Chapter 4: A Beast has Awakened

"Oy Iku, ya want to run to the plaza today with me and the drama club, or will you decline like always?"-Yorimu

"Yeah, I don't like going out. I'll just head back to the dorm."-Ikaku

I started walking towards the dorms, but I forgot that I had make-up chemistry work to do today.

"Actually, I forgot that I had to do my chemistry make-up work after club today, so I'll head back to school."-Ikaku

"Ok then, catch ya later."-Yorimu

Yorimu waves goodbye as he walks off with the drama club group."

I start walking back into Miltondew. As I walk to my chemistry room, B 1-3, I accidentally bump into someone without paying attention.

"Oh, sorry I didn't pay attention...

Jeuno?!?!"-Ikaku

"Oh hey, didn't expect to run into you in these halls."-Jeuno

"What are you doing here?!?!

Weren't you on vacation with Yuku, Kikai, and Sam?!"-Ikaku

"Yeah, but I had a headache and came back earlier than the others.

What are you doing here late at school?"-Jeuno

"Oh, I just needed to finish my chemistry work, you know, with Mrs. Shrew..."-Ikaku

"Uh-huh, yeah.

I need to go over to my tech engineering to finish my make-up work with Mr. Otashi."-Jeuno

"Ok then, see ya later back at the dorm."-Ikaku

"K, see you then."-Jeuno

I walk into the lecture room and pull out my papers to start finishing my make-up work.

Time flies by doing work.

"Here you go Mrs. Shrew. This is all of the sheets done."-Ikaku

I hand my chemistry teacher my work.

"Excellent job Ikaku! Thank you so much! You have a good night now."-Mrs. Shrew

I walk outside and check the time.

"Oh gosh, it's already 10:45 p.m.. Gotta head back to the dorm now."

As I am heading back to the dorm, I notice a girl near some lavenders by the school park. She's sitting peacefully looking at the gaze of the park. That girl blew my mind of what beauty really is.

(She's so beautiful.

That black straight hair,

white skirt dress,

rainbow hair clip on the side of her hair,

yellow heels, and pale tender skin.

It makes me feel so...

Then something went through my mind. This is no ordinary ambition. No, it's not me who has this ambition.

I felt the chill of the breeze as it is the evening. Then something changed.

It felt warmer than usual.

Hearing my heartbeat pounds as I look at that girl again.

I have one look at my hands.

My back fixated into a hunch instead of straight.

With a heavy breath, I run with two hands and legs on the ground.

I then pounce on the girl and roll forward with her in my two arms.

However, her expression was peculiar. She had her eyes off into the distance and had no scared emotions.

Just a blank stare.

"Huh, who are you? Get away from me!"-Ikaku

*Flashback*

"Hey Ikaku." My mother sweetly says as she is lying on a hospital bed.

I was the only one visiting since Dolte turned 6. Grandpa stopped seeing our mom and decided to take care of Dolte instead because no one else looked after him.

"Yes mom?"-Ikaku

"I want you to have this before I go."-Ikaku's Mother

My mother leans over to the drawer next to the bed and pulled out a red box with yellow flower patterns on it.

She opens up the box and pulls out a silver pendant.

It illuminated the room as the sun's beam hit the pendant through the window.

She then leans over to me and puts the pendant on my neck.

"I want you to keep that pendant. It'll protect you and your brother wherever you two go.

You understand right, my dear Iku?"-Ikaku's Mother

"Yes..."-Ikaku

That was the last time I saw her.

Her heartbeat dropped to zero,

and there were no signs of return.

I saw a vase with lavenders on top of the drawer.

It bloomed,

and I knew...

that my mother is somewhere...

that can make her smile every day.
