~Y/n pov~

I went to the shadow palace too, right after Asta and Yuno but they had already run off.

So of course, I travelled to the noisiest place.

Asta would be there, probably.

"Storm of blades."

I entered this room and saw swords flying down from the sky.

Rhya was unconscious on the floor and Licht was in front of this platform.

He was being suspended in the air by some iron rods which were pierced through his body, blood dripping on the floor.

Mimosa was nearby but she looked worn out.

On the platform was this demonic creature.

Are demons real?

I mean elves are real...

Yuno and Asta were both avoiding the blades as they came down.

"Y/n!" Yuno yelled when he noticed me.

I created a lightning shield as a sword almost hit Yuno.

He was distracted.

We were all flung to the ground.

The demon smirked, "I will not allow anyone to get in my way. Are you awake?"

Licht looked up weakly when he realised he was being spoken too.

I tried to stand up but it was hard to move with all this rubble.

"Thanks to you, the time that had stopped from me will finally begin moving again. I comm be you, hero. Five centuries ago, they got in my way, and though I was close, my incarnation failed." The demon explained, "You were the next one I set my sights on. A new sacrifice that was loved by mana, still young, and swayed oh so easily. Tragedy and a sense of mission... That was enough for you to dabble in forbidden magic, which allowed the elves' souls to be reincarnated in human bodies."

"What are you talking about? The one.. the one who reincarnated us is Licht!"

Was that not Licht? So it's someone else.

"Wrong. Because I was the one who reincarnated you elves." The demon laughed.

"It's a lie... it's a lie... I'm... like Licht." The elf began to chant to himself with a look of shoc
on his face.

"Excellent work, my pawn."

The elf let out a scream.

His grimoire started turning black and then he started to lose consciousness.

"Elves and humans... your dreams and ambitions make the best playthings!"

"Don't give me that crap!"

I finally managed to stand up and get the rubble of as did Yuno and Asta.

"You just show up outtta nowhere and make a mess of everything." Yuno stated.

"You're super strong and scary..." Asta added.

"But who the hell do you think you are?!" I continued.

Yuno blew away the rubble that surrounded us.

My mana flared as I got ready to attack.

"Storm of blades."

I created a shield around myself and the swords simply bounced off.

Asta and Yuno combine their powers to knock away the blades.

All they managed to do was make a cut on his arm.

"Heal."

I took this chance to attack from behind.

I coated my hand in lightening and when to punch him.

My eyes widened in horror when he turned around.

If he tried to attack me now there's no way to dodge.

I was almost attacking and I couldn't back out now.

My attack stopped midair as he stuck his arm threw my torso.

I coughed up blood.

The demon smirked and pulled his arm out.

I tried to remain in the air but I couldn't so I dropped to the ground and tried to cushion my landing.

What the hell? I thought I had completely concealed my presence.

Was all that training not enough?

....of course

Even with all that training and a four leaf clover... I'll never be better than them.

Asta and Yuno are amazing and I'm just not...

I can't die here.

There's no way I can just give up and die.

"Y/n!" Asta and Yuno yelled.

"Heal." The wounds on the demon closed up.

It was then I noticed the gaping hole on his back closing up.

My attack hit after all?

It was pointless since he just healed.

I fell to my knees and leaned against the wall, breathing heavily.

My vision faded in and out.

I can't go to sleep.

I can't die.

I won't die.

Not yet. I'm not done yet.

What happened next was almost a blur but I managed to stay awake.

Licht or whoever it was turned into a dark elf.

His skin was discoloured and the whites of his eyes were now black.

He engaged in a battle with Asta.

I don't know how... but somehow Asta was able to knock him back to his senses.

Asta's so amazing...

Is help coming? I sure hope so...

Yuno and Asta are too busy fighting.

I then noticed Mimosa had crawled her way over to me.

"Mimosa... you're injured." I managed to choke out.

Something wet hit my hand.

I looked up and noticed her crying.

"You're way more injured than me. Please don't die." She sobbed, "I have to go something."

My eyes widened.

Now I had more reason to live... for my friends and for them - Yuno, Luck, Noelle, Charmy and Gauche.

"There's no way in hell I'll die here." I smirked, "Though if you can do any healing even just a bit it'll be a big help."

Mimosa nodded and started to try and heal me.

She did manage to heal me a bit but it seems like she had pushed herself too much.

The bleeding had stopped now which is good but if I moved it would definitely start bleeding again.

"You did well." I told Mimosa just before she fainted.

It was a miracle I was even alive.

I wasn't going to question it. I'm glad I'm alive.

I controlled my breathing and concentrated on staying awake.

Even though the bleedings stopped, there's no guarantee I'll wake up if I go to sleep.

This weird purple thing appeared and started devouring everything in its path.

My eyes widened as it came towards me.

Is this how I die?

I closed my eyes.

I guess I really will die here...

Someone scooped me up in their arms and flew away from the area.

Slowly, I opened my eyes and saw Yuno staring at me with a worried expression.

I smiled softly, "You saved me."

Yuno bit his lip, "I should've sooner."

"No, it's my fault for being a reckless idiot."

Yuno frowned and held me closer, "Don't do that again, you idiot."

He bent down and placed a kiss on my lips.

It was over just as fast as it had begun.

He pulled away and stared at me with a loving expression.

My cheeks flushed as I buried my face into his chest.

Yuno laughed softly.

There was a sudden bright light.

I peaked over Yuno's shoulder and saw the real Licht with his sword raised in the air.

He cast a spell at the demon.

"Beware the wrath of the elves."

There bright light intensified as he shot it at the demon.

With all the new and powerful people here.

I was sure we would win.

I allowed myself to relax, although that may have been a mistake as I felt my consciousness start to fade.

The next time I awoke, I was in the infirmary.

All the pain was gone.

I tried to sit up but I couldn't.

And there they were...

Charmy was resting on my chest and stomach.

She had sprawled herself across the upper part of my body.

Luck was next to me, curled into my side.

He has a faint smile on his face as he snuggled into my warmth.

Noelle was holding my hand, my head was on the bed right next to mine.

Yuno was on the other side doing the same thing.

And finally, Gauche.

He was sat on a chair and had his head resting on my lap.

I placed my hand on his soft hair and ruffled it lightly.

I'm so glad that I'm alive.

Tears rolled down my cheeks as everything suddenly hit me.

I almost died. I'm not ready for that.

But in reality, no one ever is... it just happens.

Hurriedly, I wiped the tears and smiled.

I'm so glad that you're all here.

Yuno groaned and opened his eyes.

He shot up when he noticed I was awake.

"Y/n!"

This woke up the others.

"I'm so glad." He helped me sit up and then pulled me into a tight hug.

My shoulder began to feel wet.

Is Yuno crying...

But he said...

I'm never gonna cry again. I'll become the Wizard King too! I'll get stronger, and protect you and everyone else!

I ran my hands through his hair and whispered words of comfort.

He pulled away from the hug and quickly wiped away the evidence of tears.

Yuno smiled softly as he gazed at me.

"You're not the only one who's relieved, idiot!"

I saw Noelle huffing at Yuno.

"If you wanted a hug you could've just said so." I teased.

This time she didn't retort like usual.

Her face scrunched up and she looks like she was about to cry.

She pushed everyone away from me and then jumped on me, hugging me tightly.

"Don't do that again!" She sobbed loudly, "I was so scared. I love you, you idiot."

I froze.

What?

My face turned bright red.

"Ah no!" Noelle hurriedly pulled away from the hug and sat in front of me on the bed, "That's not what I meant I- Oh no! I admitted my feelings I'm so embarrassed."

It seems like she forgot I was actually here as she started talking to herself.

I felt my cheeks go back to their normal colour as I started laughing.

"Don't laugh." Noelle whined, "Stop it."

"Calm down, you idiot." Gauche sighed and pushed her away, "Hey."

He sat next to me on the bed and looked at me lovingly.

"Hey." I whispered back.

I noticed tears building up in his eyes and he quickly pulled me into a hug.

My head was tucked under his as he buried his face in my hair.

His held me close for a few moments.

"My goddess!" Charmy cried, "Here eat this! You must be exhausted!"

She crawled into my lap and started offering me food.

I gratefully took it and ate it.

My strength was gradually coming back to me.

"If you died, I would've dragged you back and killed you myself." Luck stated, a crazy look in his eyes.

It disappeared a few seconds later and his smile widened, "Good thing you're okay."

He patted my head as I finished eating.

I wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him down.

He let out a shocked noise when I did this.

Leaning closer, I whispered in his ear.

"You don't have to put on an act when you're with me."

Luck wrapped his arms around my tightly.

He pulled away slightly and grinned, "Group hug."

Everyone but Charmy was reluctant but Luck grabbed them and pulled them in.

"I love you guys." I sniffled slightly.

"See?! She said it back." Noelle bragged.

"No she said it to me!"

"She said it to all of us, so let's make this work."

I watched as they all started to argue.

I laughed lightly as I watched them.

The capital was slowly being rebuilt and everything was good now.

If only I knew what was to come.

If only it all stayed peaceful.

But of course... that's not how stories work!
