Devlin couldn't stand the smell of jail.

He stripped and placed his hands out.

The officer gave him an irritable look then sighed.

"Arms down."

Devlin scratched his back and cracked his neck.

The policeman searched him.

"Bend down and cough."

Devlin scrunched his eyes and did what he was told.

"Okay... You're done."

Once they were finished, they handed him a jumpsuit.

"Already..." Devlin muttered, angrily slipping it on. "Yep, is there a problem?" He growled, Devlin sneered at the man in front of him. "Ya... I'm not supposed to be in here." He mumbled.

"That's what they all say... Let's go." The officer muttered, eyeing his tattoo's, he opened the door to lead him to a cell. Devlin wondered if he would be alone this time, they stopped in front of his favorite photo booth, and waited. The woman lazily looked up at him and popped her gum.

The Catalina jail had an intense odor, police men and women scrambled around the office, whispering to each other, hearing the sound of the computer mouse clicking, and people coughing, irritated him. When they let him out of the holding cell; He let out a sigh of relief, he had been cramped in there with a piss smelling homeless man, and two other men who were obviously brought in there together, naked, angrily whispering to each other. It wasn't what he prepared himself for, he was used to it, but... It was too soon.

One of the officer's put the handcuffs back on him.

"He's hot..." He could hear one of the receptionist's say; As they eye balled him from the corner, he rolled his eyes and the woman in front of him snapped the picture.

He could hear her gasp, and then there was another wave of silence. "What's wrong Lima?" A male officer yelled from the other side of the room. "Um, I have to snap another photo of him." She mumbled, staring at the photo. "Why?" The officer yelled, Devlin figured it was the one taking him to his cell.

He walked over to her desk and took a long look at the picture. "Dude... Are you serious?" He annoyingly growled, he looked up from the computer screen and held it, then looked at Devlin. "So.. You got jokes huh? Straighten up and look ahead." He growled.

Devlin had no idea what they were talking about, he did what he was told, but had an itch so he furrowed his brow, the woman snapped the photo again and gasped even louder, Devlin instantly became annoyed.
"Whatever.. Just use the first photo I guess... This one's even weirder." The officer admitted, clearing his throat, he strolled over to Devlin and went to tighten his handcuffs, but Devlin did it for him. It startled him, he coughed and cleared his throat.

"Come with me." He muttered.

They passed a group of people sitting down in a chair handcuffed, the women out of the group widened their eyes once they seen him pass them. Someone whistled, Devlin just stared straight ahead. "So quick to put me in here.." He thought, he wanted to kick the man in front of him.

"Woah.. Woah, woah, woah, woah, what are you doing?" Another officer yelled running up to them. "Why?" The officer that ushered him asked. "Because.. Can't you see? It's a full house!" The man shouted, the officer looked back at him and grimaced; Devlin got a chance to see his name tag, it read 'Henry', Henry gave the man in front of them a dirty look, he didn't know what else to do. "Come on, let's go back to the desk." He grumbled and Devlin followed behind.

"Sit there." He pointed at a chair across from the receptionist's desk, she nervously looked down at her keyboard. "Pull up this guy's name; What did they bring him in here for?" He asked her, she pattered on the computer.

"Devlin Danielyan; Thirty years of age, ma-bla..." She paused and scratched her nose. "Well, a while back he was in prison for murder, and it looks like they added a felony.. But all charges were dropped... The case was dismissed; It says here, for today, failure to cooperate with an officer." She looked down on him and furrowed her brow. "I guess our fellow officer put that he threatened him..." She mumbled.

Devlin Tsk'd and didn't say anything.

"Well?... Did you threaten him?" The officer turned around and asked him, Devlin thickly grumbled.

"No."

"It say's here; He has something to do with this Jared Morichatto guy missing, that was on the news earlier." She muttered, giving Devlin the side eye, the officer turned and looked at the computer. "Where is this man?" Henry asked him, pointing at the screen, Devlin sighed. "With my father; He's a friend of mine, he did not trust the medical care he wos receiving here, becos they told him that he had PTSD.." The officer shrugged and widened his eyes. "Yeah.. Well, we don't have that great of a medical system here in this city.. So where is he now?" He curiously asked him, Devlin swallowed and straightened up, the cuffs were hurting his arms.

"I shouldn't have been an ass, and tried to show off." He annoyingly thought.

"My father recommended his heart specialist in Armenia to Jared's father, and they're out there now..." Devlin grumbled, both the officer and the woman looked at each other with shock. "And just like that huh... Boy I tell ya, these rich kids." Henry muttered.

He checked the computer screen again, and then gave Devlin a long look, he walked over to him and with his key, released the cuffs from his arms.

"You're free to go..."

Devlin sat in disbelief.

"What is this? Wot do you mean?"

"Look kid.. You heard em; We're a full house, and most of these people have done way worse than you, So.. Just... Take it as it is and go."

"You don't have to tell me twice." Devlin stood up, and breathed out a sigh of relief, he immediately began walking by a group of people that were handcuffed to the chair, waiting patiently.

"You lucky demon..." A man coughed out, Devlin didn't care, he could finally enjoy his evening.

Once he was changed back into his clothes and handed back the jumpsuit; The door slammed open, and his favorite person was pushed in.

"Oh shit." Devlin nervously thought.

Devlin; Who clearly was released, instantly pissed Hunter off, he had only been given a sedative for his leg, because he didn't have health insurance. They locked his leg into place and applied a metal brace for it, and immediately gave him back to the police.

He was extremely livid.

"Look what he did to my leg! And you're just going to let him go!?" Hunter shouted; The officer who released him quickly assessed the situation, Devlin who had no intentions of being in handcuffs again, tried to brush past Hunter. Hunter pulled out a sharp metal object from his pocket that he saved from the hospital that was used for his leg, and stabbed Devlin on the side of the stomach.

There were screams, and police officer's slamming Hunter to the ground, Devlin held his side and rushed out the door, leaving blood traces on the handle. He pulled up his shirt, and could see a deep gash, but could tell it wasn't too serious to go to the hospital for, he ripped his shirt, and kept going.

Katrina irritably sat on the couch on hold.

She had been on hold for thirty minutes, and her stomach grumbled; She uncomfortably shifted in her seat, she almost drifted off, when a sour voice roared in her eardrums. "He has been released... That's all I can tell you."

"I waited thirty whole minutes for this woman to tell me this?" She politely gritted out a "Thank you." Then hung up the phone. "Take that! Lady!" She scoffed; Leaning her head back on the couch, she had hoped that her hanging up on the woman would be an accomplishment, but she still felt shitty. "Well? What happened?" Jude asked, picking at his finger nails then flicking them on her carpet, Katrina scrunched her nose. "I can see your nasty finger nail, please pick it up." She mumbled, Jude embarrassingly bent down and picked up the long nail that had been ripped, and stood up to throw it in the trash.

"Sorry..." He quietly whispered.

Katrina felt terrible for snapping at him.

"No; I'm sorry, I'm being a bitch." She quickly groaned.

Ivan widened his eyes, and so did Jude.

"I think you need to get some rest." Ivan softly murmured. "Why?" Katrina asked in alert, Ivan sighed and looked at Jude for help, Jude gave him a flabbergasted look. "Well.. You have been cursing a lot ever since Melanie called you butterball... And now I'm really starting to think that you hate being called that." He mumbled.

Ivan quickly interrupted him.

"What he's trying to say is, I know Devlin being in jail is stressing you out, and this is your second time around the track with something like this, but... We've known Devlin for years, and him being in jail is.. Actually the most safest place for him right now."

Ivan and Jude found it to be the best place for him at the moment.

"She told me that he was just released." She muttered.

"Shit." Ivan thought; Seeing Hunter's leg didn't sit well with him.

Ivan looked down at the floor and then pulled out his phone. "I'm going to call again; I highly doubt that's possible." He murmured, Katrina gave him and agonizing facial expression. "No.. I don't think you're lying or anything, it's just, well... This has happened before.. Just... Trust."

Katrina nodded, and wrapped her blanket around herself, she began to rock.

When Ivan called, he could hear the same voice on the other line. "Catalina County Jail speaking, what can I do for you." She cheerfully said.

"Hi.. My friend called you earlier, about a friend of ours, his names Devlin... You told her he was just released, is there anything else you could give me?"

The silence on the other end angered him, but he didn't let Katrina see.

"Yes! Your friend has been released, as I told your lady friend before." She exclaimed.

She sounded relieved and perky all of a sudden.

He wanted to confuse her.

Ivan rolled his eyes and placed his hand on his forehead, and decided to mess with her for stressing Katrina out. "What lady?"

"A women called fifteen minutes ago asking about your friend-." Ivan cut her off. "And you gave her information.. What is wrong with you lady? Don't you know the concept of privacy!" He hung up, and seen Katrina giggling underneath the blanket, It made him feel better that she was calm.

Ivan peeped at the time and yawned.

"See.. She was being like that to me as well, it's nothing to stress about." He laughed.

"Thanks Ivan." Katrina softly whispered.

And then thought about how rude the woman was.

"That bitch had me waiting for her for thirty whole damn minutes... Thirty minutes is a lunch break! I should have hung up on her ass! Is this what they do for people who are dying? I've been to this police station countless of times to know that she could have easily checked on her stupid little computer screen and told me, and not have me wait, this is why I moved away from a shit city like this... Because of the people." She vented.

Once she was done ranting, she noticed that Ivan and Jude were giving her a crazy look so she quickly apologized and huffed.

Ivan gave Katrina and Jude a long look.

"I'm sure he's fine Katrina." Jude mumbled.

She nodded, she still felt like Devlin was in trouble for something. "It's weird to release him after breaking Hunter's leg, they must have not known that he did that then." She anxiously thought.

A knock at her door startled them all, she went to get it, but Jude beat her to the door. "I got it, you just sit and relax." He huffed, she sat back down and watched to see who it would be.

Jude answered and immediately shut the door.

"It's Devlin..." He rushed.

Katrina rubbed her arm. "What did you say?" She bewilderedly asked. "Why did you shut the door on him?" Ivan and Katrina exclaimed in unison, Ivan headed over to open it for Devlin, but Jude blocked his way. "Open the door." They could hear Devlin roughly say, Jude didn't budge, instead he whispered to him. "He's all bloody dude." Ivan squinted his eyes, and then swung the door open.

"Wot happened? Let me in." Devlin growled, pushing past the men.

"Why are you bloody?" Ivan quickly said, folding his arms.

"It's a long story." Devlin muttered, he couldn't believe his friends were treating him this way. "Why are you bloody bro? Just answer the question?" Jude exclaimed, holding on to the door handle, and realizing he held a tight grip so he closed it.

Devlin stared his friends down.

He didn't want to talk at the moment, he needed a shower and a glass of water.

"Don't worry abot it..." Was all he said.

"Who's blood is it?" Jude asked again shaking, and staring down at his pants. "It's mine.." Devlin quickly snapped.

"But I don't see any br-." Before Ivan could say anything, Devlin lifted up his shirt, and had a deep cut on his abs. "We're going to the hospital!" Ivan yelled at him. "What the hell happened to you?" He yelled louder, looking around for his keys, he was relieved that it wasn't someone else's.

"No..." Devlin quietly said. "I'm okay.. Jus get me a glass of water please; Know wat... Fuck it, I'm showering, I kin take care of it myself." He growled.

He slowly went up the stairs in silence.

"What happened?" Jude whispered.

As soon as they heard the shower turn on, the men talked.

"Man... Devlin broke another man's leg, this shit is serious." Jude exclaimed.

"So?" Ivan mumbled.

"Devlin know's what he's doing.. And you and him are such alike it scares me." Jude muttered, Katrina sat in silence, listening to the men talk. She wanted to go upstairs to see him, but was embarrassed from earlier, she acted like he was going away for life, she sighed and leaned her head closer to the couch pillow, she was exhausted.

Her phone rang and she lazily answered.

"Hello..."

"Is everything okay? Did you find Devlin?" Katrina had once again, completely forgotten about her family. "Yeah Mel, everything is fine." She softly murmured, Melanie let out a sigh of relief. "Shoot; Devlin might as well be apart of this family, since he's stressed us all out, you know? Well, I'll be sure to let the rest of the family know that you wish them well, I love you sis." Melanie exclaimed, Katrina smiled down at her phone. "I love you too." She murmured, and heard Melanie click off.

She heard the shower turn off, so she got up to get her first aid kit from the wall; She opened it, and pulled out the trusty box, while Ivan and Jude looked on. "So you got like; Secret compartments and shit, just lying around in your walls now?" Jude murmured, grinning at her, she smirked. "Just to let you know, this was Jared's idea, not mine." She sighed and pulled out a miniature peroxide bottle, she thought about him, and hoped he was okay. Devlin casually came down the stairs wearing boxers and no shirt, he rubbed his wet black hair and cracked his neck. "Here's that water you asked for." Ivan growled, throwing it to him, he caught the drink and took a swig. "I need someting stronger than dis." Devlin smirked, he looked down at his watch, he needed to get some sleep, and immediately book a flight back to Minerva.

When he sat down to find a flight, he was shocked to see the prices. "When did they go up?" He bewilderedly asked, looking down at his phone. "Er.. Earlier while you were in jail." Jude murmured, hoping Devlin could pay for their flight as well.

"Shit." Devlin thought to himself, he sighed and cracked his back, he had his second major meeting in the morning, and he didn't want to miss it. He called his assistant, and excused himself, he softly brushed past Katrina, rubbing her arm and went out on to the porch.

"Man we need to grow up..." Ivan exclaimed, sitting beside Katrina. "Maybe we should accept this job from him, I mean we could use the money." Ivan murmured, Jude nodded in agreement and Katrina sighed. "Must be nice..." She murmured, Ivan gave her soft smile. "You've got no worries girl; Your man can take care of you." He smiled, Katrina didn't want that, she also wanted to be successful, she didn't want to depend on anyone.. Especially any man.

"Being with a man like Devlin... I gotta stay on my toes." She joked, Jude laughed. "Yeah, you're so right." Ivan murmured, giggling, they heard the screen door open and Devlin step in. He spied the first aid kit on the coffee table, and picked up the tiny peroxide bottle, marveling at Katrina and her cuteness, he slowly went over to her, and leaned down for a kiss. The butterflies in her chest knotted together and she gave him a quick smooch, Devlin wasn't done, he kissed her again and rubbed the bottom of her chin, and placed himself beside her. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in, so that she could lay on his chest. "How's my princess..." He softly murmured, kissing her eyelids and forehead, Katrina rubbed his cut with her thumb. "Do you want me to help you?" She nervously asked him, Devlin gave her a half smile and swallowed. "No.. I'm fine." He grinned, Jude rolled his eyes.

"We're gonna go and get some sleep... It's late."

"I have to speak with you two abot something..." Devlin growled thickly. "Katrina... Could you excuse us, I'll join you as soon as I get done." He murmured, Katrina happily stood up but lost her balance, Devlin caught her bottom so that she could adjust herself; Embarrassed; She forgot her clumsiness was worse without Jared, she held her arm, smiled at the men and nodded, heading up the stairs. She was too tired, and laying down felt like heaven for her.

Reaching the top of the stairs, she yawned and could hear the men's voices fading, as she headed inside her room.

"So they just let you go... Like that?" Jude hoarsely whispered. "Ya... Hunter is still in jail." The men quietly nodded, Devlin got up and sat at the kitchen table and opened Katrina's first aid kit, he seen a needle and thread and smiled, pulling that out first.

"No way you're going to do it yours-." Jude whispered, but Devlin already got one thread in his wound without a wince. "Badass dude." Ivan murmured, smiling wide. "So... What do we do now? Those plane tickets are kinda pricey, I can't risk asking my family for any more money." Devlin snickered at Jude and rolled his eyes. "I bought them don't worry abot it." Jude's eyes widened. "Thanks bro, we owe you!" Devlin shrugged. "Don't forget wot I do for a living." Ivan smiled, and then thought about Hunter's leg and his smile faded. "Devlin... What was the point in breaking dudes leg? It wasn't that serious." He grumbled.

Devlin rolled his eyes, and got another thread done, when he tied it too tight, he winced, and stopped; Picking up a wipe and putting a tiny drop of peroxide on it, he softly dabbed it and kept going. "Sign up for a fight and this is the end results... He asked for it." Ivan got up from the chair to sit on the couch. "Yeah but... These things have consequences, you can't just go around breaking legs, he could sue you, you know? You and your whole company..." Ivan murmured, Devlin did another thread, and pulled a piece of his skin off of the cut, he couldn't tell if he was doing things correctly, and he didn't care. "So wat... Let him try.. I could sue him for stabbing me."

"Devlin..." Ivan murmured, scratching at his head, also taking in this new information.

"I'm not trying to
