"Looking a bit ragged, aren't we, Sirius? Finally the skin reflects the madness within." Lupin said, completely ignoring the four students he had taught for most of the year. Robyn felt betrayed, angry, scared. She wanted to laugh, let the sound rip through the room and laugh more.

"You'd know all about the madness within, wouldn't you, Remus?"

The two raggedy men regarded eachother, the moment taut with tension, then, like they were old pals, they embraced eachother, patting the others back brotherly.

"No! I trusted you! I covered up for you. And all this time you've been his friend!" Hermione cried, her eye's filling with tears and her voice cracking.

Her body was rigid with fury. She pointed a finger a Lupin. "He's a werewolf! That's why he's been missing classes!"

Ron, Harry and Robyn stared, dumbfounded, at Lupin. Sirius howled, looking bitterly amused. Remus eyed him then turned back to the four students.

"How long have you known?" Remus asked.

"Since Professor Snape set the essay."

"You're the brightest witch of your age I've ever met, Hermione." Lupin replied with a tight smile.

"Yes, you glow like the sun. And you howl at the moon. Enough talk! He dies. Now. If you won't do it with me, Remus, I'll do it alone."

"Wait, Sirius --" Lupin cut in.

Ron shivered in the corner. He hated how Sirius kept looking in his direction. His leg throbbed with pain and he felt feverish.

Harry stood, his wand stiffly at the side of him. He could not believe Lupin would betray them like that. He had helped Harry fight the Dementors. He had warned Harry about Sirius. He had told him how lovely his parents were. And all he did was lie. He had lied to him all year. It made Harry want to kick the wall and scream out in rage and despair. Why was everything so confusing? Why did it always involve him? He stared at his Professor and Godfather numbly, not sure what to think anymore. He was not sure what to do anymore. He felt hopeless.

Hermione, now she felt the most betrayed of them all. She had kept Lupin's secret. Even from her three best friends too whom she tells them everything. She was scared, angry. She wanted to get out of the Shrieking Shack and take Ron up to the Hospital Wing to see if he was okay. She also felt hopeless.

"I did my waiting! Twelve years of it! In Azkaban! Trust me, you wouldn't have lasted a week!" Sirius barked, his face crinkling in rage. He sounded insane, deranged, psychotic.

Lupin eyed Black, then nodded curtly.

Robyn stared at Lupin, horrified, as a twisted grin found its way on to Sirius' face. It looked strange on him, the smile. It made him look younger, more youthful. It made him look handsome, like he once was back when he was younger.

Robyn wanted to cry, scream and do nothing. She felt numb to the bone, not sure what to do and not sure what to feel. She felt disconnected. She couldn't stand the thought of Sirius touching Harry. She had had too many nightmares about it to last a lifetime and she just could not believe Professor Lupin was helping him. He had helped both her and Harry when they needed it, and now he was chucking it all away. All their trust.

"All right then. As you wish..." Lupin said, solemnly.

"No!" Harry and Robyn yelled in unison, horror-struck.

Robyn felt tears fill her eyes as she stared at Remus with frightened but pleading eyes.

"Professor, please! Stop this!" Robyn cried, desperation coating her words as her body started to shake.

Lupin said nothing and only flicked his wand when Harry raised his own, making Harry's wand soar into the air.

Furious, Harry eyed Black murderously.

"You betrayed my parents! You sold them to Voldemort!" Harry spat at Sirius. He was stalling. Or maybe he simply wanted to get a weight off his chest.

"It's a lie! I never would've betrayed James and Lily!" Black denied, his voice hinting pain.

"Harry! You've got to listen --" Lupin pleaded.

"Did he listen! When my mother was dying! Did he hear her screaming!" Harry shouted in rage, his voice breaking with pain and his eyes dulling.

"No! I wasn't there! And I'll regret it the rest of my life!" Harry's eyes flashed to Sirius.

"Someone else betrayed your parents, Harry. Someone in this room right now. Someone who, until quite recently, I believed to be dead." Professor Lupin reasoned, trying to get Harry to believe the truth. Hermione, Ron and Robyn stayed quiet, not really knowing what to say.

"He's as good as dead."

"What're you talking about? There's nobody here." Harry said, confused.

"Oh yes there is..." Sirius turned to Ron and crooned a cruel sing song. "Come out, come out, Peter. Come out, come out and play..."

Ron drew back from Black's demented gaze.

"You're mad..." Ron squeaked, his face going even more pale, if possible.

Robyn eyed the frantic rat that was wriggling around in Ron's enclosed hands and she felt curious and confused. Her eye's flickered up to where Black was stood and his eye's were glued to Ron's hands.

The rat. What does Sirius Back want with the rat? I thought he was after Harry?

Robyn noticed Harry also had his gaze on the rat. She could see all the cogs in his head spinning as he pieced together everything.

He knew. He knew something that Ron, Hermione and Robyn didn't. He knew what Lupin and Sirius were after. But how? This deepened Robyn's confusion. But her fear slowly began to slip away. Sirius was no harm to Harry nor was he going to hurt Ron, so she found herself more at peace but she still stayed cautious, her wand still in her hand.

Professor Lupin and Sirius Black both raised their wands, when suddenly, the door crashed open again.

"Expelliarmus!" Everyone turned to find Professor Snape standing in the doorway, a smug smirk on his thin lips. Lupin's and Sirius' wands flew away from them, Snape catching them.

"Ah, vengeance is sweet. How I hoped I'd be the one to catch you." Snape drawled as his black eyes eyed Sirius.

"Severus --" Lupin began.

"I told Dumbledore you were helping your old friend into the castle. And here's the proof." Snape taunted, his eyes glittering.

"Brilliant! And -- as usual -- dead wrong. Now give us our wands back. Remus and I have a bit of unfinished business to tend to." Sirius walked up to Snape but Severus only pointed his wand at Sirius' neck.

"Give me a reason. I beg you."

"Don't be a fool, Severus!"

"He can't help it. It's a habit by now." Sirius said, a light smirk lighting his face.

"Quiet, Sirius!" Lupin hissed.

Clicking his tongue, Snape said: "Listen to you two. Quarreling like an old married couple. The creature and the criminal."

"Piss off." Sirius hissed, the foul words flowing off his tongue like he had no problem with swearing.

"Witty as ever I see. Tell me, will you be so irreverent when I turn you over to the Dementors?" Sirius flinched at Snape's words.

Snape smirked. "Do I detect a flicker of fear? One can only imagine what it must be like to endure the Dementor's Kiss. It's said to be unbearable to witness. But I'll do my best."

"After you." Snape drawled, gesturing to the door.

Robyn didn't know what came over her but she couldn't let Snape take Sirius away. He knew something. She wanted to give him time to explain.

In a blur, Robyn rushed over to a dusty table where Lupin had placed Harry's wand and grabbed it.

"Harry!" Robyn called and as soon as he looked at her, she chucked him his wand. Harry caught it with ease and both of them aimed their wands at Severus.

"Expelliarmus!" The raven haired boy and brunette girl yelled together, sending Snape crashing into an old bed, the frame crumbling on top of him, leaving him unconscious. Sirius and Lupin grabbed their wands.

"You attacked a teacher. Harry. Robyn." Hermione uttered in shock. Harry looked quite shocked himself but soon shook it off.

"We have to let them explain. If they don't want to kill Harry, then they are no real harm." Robyn turned to Hermione, her face determined and her body shook with adrenaline.

Harry turned to Sirius. "You said Peter before. Peter who?"

"Pettigrew. He was at school with us. We thought he was a friend." Lupin explained, looking quite pained at the subject.

"No. Pettigrew's dead. He killed him." Harry pointed at Black. Robyn and Hermione didn't know what to do, they just watched the scene fold out in front of them, shocked but no longer scared.

Black let out a mirthless laugh.

"I thought so, too. Until you mentioned seeing Pettigrew on the Map." Lupin said softly, his eye's pleading Harry to believe him.

"The Map was lying then --" Harry interjected, not wanting to believe what he was hearing. He had pieced it together and it sounded impossible.

"The Map never lies. Pettigrew's alive. And he's right there." Black pointed at Ron who shrunk away, going white with fear.

"M-me? It's crazy..."

"Not you, you idiot. Your rat." Sirius rolled his eye's, his voice harsh.

"Scabbers? Scabbers has been in my family for --"

"Twelve years. A curiously long life for a common garden rat. He's missing a toe, isn't he?" Sirius Black interjected, bitterly, pulling out a newspaper clipping and showing Ron. It was a picture of the Weasley's when they went to Egypt, Scabber's sitting on Ron's shoulder, showing his missing toe.

"So what?" Ron said, confused.

Hermione looked equally as confused but Robyn staggered forward and Sirius smirked, knowing she had realised.

"No way, that's impossible!" Robyn muttered but continued. "All they could find of Pettigrew was his --" Robyn looked at Harry as he said this the same time she did. Her eye's were wide with disbelief and Harry was having an internal battle with himself aswell.

"Finger. Dirty coward cut it off so everyone would think he was dead. Then he transformed into a rat." Sirius finished, his eye's showing nothing but rage.

Harry stared into Sirius' sunken eyes, wanting to believe. Desperate to believe. He glanced at Ron, his agonized face. Scabbers squirmed violently in Ron's hands.

"Show me." Harry stated, finally deciding. Robyn took another step forward, wanting to see everything.

Lupin and Black turned to Ron. Ron held Scabbers closer to him, protectively.

"What are you going to do to him?" Ron asked, fearfully.

Remus and Sirius exchanged a glance. "Together." Sirius confirmed.

With that, Lupin took out his wand and, as one, he and Black cast a stream of blue-white light. Robyn did not know what spell it was and even Hermione looked slightly befuddled as she looked at the light emitting from Sirius' and Lupin's wands.

Scabbers twisted madly in midair, and in a flash he was a short middle aged man with thinning hair and grubby hands.

Robyn gasped, Harry looked shocked, Ron looked repulsed and Hermione looked like she was about to faint.

"S-Sirius... R-Remus. My old friends." Peter stuttered, his hands twitching in front of his face.

"I really hope I never sounded like that." Robyn muttered to herself, making Harry crack a grin.

Neither, Sirius or Lupin spoke, only glared at the small lump in front of them.

Peters watery eye's darted towards the window's and door. Suddenly, he made a break for it but Sirius grabbed him and pulled him back with ease.

Peter's nose twitched, his gaze finding Harry's. His hands fluttering nervously, revealing a missing index finger. Harry's eye's hardened.

"Harry! Look at you! Y-you look just like your father. Like James. We were the best of friends, he and I --"

"Shut up!" Sirius barked, cutting off Peter's stuttering.

"I didn't mean to! The Dark Lord, you have no idea the weapons he possesses! Ask yourself what you would have done, Sirius. What would you have done!" Pettigrew wailed, falling onto his knees, pleading for everyone to leave him be.

"Died! Died rather than betray my friends! And you should have realized, Peter, if Voldemort didn't kill you..."

"We would." Lupin finished and Robyn nodded fairly, finding herself agreeing with Sirius and Lupin. She would never betray her friends, no matter how scared she got. She would much rather deal with pain and suffering then having to live with the fact she was the reason her best friend's were dead. She found herself not hating Lupin anymore. In fact, Harry, Robyn and Hermione all trusted him again. Ron on the other hand, was still scared stiff. And in pain.

"No... please... you can't..." His eye's darted to Ron. "Ron! Haven't I been a good friend? A good pet? You won't let them kill me, will you? I was your rat..." Ron drew back in disgust.

Pettigrew turned to Hermione. "Sweet girl. Clever girl. Surely you won't let them..."

His eye's darted to Robyn. "Pretty girl. You're just like me. You must know what it's like. The fear. The loneliness. Never feeling accepted. You can't let them! Don't let them!"

Robyn stayed silent, her heart feeling sorry for the guy. She knew all too well what he was going on about. She still would not betray her friends and with that in mind, she knew what had to be done. He had to be killed.

As one, Lupin and Black raised their wands, pointing them directly at Pettigrew's face. He shrunk back trembling, closing his eyes in fear.

"No." Harry said abruptly. Robyn looked at him in shock but he sent her a look, so she stepped back, the words that she was going to say disappearing into oblivion.

Pettigrew opened his eye's and Lupin and Black looked at Harry in shock and disbelief.

"Harry, this man..." Lupin began, pointing a finger at the rat.

"I know what he is. But we'll take him to the castle." Harry said solemnly.

Pettigrew rushed up to Harry and held on to him. Robyn's nose scrunched up in disgust and so did Harry's.

"Bless you, boy! Bless you --"

"Get off! I said we'd take you to the castle. After that, the Dementors can have you."

(Yay. We did all of the talking. Now the story gets even more interesting. This chapter is over 2000 words long, so if you don't like long chapters I'm sorry but I still have alot of the story to write and I don't want the story to be too long. I'm hoping I will have finished before I pass 35 chapters. But who knows. Anyway, hope you enjoy. Bye)
