Chapter 3

"oh" that was all Kenma responded with. His face seemed to fall for a split second, but was quickly replaced with his usual monotone expression, shoyo must have imagined it.

It feels good that now somebody other than the team knew. Made it feel more real? Is that dumb? It wasn't like Oikawa and him were hiding or anything, just, nobody seemed to notice. They didn't have any classes together and mainly hung out outside of school. One thing Shoyo was sure of, his fangirls won't be happy when they find out.

No! He shouldn't worry about that yet, right now it was just me and Tooru, perfectly together.

Shoyo smiled at the thought, then realized that he had spaced out and was quickly approaching his house.

"This one's mine Kenma!" The older boy just nodded in response. Shoyo dug around for his keys for a few moments before pulling them out triumphantly. Stepping onto the doormat, he held the door for Kenma.

"Shoyo?" He heard his mom call from the kitchen as the two boys entered the threshold.

"Hey mom! I'm home and I brought a friend!"

Hinata's mother's small figure peaked out from the kitchen.

"Hello! Lovely to meet you, I'm Shoyo's mother. And you are?"

"Kenma Kozume, nice to meet you too" he mumbled quietly.

Was it just Shoyoor was he talking even less than usual? He shook it off, Kenma was probably just nervous around adults

Mrs. Hinata wiggled her eyebrows at her son.

"He's a quiet one, Shoyo. Make sure not to scare him off." she giggled quietly and went back to the kitchen.

"Sorry about her" I chuckled nervously "she can be a bit much"

"It's fine," Kenma answered quietly, eyes glued to the floor. Shoyo grabbed him by the hand and led him upstairs.

The younger boy flopped down on the bed with a thump, as Kenma sat in my desk chair. "So," Shoyo said pulling out a small notebook "tell me about yourself"

Shoyo sunk down into his beanbag and let out a sigh.

"I'm beat, who knew getting to know you would be so difficult. You're too quiet." He whined.

"Plus, ever since our walk home you've been extra quiet"

"Now you're just imagining things, Shoyo-kun," Kenma stated.

Shoyo crossed his arms in mock annoyance, and scooted his beanbag over to Kenma's. Shoyo put on the cutest pout He could physically muster "why won't you shareeee Kenma-San?"

Kenma's reply was normal as always, a simple "I'm just not that interesting." He shrugged. Kenma's voice was monotone but Shoyo could've sworn He had seen the slightest of smiles on the older boy's face, if only for a split second.

Ha, so he doesn't hate me, that's progress. For a moment the two just sat in comfortable silence, Kenma still buried in some game on his phone.

Inexplicably, Shoyo found himself carefully observing his new friend. The curve of his jawline, his two toned hair, the way the sunlight from the window shone on his pale skin, contrasting heavily with his bright red hoodie.

The silence was disturbed when Kenma suddenly spoke up, "Um, do you, buy any chance, have something I could eat? I didn't get a chance to eat lunch today"

"Oh my god! I can't believe you didn't tell me!" Shoyo glanced down at his watch, the time reading 6:00 pm already.

"Would you like to stay for dinner? We're having udon." Kenma hesitated briefly before cracking one of his rare smiles, "if it wasn't to much trouble, yes I'd like that"
