"Okay, help me out here. So we're supposed to be mad at Johann for trying to systematically destroy everyone we know and love, right?" Tuff asked.

"Correct. I say we drag him underwater behind a school of Scauldrons for ten miles." Ruff suggested.

"I say we turn him inside out and feed him to a flock of Changewings." Snotlout said.

"Ha, I like it, Snotlout. Sorry, sis." Tuff said.

"Gotta give credit where credit's due." Ruff replied.

"Ehem." You cleared your throat, glaring at the three. They all remembered Leon's incident again.

"Or, you know, locking him up works." Tuff said nervously. You faced ahead.

"...We make him drink the acid and melt his flesh with it first." Everyone froze at that. They all looked at you with wide eyes. "What?" Both the Twins and Snotlout moves a few wing lengths away from you. You rolled your eyes. "I've come up with worse."

"Do you have list or something!?" Snotlout asked.

"Yeah." Once again, silent staring in terror.

"May we see said list?" Tuff asked. You grinned a little at them. They both looked excited.

"Could it be?" Ruff said, clapping her hands together.

"(Y/n) has seen the light! She has come over to our side!" Tuff praised happily. You chuckled.

"Eh, why not? Just this once."

"Hiccup, never get on her bad side. Ever. I'm too young to witness that." Snotlout begged, still looking terrified. You giggled a little, freaking him out even more.

"Here's my question. Why do I have this nagging feeling of admiration for the guy?" Tuff asked.

"That's because you're a moron." Snotlout told him.

"Yes, perhaps. But consider this. The man is a genius." Tuff replied.

"A genius." Ruff added.

"A wunderkind."

"Wonder of a kind."

"An enfant terrible."

"Don't know what that means."

"He fooled everyone Hiccup, Stoick, Alvin, Dagur, Chicken. He even fooled us." The Twins went back and forth until Snotlout cut in.

"Not me. I totally saw this coming."

"Huh! You did? And you said nothing?" Fishlegs said, clearly disbelieving of him.

"There are times when you must learn the hard way, Fishy. And I find-"

"Shut up, Snotlout!" You all snapped at him. He sighed.

"Hiccup, look, your dad hates being made a fool of. This, we know. But the sooner we tell him and let him calm down, the better for all of us." Arrow said.

"Oh, you're right. I mean, he knows everything that's going on in the Archipelago, right? Maybe he already knows and he's cooled down." Hiccup said, hopefully. You had a feeling that he was getting his hopes too high.

*At Berk*

"I'LL SPLIT HIS BONEY BUTT IN TWO!" The shout from Stoick's house was undeniable, as was the sound of crashing furnature. Oh boy. Raging Chief. Here we go again. Not that I can really blame him...

"I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this is the first the Chief's hearing of it." Ruff said.

"Ya think?" You said with your arms crossed. He burst out of his house with Hiccup nervously following behind him.

"I want all the food gathered from Johann's last shipment! NOW!" Stoick shouted.

"Hey, Chief? We had a long, slow flight in. A little power nap could really hit the sp-" Stoick turned to Snotlout with the fiery fury of a thousand suns.

"What?! What was that? A power nap, you say!?"

"Who said that? We don't need no stinkin' power naps! I am ready to go, Chief." Snotlout said, yawning a little. You rolled your eyes as Stoick stormed away.

"Smooth, mutton-head." You commented. Once everything from the last shipment was gathered, you watched as Stoick's rampage continued.

"And that's everything." Hiccup said, tossing the last of it.

"Skullcrusher, fire." And it's all burning. Yeah, this might last for weeks.

"Dad? Uh, don't-don't you think maybe we should have checked it first?" Hiccup asked.

"Why? I assume you did the same on the Edge, as any sane Viking would do."

"No. The plan was to test it and see what was safe to eat."

"That sounds like half a plan, son. The second half: needing to figure out what to do with the Riders you kill with that poisoned food!" He said and marched away.

"I vote for a new plan." Snotlout said, raising his hand and Fishlegs joined in. You sighed, making no comment just yet. You both followed after the angry man as he began to week havoc on Gothi's hut next.

"Whoa, Dad! Dad, uh, food is one thing. But all of Gothi's medicine?"

"(Y/n), you need to start warning us before you tell the chief these things." Kent muttered to you, watching helplessly as Stoick continued to rampage on.

"I don't think that would make a difference, Kent." You admitted, also watching and no longer really reacting anymore. You kind of expected this from Stoick at this point.

"Anything made from Johann's supply of willow bark." Stoick threw the box but Gothi ran to save it and got knocked over the edge.

"Whoa, Dad!" Her Gronckle flew in to save her just in time before she hit the ground. Gothi glared at Stoick on the way back up. Kent sighed, following after her to help calm her down.

"It's what needs to be done." Stoick told Hiccup...again.

"Don't you think you're overreacting?" Hiccup asked.

"You don't see me telling you how to run things on the Edge, do you?"

"The 'half a plan' comment comes to mind." Gobber suddenly came running.

"Chief! Three new traders just arrived on the docks. Ships stacked high with anything we could ever need!"

"Ah! I knew those scavengers would move in once they knew we were helpless." Stoick said.

"Actually, they are three of the most trusted and experienced merchants in the Archipelago." Hiccup told him.

"And you know that how?"

"Because I sent for them." Stoick marched off again with his son trailing helplessly after him...again. "We need supplies, Dad."

*At the docks*

"Smells fishy. Too tall. Shifty eyes. Pack up your garbage and take to the seas. We're not interested." Hiccup watched his father in shock. The merchants looked stunned by Stoick's behavior and dismissal.

"Y-You barely even looked at them!?" Hiccup interjected.

"I saw enough. Did you happen to notice that none of those traders had willow bark?" Hiccup frowned.

"Gothi's medicine."

"How can we trust anyone who doesn't consider our health and well-being first?"

"He's actually got a point there." You said, knowing that medicine was very important because of your early training with Gothi. But, however, by the time you looked again, Stoick was already gone.

"Aaand he's gone. Oh, great. What now?" Hiccup groaned as you both hurried to find him. You found him at the arena. He and Gobber were getting Skullcrusher ready to go. "Leaving to get more willow bark, I assume?" Stoick grunted in response.

"Uh, that's the general idea." Gobber replied.

"Dad, maybe now would be a good time to sit down, come up with a plan." Hiccup offered.

"Already have a plan. Right up here." Stoick said, pointing to his head. Toothless cooed, concerned. Suddenly, you heard someone call your name. You turned.

"Carl?" He came running and puffing.

"Can we...talk?" He panted. You nodded and followed him outside. "Sis, this is getting out of hand!"

"I know."

"He sent Jahlin and his team away from Berk until he can 'properly investigate' them." You were surprised by that.

"Uhg, that is too far. Listen, Stoick is heading out right now. You send a Terror Mail and bring them back, okay? Right now, we need more allies than foes. I trust them, so if Stoick gets mad, he can take it up with me." Carl nodded.

"You got it, (Y/n)! Consider the Terror Mail already on the way!" He said and rushed off again. You saw Gobber walk out.

"I assume you're going too?" He said.

"Let me guess, Stoick left, you need to pick a trader, Hiccup is gonna go after Stoick, the usual stuff, right?" You asked.

"Yeah, pretty much nailed it." You sighed.

"You guys take good care of the Edge while we're away, okay?" Gobber nodded.

"Righty-o! You can count on me!"

Once you and Hiccup were off after his father, you finally got your chance to speak. You had been waiting for the right moment. Now, you honestly thought it would be one of your only ones.

"Hiccup," He looked over at you. "I know this is hard for everyone, but you know that it always goes this way. Stoick gets mad, then you get stressed, and Berk is stressed out and caught in the middle of you two. Nothing ever gets done properly when that happens. You and your father better start working together instead of against each other and fast if we're actually going to get ahead of Johann." Hiccup sighed heavily.

"I know. You're right, I just wish that wasn't easier said than done."

"So do I."

You both followed after him for a while together. Things were fine until, suddenly, he was gone! You both looked at each other before checking all around you. Where could he have gone?

"Anything I can help you with?" You yelped a little as both you and Hiccup turned seeing him there with his arms crossed.

"Hey! Dad. Hey! Funny seeing you up here." Stoick didn't look amused. "I thought you could use this map from Gothi. It demarks all the islands with willow bark on them." As Hiccup was talking, Nightshade suddenly growled. You looked at her.

"What is it, girl?" Suddenly, there were dragons all around you. You yelped and dodged them.

"Hey, Dad..."

"I see it!"

"D-Dad, we might want to go around the wild dragon stampede, as opposed to-" Stoick glared at him. "J-Just a thought." Stoick dove headfirst into a Monsterous Nightmare.

"Hiccup, these dragons, they're fleeing from something!" You called.

"I know. But what?" Hiccup and Toothless scared off the Nightmare so Stoick wouldn't hurt it. Of course, that's not how Stoick saw it.

"Skullcrusher and I had it all under control."

"I'm sure you did. But think how terrible you'd feel if you hurt one of those dragons instead of scaring them off." Stoick suddenly turned toward something. "Uh, Dad? You okay? H-Hello?" Then, you both spotted that the first island was burning. You were stunned.

"Strange. The first place we go happens to be on fire? It's almost like someone-" Stoick didn't even care about what Hiccup was saying.

"It's not the only island on the map, son. It's just a minor setback. Let's get a move on." Stoick kept flying. Toothless and Nightshade roared uncomfortably at the smoke coming from the island.

"I know, bud. I know." Hiccup calmed Toothless and you hushed Nightshade before you both followed after Stoick once more.

You all came across another island together and Hiccup started to look around. You stayed with him, knowing you could help.

"May I see?" You asked. He smiled a little and handed you the tree bark. You examined it carefully, you medicine practice being useful. "Looks healthy enough. It's definitely the right bark." You said.

"I sometimes forget you used to train with Gothi." You chuckled.

"So much has happened since then, huh?" You both smiled at each other before the tree was suddenly knocked down. You saw Stoick and Skullcrusher above you.

"Whoa! Uh, we need bark. Not the whole tree."

"Oh, that's a good one, son. Telling your old man how to gather bark." Then, both Toothless and Nightshade smelled something and started growling. You all saw more fires.

"Dad!"

"Not now, son." Then, he turned, seeing the smoke. "Oh, come on." You all took to the air, seeing two Dragon Flyers setting the island on fire.

"I told you this wasn't a coincidence." Hiccup said.

"Hiccup!" Stoick snapped a warning before charging head first into the fight and taking down both the Flyers in a less than a minute. "Ha-ha! Yeah! That's right! Try us again, and you'll know what real pain is! Good boy, Skullcrusher. I thought Johann was smarter than this."

"He is smarter than this!" Hiccup said.

"What are you saying, Hiccup?" Stoick asked.

"He's saying we should think for a minute." You stated.

"His plan can't just have been to set a couple of fires or ruin all of our food. There has to be more to it!" Hiccup argued.

"You're giving the man too much credit. Sometimes a plan is just a plan, even if it's a bad one. Now, if you'll excuse me." Stoick was about to take off again, but you stopped him.

"Chief! With all do respect, if Hiccup is right more could be at stake than any of us even realize!" You said.

"I'm sorry, (Y/n), but I think I know what I'm doing. And I don't recall asking you to join in on this." You glared at him, your anger starting to rise. You were through with this.

"You know what? Fine. If you two want to keep flying to every corner of the Archipelago while yelling at each other again, then do it! I'm sick of listening to two grown men bicker! Do what you like, Chief, but I'm going home to make sure that my family and my friends are okay!" You shouted before taking off, leaving both of them behind.

You and Nightshade flew for a bit until she stopped on her own. You looked down at her questioningly. She cooed worriedly at you. You sighed heavily, trying to calm down, but that only made it worse. You growled and then you screamed.

"BOYS!!" You shouted to the sky as if you wanted it to listen to you.

You collapsed on your back in the saddle. Nightshade stretched her neck around, nudging your leg. You looked at her as she barked in the direction where Hiccup and Stoick had gone. You frowned, knowing you had a choice to make. It was either go home or go after them. Whatever choice you made, you had to make it now.

You huffed, knowing your choice had already been made. "Thor have mercy on me." You muttered. You sat up and patted Nightshade. "Come on, girl. As much as I don't want to care right now, we need to make sure those two don't end up getting themselves in more trouble." Nightshade barked in agreement as you took the reigns again. "Let's go."

You found them again and you saw that both Skullcrusher and Toothless were trying to get the boys closer together. You stayed hidden, listening and waiting while hoping something would happen. Come on, you two. It's ben long enough. Time for the final faze of this: making up with each other. Right on queue, they both spoke up.

"Dad?"

"Hiccup?"

"Go ahead."

"No, you."

"No. You're the chief."

"But you are next in line." They both paused for a moment, still speaking at the same time as they said.

"I may have rushed to judgment."

"I could have been more decisive." You smiled a little. There we go. "Look, Johann's got us so turned around, we're spinning out of control."

"Aye, he does indeed." Stoick agreed for the first time that day.

"Okay. Full disclosure. I had no idea how to test the food for poison back on the Edge." You saw the two start to smile.

"Isn't that what Snotlout is for?" They both laughed and you snickered a little, still making sure they didn't know you were there.

"I should have just picked one of those lousy traders, even though they had no bark and all the same fish." Hiccup looked surprised when Stoick said that. Stoick, knowing his son, knew something was up. "Out with it."

"Well, it seems like a pretty big coincidence. No bark, the same fish. Wait. That fish, what kind was it?" Hiccup said. You thought about it too.

"I was so busy acting like a child, I only saw it for a moment." Stoick replied.

"It wasn't Ice Tail Pike, was it?"

"Hmm...Indeed it was."

"That's what Singetails eat! Oh! You were right not to trust them after all."

"Ah, Johann's sent us on a wild-goose chase to get us far away from Berk!"

"Let's go, bud!" You grinned.

"It's about time you two started working together!" They both paused.

"(Y/n)!" They said at the same time. You grinned.

"What? You think I would actually leave you two out here by yourselves? Ha. I know you both too well to make that mistake." Hiccup smiled as you all hurried off, heading home as fast as possible.

"(Y/n)!" You heard Stoick call out to you. "For what I said to you, I'm sorry, lass. I hope you can accept a Chief's apology." He said, even taking off his helmet. You were surprised, but you smiled.

"Thank you, but I should say sorry too. I shouldn't have yelled."

"No, no, you actually are the one that got me starting to think. I didn't want to admit it, but it helps having you around to keep the two of us from going at each other. No wonder you're always tailin' after my son." You all laughed a little.

"Well, like father like son. I think I'm getting used to it by now." You replied, causing another laugh and the dragons began to coo happily. You smiled at Nightshade. "But, to be fair, I think our dragons were the biggest help today." You said, pettign her. Stoick and Hiccup each smiled at their own dragons.

"Yeah, I think you're right. Thanks, bud." Hiccup said, petting Toothless.

"Agreed. You're a good boy, Skullcrusher. Skullcrusher roared in appreciation as Stoick pet him as well.

*Back at Berk*

It was just as you all had feared. They'd taken over Berk and were reinforcing it to make sure you all couldn't take it bac by force. Stoick was looking through his spyglass to get a better look.

"Most of the guards are outside the Great Hall." Stoick told you both.

"Must be where they're keeping everyone." You frowned, thinking of your family. Hiccup patted your shoulder gently.

"Then why's he taking that ballista to the arena?" Stoick asked.

"Because that's where the dragons are." You stated.

"He's gonna use it on them." Hiccup hurried and mounted Toothless.

"Ah, wait, son. My island, my plan." You both nodded, listening closely. Stoick told you both what to do and you both agreed to do as he said. You gave Hiccup a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Goodluck and be careful." You told him. Stoick needed you to come with him as back-up against Krogan and the Flyers.

"I will and same to you two." He replied and hurried off toward the arena.

"Well, Miss (L/n), ready to bash some heads?" Stoick asked. You grinned, pulling out your weapons.

"Even I have to admit, I'd be lying if I said I didn't need to blow off some steam on these idiots."

"Ha ha! That's what I like to hear! Skullcrush, up! Let's go!"

"Come on, Nightshade!" You followed Stoick as he took out the Flyers closest to the Great Hall.

"(Y/n), go around and take out as many as you can! I got the Great Hall! Go!"

"Aye, Chief!" You called and hurried off. You saw some Flyers up ahead. You grinned. "Nightshade, gve me everything you got!" She roared and fired at one of them, dodging a fireball from the other and getting in close before whipping around and smashing him off the Singetail with her club tail. You cheered. "Good girl!" The Signetails roared and flew off.

You saw more coming from behind you. You grinned, getting an idea. "Nightshade, let's do some dragon hopping!" You told her. She barked and charged them. They laughed, thinking that you were just crazy. It was crazy to charge them, but only if you hadn't already had a
