"Why the hell are we meeting in a freaking treehouse?" James asked when he arrived at the Barton house. No one really knew why they were there except Morgan and apparently Nate who had a smirk lacing his face as everyone filled the room.

"you know Rogers you should have a better attitude about this, we could have left you out," Nate said.

"Out of what exactly?" Nicole asked. "Because I have a bag of popcorn and Netflix calling my name."

"Your Netflix is going to have to wait," Morgan said. "I don't know about all of you, but I personally am done with our parents treating us like children. We are not babies and it's time they stop treating us as such."

"Does that mean we have to start making our own dinners?" Willa asked. "Because that's a lot of work and I personally love my mom's cooking I'd rather not give that up."

"What? No that's not what I meant. I mean with our powers!" James watched Morgan speak, unsure where this was going. "They gave us these necklaces so they could hide away from the world, so we can blend in and personally I am done hiding."

"We can do a lot of good with our powers and our parents are letting us use them to our full potential, in fact they aren't letting us use them at ALL," Nate said. "I am done"

"What exactly are you two planning?" Miles asked. "because the last time you two planned something together I was bald for a month."

"We are creating our own team, where we will train together and learn to really become a team." She responded. "We will work together to build our powers into what they are supposed to be." She spoke as if it was the most simple thing in the world.

"And who exactly is going to teach us?" James asked. "You? Nate? You two know about the same as we do and that is very little."

"We have a plan for that," Morgan said, her voice was still cold and forced towards James. "I have been talking to Serenity, and she says that she trains with her father, so she knows the ropes and can help us control our powers."

"Wait Serenity has powers?" Willa asked. "Since when?"

"Willa she's literally the daughter of a supreme sorcerer, of course, she has powers. She's probably had them her entire life."  Miles said rolling his eyes, "It's kind of common knowledge."

"To you maybe, not all of us have a crush on Serenity Strange," Nicole spoke back.

"I do NOT have a crush on Serenity. That's just...just plain nonsense." He nervously laughed.

"She's two years old then you by the way," Willa pointed out.

"No, she isn't! She's a year and two months, so like practically nothing." Miles responded with a shrug. "that is of course if I did like her, which I don't!"

"Yeah sure, you don't like her, just as much as James doesn't like Torunn." Nicole rolled her eyes.

"Hey! Why are you roping me into this?" James asked. "and for the record, I do not like Torunn."

"Please you both are just in denial. You know I bet you'd feel a lot better once you admit your true feelings."

"No way! Because there are no feelings." James said.

"Can you all stop it!" Morgan yelled out. "See this is what I mean, we can't be a team if we are always fighting and we can't control our powers."

"We can control our powers," James said. "With these," He held up the necklace for her to see properly.

"Don't you guys want to actually do something with your powers?" Nate asked. "Personally I'd love to see how high I can jump and just about how flexible I am now." Nate abilities were more about him being more on target and he had a very high jump, he could jump probably as high as a bird could fly. James, of course, had whatever skills his parents had, Morgan practically had a super-brain, Miles could shrink, Willa could fly and had her mother's powers, and Nicole had practically what Nate had, increased speed and precise aim.  It also was like time went slower when things where being thrown at her, her parents assumed that was the effect of her speed. Their abilities mostly corresponded with their parents.

"So say we join, how is this going to help us as a team?" Willa asked.

"We continue doing whatever lame team-building excesses our parents make us do, while we train on the down-low." Nate shrugged. "Besides how can we accept each other when we can't even accept ourselves?"

"wow that was so poetic," Miles said. "Come on everyone let's give him a round of applause because it's the last one he will ever get before he is murdered by his parents."

"They aren't going to find out." He responded.

"Really? Because that was the last thing James said to me before he was caught by his mother."

"James only got caught because his mother is so protective of him even looking at a girl."

"Hey!" James said.

"What about us?" Morgan asked. "Why doesn't she get upset about us?"

"Because you are you" Nate replied. "She had nothing to worry about you. Why do you even care are you jealous?" James looked over at Morgan when Nate said that. "Do you want James's mom to forbid you two from seeing each other so you can the Romeo and Juliet story?"

"That was a horrible movie," Willa mumbled as Morgan rolled her eyes.

"your just upset because no one will have that with you," She hissed back.

"I am more likely to have it over you darling," Nate said. "I am a catch," At that Miles let out a laugh. "What was that pipsqueak?"

"What me? Oh, that was nothing," He said before thinking for a second, "It was just you said you were a catch and I thought it was funny."

"Why is that so funny?"

"Because you are you Francis, you are as committed to a person as a fly is committed to life," Nicole said. "You'd rather run away before being in something that requires commitment. You wouldn't know commitment if it hit you over the head."

"What like you?" He asked. "How many committed relationships have you been exactly? oh, wait NONE!" The group started arguing and bring each other into even more fights.  As the argued a laugh filled the room.

"You are all very pathetic." They all turned and saw Sarah standing at the door with a smirk on her face.

"Sarah?" James questioned. "What are you doing here?"

"What do you mean? James, I walked with you here! You are watching me this afternoon remember?"

"I am?" James asked. "Since when?"

"Mom and Dad went out for dinner... James, they have been reminding you all week, they even told you before they left!"

"OOOH was that what they were going on about? I just thought they were yelling at me again, I kinda zoned out when they were talking to me." James admitted. "Maybe I should actually listen next time." He shrugged.

"Sarah you can't tell anyone about what you heard in here," Morgan said.

"What exactly did I hear?" She questioned, she had an innocent look on her face.

"She's playing us," Nate commented.

"Really?" Willa asked. "We would have never had known, thank you so much for that,"

"What a real team you all have here," She said and then mumbled under her breath, "I am scared for the earth if it's in their hands."

"What do you want Sarah?" James asked.

"Why do you assume I want something?" She asked. "From your people who are just talking about being a team. It's obvious nothing is going to happen."

"Guys let me take care of this," Nate said. "She's obviously taunting us."

"I don't need to taunt you. I am just telling you the straight facts and the fact that you can't see the truth that's right in front of you is proof enough."

"I get it." Nate leaned forward. "You want money. We can give you money, Miles get our your wallet!"

"Wait what?" Miles asked.

"Nate I pray for your future."

She said patting his shoulder. "I will not tell your parents."

"You won't?" Willa asked. "Am I the only one who thinks she's lying?"

"I am telling the truth." She said. "I will not say on one condition, " She smirked. "I get to help with the team, assuming there is one."

"No way," James said. "As your older brother, I can not let you do that." James shook his head.

"Okay well I am just going to go call mom, I am sure she's gonna love to know where we are right now." She started to turn away from the group to walk out.

"Wait!" Morgan yelled and everyone gave her a look but Morgan was not about to let this chance fall to pieces. She wanted to make her dad proud, she knew this was the way to do it. "How about you be in charge of the outfits, and managing the computer." Sarah looked at her closely as if reading her mind, before breaking out into a smile.

"See now was that so hard?" She asked. "Great doing business with you all, now I will get go outside to read my book. James, you have five minutes before I start going home," With that she walked out of the room, everyone looking at Morgan like she was crazy.

"Look I know you are all angry, but I am doing this, now who's with me?" Everyone looked at each other, besides Nate who was already 100% on board.

"I guess so, I have nothing better to do," Willa said.

"Me too, it will be fun I guess."

"Better than not doing anything with these powers," Miles responded, now they all looked over at James who was the only one who didn't respond.

"Please James," Morgan said, looking at him with pleading eyes. James sighed looking down.

"Fine I am in, but if we get caught... make sure there is cake at my funeral." Everyone was smiling. They might not know what was going to happen, or even what they were doing exactly but they knew one thing for sure, they weren't going to give up.

"This is the start of a new era."
