The five friends spent pretty much every night practicing songs for the next three months leading up to the end of the school year. Gerard, Ray and Bob went on to become seniors, and Frank and Mikey left their sophomore days behind to become juniors. They were a tight-knit group, never apart from each other and never quarreling.

Summer break was when something in the group dynamic changed. It didn't really affect anything on the surface, but it definitely made a difference in the lives of two of them - Frank and Gerard. Despite the fact that Frank had always been very up front and physical, he was growing closer and closer to Gerard. And Gerard was falling for the little guy so quickly it sometimes made his heart ache.

Of course, Gerard didn't particularly realise that he was falling in love - and so fast - as he had never had a crush on anyone before. As such, he never made a move on Frank. He knew that Bob was falling for Mikey even more so than before, though, but he couldn't get a word out of his brother about any crushes he may have had to save his life.

Despite the large amount of love in the air, the band still practiced every day during the summer, and Gerard realised it was probably one of the greatest decisions of life when he agreed to form the band. His brother had come up with a name - My Chemical Romance. Everyone loved it. Gerard began to forget he was stuck in the wrong world due to how incredible it was in his current world. And that's when things began to get a little messy.

Gerard was singing through Vampires Will Never Hurt You when his vision harshly blurred all of a sudden. He thought nothing of it because he'd been very fatigued in recent week, but it often passed quickly, usually after a minute or so. But this time it didn't cease, and Gerard stopped singing mid lyric. The guys all stopped playing after they realised Gerard had gone quiet.

"Gee? Are you okay?" Frank asked worriedly, going over and hugging round his shoulders.

Gerard was too dizzy to blush, but he would have if he could. "J-Just gimme a minute. It's fatigue again, I think."

"We've been practicing for longer than usual this week. That might be why." Ray sighed.

"Only because we have a gig." Mikey pointed out.

"Our first gig," Bob mumbled. "But either way, we're pushing ourselves too hard. We're finding fault in every beat, every lyric and every riff even after we've changed each bit a million times. We've got everything down for Saturday, yet still we're delaying ourselves."

"We'll think about practice time later. It doesn't matter how this happened, because wondering about it isn't gonna help Gerard." Frank sighed, leading Gerard over to a chair in the corner and sitting him down. "Just take deep breaths, Gee," he whispered when he saw how pale the other boy was. Gerard did as he was told, taking long, shaky breaths.

Still, though, the dizziness remained, and Gerard was close to unconsciousness. He slumped against his crush heavily, panting.

"I think he's gonna pass out," Ray gulped. Gerard barely heard anything, but he tried to regain his senses.

"Lie him down," Bob suggested. "I'll get him some water."

Ray helped Frank to pick Gerard up and lie him down on the floor. Mikey shakily walked over to his brother's side and strokes across his forehead and through his hair, leaning down to kiss his nose.

"Y-You're gonna be okay, Gee," the younger brother whispered in the older brother's ear as Bob rushed off to get some water from inside his house. Gerard squeezed his hand as hard as he could once Mikey took it, though it was barely a pinch due to how tired and dizzy he was. He felt abject, like he wasn't going to get better. It had never lasted more than a minute before, and the constant nausea and pain was driving him insane. He knew he'd pass out soon if it didn't cease.

After Ray made him drink the water Bob brought back, Gerard felt a little better, but his whole body had already gone numb, and the drink didn't help him to feel anything. Frank leaned across and gently kissed his cheek. A few seconds later, he felt as fresh as a flower. He sprung to his feet and smiled. "I feel better now. I think it was the water." he then frowned heavily. "But I have no idea what caused that to happen. Especially since its recurring."

Mikey gazed at him worriedly after he got up. "Maybe you should rest for a few days... I'm worried." he hugged Gerard tightly, clearly disquieted.

"I'll be fine, little bro. I'm sure of it. But sure, I'll rest for a little while until the gig." Gerard promised, patting his back.

"We should quit practice today, though. Bob was right earlier. We fret too much. We have everything down; we just need one last practice right before the gig." Frank sighed.

"Yeah... I guess you're right." Ray nodded. "Especially after this. Though it never happened on that scale before, like Gerard said, it's occurred more than once, and we've seen that it's been totally random."

Gerard dipped his head. "Alright. If you wanna stop for a few days, that's fine."

"See you the night of the gig, okay?" Ray smiled, walking out. Bob said his goodbyes too and went into his house.

"Come on, Gee. Let's get going. You better get some rest, just in case," Mikey suggested. Gerard nodded. He felt fine, but he knew Mikey was worried, so he didn't want to object.

Frank caught his wrist as Mikey walked off to pack his equipment up. "Gee... can I have a hug?"

Gerard blushed and smiled, opening his arms. Frank embraced him and nuzzled against his chest. He did his usual whisper of 'I love you', which Gerard never heard, before he leaned back, staring up into an oblivious Gerard's eyes. Gerard cupped the other's cheek, and Frank blushed, slowly tilting his head up and closing his eyes. Gerard's breath hitched up in his throat, but he bent down regardless, ready for his first kiss. Until Mikey made a coughing noise and Gerard leapt back. Mikey didn't see them about to kiss, as he was behind Gerard's back. A little forlorn, Gerard shuffled over to his brother.

"Bye, Gee." Frank whispered with a somewhat sad, shy smile. Gerard waved and left Frank there, following his brother home. The short teen sighed dreamily, smiled to himself, and packed away his guitar.
