(Skye's Pov)

After school is over for the day I head to my locker and put the things I don't need away when suddenly I feel someone jump on me calling out my name it startling me. I quickly turn around seeing Cedar stand there grinning at me and Teddy is behind him smiling I giving them both a look pouting. "You scared me." Cedar gives me an apologetic look. "Sorry. And sorry about lunch earlier. The guys are being a little overprotective." I shrug. "It's fine I understand that someone bad threatened them and that they're wary. What's up with Jake though? He acts like I smell bad or something." They both look at each other before turning to me. "Um we don't know he's been acting weird today." I raise an eyebrow at them. "Your hiding something." They look at each other nervously before Teddy gives me an apologetic look. "He thinks your trying to use your powers on him or something so he doesn't really like you. We tried telling him you don't use your powers at all but he's wary and doesn't believe us." I immediately frown feeling hurt and a little sad. "But I haven't even really so much as looked at him let alone been able to manipulate his emotions or anything." They both pat my shoulders reassuringly. "You know what lets go get some ice cream. I'm buying." I go to protest but Teddy holds up a hand cutting me off and Cedar starts dragging me away making me sigh. Once we reach the ice cream shop we order the flavors we want then take a seat at a small table. I dip my spoon into my cup of chocolate ice cream as Teddy eats his strawberry and Cedar licks his mint chocolate chip cone. We then all start talking about our families and our interests and things I actually having a good time. Once we're finished eating our ice cream I check the time and frown. "I better get home I still need to help my papa unpack." They both nod in understanding and Cedar offers to walk home with me while Teddy waits for the boys car to come pick him up since he lives with them. We both wish Teddy goodbye then immediately start walking until we part ways at my house. Once inside I'm surprised to see most of our things unpacked. "Whoa how'd you get almost everything done?" My papa looks up from the couch and smiles. "Ms Ivy helped me out today since she had a day off. How was school?" I smile a little. "It was okay. The good thing is I made two friends. The bad thing is their mates and other friends don't trust sirens." He immediately frowns. "And why is that?" I sit down and immediately tell him the story Cedar told me about the half siren half Veela girl and my papa listens with a frown on his face. "Well just be yourself and show them you aren't like that." I nod and rub my eyes tiredly his expression softening. "Come on I'll help you with homework and then you can go to bed." I nod getting my assignments out and we hurriedly work on them until I'm done and I wish him a goodnight before going to bed.
