"Hey mister?" a small child said tugging on Dabi's trouser leg, he turned around to see a small girl who looked very similar to a certain UA student but just couldn't put his finger on who.
"what do you want?" he sighs growling grumpily but surprised he hadn't scared her by the many scars he had covering his body.
"Do you know what street this is!"
(Y/n) asks,
(Y/n)'s siblings had always said to her two main things, 'whenever you are lost always ask someone where you are' well that's what her older Brother Shoto said to her when they usually walk home together, he had made sure she knew exactly where they lived just in case, secondly 'never judge someone by how they look, it may be apart of their quirk,'

"This is (random/street/name)," Dabi sighed (Y/n) looked at him carefully thinking "will you help me find (home/street)?" he nods as yet again that street also sounded very familiar.

"anyway what's your name, mines
(Y/n)!" the child said jumping excitedly, "Dabi," he replied in a monotone voice.
(Y/n) faced him to get a proper look at his face, "Woah you have pretty blue eyes like my big brother and my papa!" she said squealing excitedly, that's when it clicked, she must be related to Shoto Todoroki, that peppermint boy he fought earlier that year, who knew the old man decided to have another kid,

The kid continued to blabber on about blue eyes, "like I only have them when I activate my quirk!" this drew his interest, "What quirk do you have?" Dabi asks, his curiosity getting the better of him although he wasn't expecting too much or else he knew Endeavor would be training this poor kid through a lot of sweat and tears, "my quirk's just like my big brother's, half ice, half fire and I have a forcefield, what's yours?" the child looks back at Dabi eagerly, "I also have a fire quirk but it's blue," he shrugs he was thrown off by her quirks, they seem quite powerful, but she doesn't look like she was vigorously trained.
"do you want to be hero when you grow up kid?" he asks out of the blue, "yes! I want to be just like my big brother, he's training to be a pro hero,"
Dabi doesn't reply taking in the information, "What are you?" she asks,
"Eh, just a regular citizen," he lied, not wanting to tell her that he was, in fact, a villain who had hurt her brother,
"well I think you're very nice," (Y/n) tells him giving him a toothy smile, which makes Dabi smile slightly, not too noticeable but enough for (Y/n) to see.

by this time (Y/n) had slipped her small hand around a couple of his much larger fingers, at first Dabi stiffened from her kind touch

but slowly got used to it, they turned the last corner and there before the pair was the Todoroki house, "Thank you Dabi, for helping me get home!" she said hugging the tall man, before skipping to her front door to be greeted by her elder siblings, Dabi smiled to himself as he stood in the shadows watching the 3 sibling greet (Y/n).

"are you okay, we're sorry i forgot to come get you, i thought Shoto or Natsuo was going to go turned out they thought i had gone," Fuyumi apologised softly.

"A nice man helped me get home!" the small girl said pointing into the darkness, the three siblings turned to see no one, "Well glad you're back," Fuyumi said picking her up, they turned around but before closing the door Dabi could see their old man Endeavor in the distance, making Dabi's blood boil but slowly calming down as the realisation that Endeavor  must have been doing something right these days as the youngest (Y/n) seemed really happy to be home with everyone.

Dabi looked at the sort of 'happy' family and envied them, wishing that was what it was like when he and his three younger siblings like were little.
The front door of the Todoroki house closed shutting him out, he walked further into the darkness smiling to himself.

'At last, my old man's doing something right for once'

Here's #2 of the many todoroki family I've got lined up, but this is loosely based on the theory of how Dabi is actually the eldest Todoroki, Toya who 'died'

also I've just had a thought so if you had a fire quirk but couldn't quite control it imagine if Shoto or Endeavor gives you a fire blanket at night just in case you set something on fire lmao
