took off. Nightshade started flapping, but you rushed over and caught her reins.

"No, girl! It's alright!" You told her. She came back down, still looking on edge. Toothless was the only other dragon that stayed since he needed Hiccup to fly.

"Calm down, bud! It's only a couple of eels! Really big, screaming mean eels..." Hiccup said. You both took off but the eels had a different plan for the others.

"The eels are pulling the ship down!" Fishlegs exclaimed. They began to slide.

"Fishlegs! Grab my foot!" Snotlout called. Everyone then formed a chain. "Oh, you ate a full breakfast! You ate everybody's breakfast!"

"We're gonna live!" Tuff cheered. Arrow slipped.

"AHH!"

"Arrow!" You exclaimed. Nightshade dove instantly.

"Most of us are gonna live!" Tuff shouted. You ignored him and Nightshade snatched Arrow by the back of his shirt. You smiled in relief.

"Got you! Good work, girl!" Nightshade tossed him onto a safe ledge. Arrow got his footing and looked back at your dragon, smiling.

"Thanks, Nightshade!" You were proud of her, but you didn't have long to think about it. Suddenly, you were hit hard and you shrieked as you fell out of the saddle. Nightshade shrieked as she had to correct herself as she tumbled through the air. She caught the ship with her claws, but she had to fight off another eel that came for her. You, on the other hand, were heading straight for the water.

"(Y/N)!" Hiccup called. You hit the water and the eels were already on top of you. You tried to swim away, but they were much faster. Then, a plasma blast scared them off. You saw Hiccup and Toothless. You grabbed his hand and he pulled you out of the water.

"Thanks, Hiccup." You told him, giving him a hug from behind. Nightshade ran over to you as the three of you landed. You chuckled. "Hey, it's okay. I'm alright, Nightshade." You hushed her.

"Pardon me. Does anyone else think that Johann could have warned us about...I don't know...THE GIANT SCREAMING EELS?!" Snotlout shouted in anger.

"Snotlout, would you relax? The dragons will be back. In the meantime, we stick with the plan. We find Johann's treasure. Quietly." Hiccup told him. He stomped away as you and Arrow walked over to Hiccup. He was looking at the Reaper.

"Why are you staring at that ship?" Arrow asked.

"Because I'm thinking of checking it out."

"The Reaper? The ship Johann warned us about?"

"Exactly. A ship covered with booby traps from stem to stern. I'm thinking, what is on there they don't want people to find?" Now that you thought about it, he was right.

"I'll go with you. You might need somebody to watch your back on a ship like that." You offered. He nodded.

"Thanks, (Y/n)."

"Be careful, you guys," Arrow warned.

"We will." You promised before the four of you headed over to it.

"This boat is definitely not from the archipelago. These carvings, the design on the sail...I've never seen anything like this." Hiccup said.

"Me either." You agreed. He walked over to one of the cages.

"And this metal..." Toothless growled at it. "Come on, bud, it's just an empty cage." Then, a bird flew out of it, causing Hiccup to scream. Toothless grumbled at him. "Okay, now-now it's an empty cage." You laughed. Hiccup turned to you, looking embarrassed and annoyed. "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up." He muttered. You smiled at him.

"Don't be sour. Tell you what, next time something like that happens to me, you can laugh all you want. Fair enough?" You asked. He smiled at you.

"I'll hold you to that one, I hope you know." You chuckled.

"Yeah, I know. Now, come on. Let's get moving." You said and he nodded in agreement. Toothless growled as did Nightshade as you approached the hatch leading below deck.

"Come on, bud. Don't you want to see what's down below?" Toothless growled again. "All right, fine. Guess we're going alone." Just as he lifted the hatch a rope latched onto Hiccup's foot and dragged him off toward the edge of the ship. "AH! Whoa! Whoa!"

"Hiccup!" You exclaimed. Toothless was already on it, firing a blast to break the rope. Hiccup hit the edge of the boat pretty hard, but he was alright for the most part.

"Okay. Nobody goes to this much trouble unless there's something on this boat that they don't want found!" Toothless huffed at the rope and Hiccup went down first with you following close after him.

"I don't like this." You told him.

"We just have to watch our
