Natasha stared at the door, she hadn't moved all evening. It was already nine o'clock and she had been there since six o'clock. Steve and Sarah were in the living room, they had a clear view of Natasha, neither one dared speak to her right now.

"How long do you think she's gonna be there?" Sarah asked

"All right if she has to," Steve answered. "I'm afraid to make any sudden movements."

"I think she's gonna burn a hole through the wall," Sarah said.

"Sarah, why don't you go get ready for bed?" Natasha asked, startling both Steve and Sarah since she hasn't spoken up until that point.

"And miss the show? Nah I wanna see where this goes," Sarah

"Do you want one of your own?" Natasha asked.

"No mama'" she answered and quickly ran upstairs. Even when talking to her, Natasha didn't move her gaze. Steve wanted to say something to her, the only thing was he didn't know what to say.

Natasha and James have always had a very special relationship. He was her first baby, before James she didn't think she could ever have a child, so when they had James it was like her maternal instincts kicked in and she didn't want anything to take him away from her. Sarah was the same way, it was like they were both apart of her and the thought of something happening to either of them scared her. She couldn't say that about a lot of things, but if anything were to happen to her she didn't know if she could come back from that.

Steve could see the fear in her eyes, he could see that she was stopping herself from walking out the door to go track him down. She was having a conflict with herself and there was no end in sight. Steve didn't like her beating herself up over this, so when James gets home and gets a yelling from his mom, he's gonna have to sit him down and talk to him.

"At the risk of being yelled at..." He started carefully. "I think you should just sit down. Sit down and relax"

"What if something happened to him, Steve?" She started, her voice was now broken and hurting. "What if he needs our help? It's already dark and he knows he should be home by now Steve."

"Natasha, he's fine. He's gonna be in a hell lot of trouble when he comes back home but I know he's fine. Wanna know how I know that?" He asked, and she didn't answer, still not being able to look at him.

"How?" She asked, barely audible.

"Because you are still standing there nice and strong," he said. "Natasha you are so emotionally connected to these kids that I know that they are okay if you are okay. You are the best mother in the world. You are amazing, standing there waiting for your son to come back home. Not many mothers do that. Don't try and criticize yourself for nothing."

"I just want him to be okay." She said.

"I understand," he said. "That's the mother inside of you." He smiled. "How about I calm your mind just a little bit more?" He smirked, Natasha turned over to him and just smirked.

"Are you trying to seduce me, Rogers?" She asked, back to her normal voice. Steve waited just a moment before speaking, however before he could talk someone opened the door. Before anyone could see who it was Natasha's angry replaced her giddy feeling to her husband. "Where the hell have you been?"

"Language," Steve muttered under his breath.

"Mom," James said quickly being interrupted.

"Do you realize that it is dark out? That you should have been home hours ago. Imagine my surprise when I call Morgan and ask if you were over there and turns out she hasn't seen you all day."

"You were calling my friends!?" James yelled. "That's an invasion of my privacy!"

"I don't fucking care! I was worried about you! I haven't seen you all day and it turns out you didn't even go to school as you promised me you would! Where were you, James." She was angry, her voice could probably be heard down the block.

"I was out. Enjoying my life without anyone breathing down my neck!" He yelled.

"Don't you yell at your mother young man," Steve said walking to stand slightly behind Natasha, knowing it gave her a sense of peace to be in front because of a tactic she learned along time ago. Gave her the power.

"You don't understand! Understand what it's like to be constantly told where to go when to do it, and maybe I just wanted a break from all that. For the first time in a long time I have felt free," James tried explaining but he knew it was to no avail.

"You think I don't understand?" Natasha asked, almost laughed. "I know what it feels like and I can god well tell you this, you are not being controlled in the slightest bit."

"You are overreacting!" He yelled for the second time that day.

"Go to your room," she said. "You are grounded. and for now on I will be driving you to and from school, and you will not be hanging out with anyone unless it's for training for the next two weeks."

"Two weeks? What the heck? For staying out?"

"No, because you completely lied to me, disrespected out rules, and for knowing that you have powers that aren't completely contained and can hurt someone at any moment but still going out. It was irresponsible James." James didn't argue, he knew better, and he knew he was in the wrong here. He knew his mother trusted him yet he completely ignored that and went against her.

"I am sorry mom, I was with Torunn. She wanted me to show her around." He admitted. James couldn't hide it, he was a momma's boy. He couldn't stay mad and lie to his mom before the truth found a way of letting it's self out.

"You were with a girl? Someone, you barely know?" She asked. She had to take a deep breath before speaking with. "James, you want me to trust you? You need to be honest with me you can't go around where ever you want to go without telling me." she looked him in the eyes. "With your new powers you have to be honest with me, we have to be on the same page here. Please."

"I promise mom, I'll let you know next time. I was just a tad bit overwhelmed you know?"

"I know baby but I can't sit here wondering where you are all hours of the night." James nodded his head. "Come here," She immediately wrapped her arms around James. "I love you."

"every day and more," He said.

"Okay, Champ, why don't you go take a shower, it's late and you have training tomorrow,'" Steve said pulling the pair away from each other, James nodded his head and walked away. Natasha looked up at Steve with a smirk. "What?"

"You're doing it again."

"Doing what?"

"Getting jealous over James. He's your son Steve, you can't be so jealous." She said wrapping her hands around his neck again.

"Well, when he gets such special treatment then it's hard not too." He laughed. "Want some ice cream?"

"I want another dessert."

"What kind of dessert do you want?"

"I am in" the desert."

"Mrs. Rogers how you kill me."

"Okay, you pathetic losers! it's time to train! You will all be a completely different person by the end of this! You will all be sleeping in sweat. You will be begging for your legs to be taken apart from your body!"

"Tony, what the hell are you doing?" Natasha interrupted his speech when she walked into the gym.

"I'm prepping them." He said. "Making sure they are ready for this."

"By calling them pathetic losers?" Steve asked.

"Cap these kids need a backbone. They will learn to fear me."

"Fear you?" James asked. "Oh, I thought you were reciting lines from a play," James admitted.

"Yeah me too, I could understand why you never got the role," Nicole said causing everyone to laugh.

"Listen to me little Wilson, I am not gonna say anything because your mother scares the hell out of me, but if she didn't I'd surely tell you that was impolite in a much worse way."

"Okay enough with that," Steve raid rolling his eyes. " okay guys time to warm up, stretch your legs and then take a lap."

"Running?" Willa asked. "I don't know if you know this, but I can fly now."

"Oh yeah?" Natasha asked. "What's gonna happen when you can't control your powers? Or if you're distracted. How are you gonna get away from a bad event? Think of these people around you like your team. Are you just gonna fly away from them? Your mother runs with us. You will run with your team."

"Why are you referring to us as a team?" Nate asked. "It's not like you guys are gonna let us go on any mission." The kids were all stretching out their legs.

"going on a mission is highly dangerous." Bucky started. "None of you can go on a mission for the simple reason that you aren't a team. Referring to you as a team helps you bond. No matter if you go on a mission."

"You were all given these gifts and how you use them is very important. You need to understand how to use, sometimes being together is the only way of figuring all of this out." Steve said. "Now take a lap before I make it two." They all started running.

"They are slow," Maria said.

"James seems to have inherited his parent's speed," Sam said rolling his eyes. "I think our girl is right on his tail." It was true, Nicole was rather fast, almost keeping up with James. Next was Nate, then Miles, Morgan, and Willa.

"Willa is annoyed," Natasha said. "That's gonna drag her down."

"Wanda started teaching her about her powers," Bucky said. "I think it's got to her head that that's all she needs."

"We will learn on more physical aspects of their training," Wanda said, "Make sure she understands that she can't rely on them." Everyone nodded their head.

"No need my Morgan will be the team leader, just like me, and will help shape all your kids," Tony smirked, Pepper rolled her eyes, she was there because she wanted to see what training would be like for her daughter.

"Who said you are the team leader?" Natasha asked. "Steve's the team leader."

"What?! In what since when?!"

"You have literally said Steve is the team leader and you just pay for things and make everyone look 'cool'" Maria said rolling her eyes.

"Hey, Stark looks like Morgan seems to be falling behind as well." Sam laughed. Morgan was falling a bit behind, evening out with Willa now.

"No matter," Tony said. "She doesn't need to know how to run fast to be the team leader. She's got the biggest brain."

"Miles is neck in neck," Scott said. "I think he gets it all from me."

"If that was true tic tac then he wouldn't be that smart," Sam smirked.

"I take offense to that!" Scott frowned.

"Guys focus up please," Natasha said. "We all know we aren't sending them on a mission. We are training them so they don't hurt themselves or anyone else."

"But if they have these powers shouldn't they use it?" Laura asked.

"No, we all know the price of this life, it's not something the kids should have to pay," Natasha was very vocal on James not going in the 'family business.' But Steve has already spoken to her about letting James decide for themselves.

"I guess we will see this in the very very far future," Wanda said. "We let them decide, but while they live under our roof, no missions for them." Everyone could agree on that.

"Okay, well I will let you all get to training," Pepper said, "Don't break them to the last bone, " She kissed Tony's cheek, and Laura kissed Clint before leaving as well. Just as they left The group started coming in.

"What took you all so long? Another one and make it quick!" Natasha announced causing the kids to all groan before running off once again. Natasha smirked over at Steve who was looking at her raising an eyebrow. "What?" She asked innocently. "Don't ruin my fun, Steve."

"Never." He smiled. He looked over at the kids and smiled, training had just begun.
