I was Standing in a forest...it looked familiar but I could quite wrap my head around it A scream sounded alerting me...the scream belonged to a child I had to help! I pushed everything that just happened down and run towards the scream I ran through the woods not noticing the constantly dimming light till it became near pitch black and I froze looking around there was literally nothing around me no moon no trees and no child.
"Hello?" I call out just above a whisper.
"I'm here to help you just call out and I'll come" my voice echoed the only problem is...it wasn't from me suddenly I was in the middle of a clearing staring at myself on the other side "hello?" I or she called I just stood confused then she looked directly at me, er at my stomach "are you alright" she called I just stood shocked as she ran over somehow ending up taller than me by at least a foot "don't worry little one the men who did this are gone for now so just come with me and you'll be alright" she looked at me with a blank face that somehow radiated safety making me trust myself easily then suddenly it clicked I was on the receiving end of my care to the children my uncles forgot to go after to finish the job my view shifted and now I was back in my own body pain searing through me at the beating I just took for letting a child get away from the caravan of slaves I was meant to take out for business reasons and I stared down at a little girl who had a bad slice across her stomach caused by my uncle she was bleeding out too fast and collapsed into my lap tears running down her face pure terror edged into her eyes "no no there's no need to cry" I look at her and smiled a tiny smile of reassurance "things didn't end up going your way,
but you don't need to worry they say,
if you smile you will go to a place,
Where you'll be happy till the end of your days~"
I sang softly as she looked into my eyes and smiled before her face went pale and her eyes went dull she had died in my hands and there was nothing I could do, this was my 9th Birthday and the start of my controlled life as a hired murder and holder of abilities I never asked for,.
Suddenly my vision went black and I was surrounded by darkness again but my 14-year-old body shone bright as day and I was beginning to get frustrated "please someone tell me what's happening...have I simply gone to hell?" a small sigh sounded all around me and I looked up quickly searching the room I sit in my knees hoping for an explanation "please I'm begging you tell me who's there?" I cried loud enough for the world to hear "I can't stand being alone" I whisper again.
"you shouldn't beg like that, it doesn't look good on you" a voice sounded right behind me, I turned quickly to be met with a person and in the heat of the moment and due to my fear I automatically hug them they tensed for a moment but then hugged back rubbing a small circle on my back as if to comfort me I pulled back and finally got a look at the person it was a male he had bright red hair and deep blue eyes he gave off a goodly glow of sorts that I couldn't explain he stepped back and I studied the rest of him, he was taller than me and extremely well built so in other words 'damn he's sexy'. I looked back at his face as his posture changed he crossed his arms and looked away a blush tinting his face.
"it's kinda hard to talk to someone who won't even look at your face" he pouted cutely and I instinctively saluted.
"Right sorry" I mumbled still grateful for someone else to be here "Sorry but-"
"why are you sorry?" I was shocked by the question at first but recovered.
"what?"
"you have always said sorry before you asked a question if you even do...why?" I stood for a minute thinking of an answer.
"I guess it's because my curiosity is a burden and my questions only waste time" I frown now avoiding eye contact if I said something he didn't like would he hit me like my uncles.
"I would never hurt you" again I looked up in shock "my name is Gravis and I am your guardian angel...now...and I'm here to tell you that you have a second chance and it will only work if you fully accept" he introduced himself and I just sat taking in everything he was saying "our higher power only allows this once every decade and because he frowned upon the way you were brought up and what you were molded into as well as what your fate would have held if you had not been taken by those men-" I stopped him right there.
"what do you mean had I not been taken in by those men?" he tensed slightly and sighed.
"every time before a person is born they roll a dice of sorts, that dice decides there whole fate in life aka whether or not they succeed in things like looks or intelligence, when you rolled the dice you were unlucky and rolled...a 2 now against all odds you grew beautiful but to even it out us angels had to give you a horrible fate, a torturous existence that you would forever regret" I thought back to how I died and regretted ever even trusting the boy in the first place. A small pain grew inside me forming into a sort of hatred towards the boy who took my life.
"don't you even start to think like that" I looked quickly up to Gravis's face confused.
"if you had not been taken by those men, at the age of 10 you would have run away from your family due to the pain they put you through, by the age of 15 you would have become the most notorious thief to have ever existed due to your magic you oh so refused to use" I was a bit taken aback by that comment "on your 17th Birthday while in a new town you would have met Sirius a baker's assistant and he would have showed you kindness and let you go even after trying to steal from him you would instead of leaving the city come back every day and bye a piece of bread from the bakery, over time you would get close and eventually you would get a job at the bakery as well, you two would settle down in a small cottage a little ways away from the village and have twins one male and one female, each year on their birthdays you would let them pick out the outfit you wore that day, an adorable little tradition if I might add, and you would go out to buy sweets for them Sirius would die 3 years before yourself at the age of 47 and that would have been the end" I stared at him.
"I was to marry the boy that killed me?" Gravis nodded and a screen of sorts appeared showing the boy I identified as Sirius sitting on what I assumed to be his bed his head in his hands and a small revolver next to him. A sudden feeling of worry appeared "he isn't going to hurt himself is he?" Gravis's expression darkened and I looked back to see the boy point the revolver to his temple before pulling the trigger I gasped and touched the screen as if I could jump through and help him. No matter how much I may dislike his choices no one should feel this kind of pain over me.
"his final thoughts were of you that day you met, he thought of how beautiful you were and how if you were to survive the test he was going to try to win over your heart for sure" a foreign tear rolled down my cheek "it's been quite a while since you've cried, maybe it's because deep down you knew how much he meant, how he made you feel happy when no one else did, how you never wanted to sing your cursed song whilst standing before him, you loved him as well, didn't you?" I just stared at the screen more tears running down my face.
"if I accept to be reborn this way...will he be there?" I asked looking at Gravis, he stayed silent for a second before responding.
"he is to be reborn as well though without his memory's so yes he will be there, he will just be born a different day...and due to your spells work he will be the same year as you though, and also a witch or wizard in this case, the world you will enter will be like nothing you've ever seen before it will be the same but you will be born in the middle of a war to balance out the gift, there will be sadness but we promise to give you the best existence you can have in that time the other difference being you will be born with different features such as eye and hair color" Gravis finished and I nodded accepting his answer unconsciously running my hand through my silver hair.
"and what if I refuse?" Gravis hesitated to answer.
"you will become like me, you won't be an angel but you will be close enough to one you can make choices for the living and help balance the world." I caught on to a sad undertone in his speech.
"you regret your decisions don't you?" he nodded.
"every day I wish I could go back and accept living again but my choices landed me here today and I came to convince you to accept, I no longer exist in reality, it's a sad non-existence, the pure angels look down on you but the humans can't even see you my one wish would to be able to come exist with humans once again in any form as long as they saw me." his frown deepened and I nodded.
"I see that is a very lonely wish" he nodded scratching the back of his head again "Y-ya I know, sorry for going all sad on ya like that...oh crap! I forget to tell you, you are also granted a single wish upon accepting." his face reddened at his conveniently forgotten info and I already knew what I was gonna do though I'm still gonna be a little mean about it.
"what's your favorite animal?" he looked at me confused by the sudden question.
"uh well, I guess a cat" I smiled.
"Alright well then I accept this fate" he smiled relieved.
"that's good to hear now what's your wish?" a smirk appeared on my face.
