You're the newest member of the McLaren team, staying under the engineering team wings. You got quickly comfortable with just everybody even joking around with your team principal, and all the members of the team. After swapping places with an engineer in the UK, you gained the opportunity to travel with the team and have the best job in the world as part of Carlos' side of garage with who you got along well, but that wasn't the only one. The other driver, Lando oh dear.

Since the day your eyes crossed you couldn't help but melt into those comforting eyes, with the cutest and warmest smile you'd ever seen. You had a crush on him or should we say: You always had feelings for him and that everyone knew, and it didn't take long until you started being playful with the young Brit.

Something you didn't know was that Lando was head over heels ever since he saw you entering the meetings room for the first time. He still remembered how your eyes meet and you sent him a timid smile shyly. You were simply the most beautiful girl he had laid his eyes on, and he did not plan to lose you, nor did he plan to talk to you either :D

A few months later, the entire team had to run some updates on the sim, so you were on duty with both sides of the garage and a few other engineers. You had been your playful self that day and some people just noticed how Lando fought the urge to stare at you, specially when you got up to grab yourself come coffee just outside the room, leaving Lando and his engineer by themselves.

"So, you like her like her?" He asked at Lando who's eyes went wide

"W-whaa? No I don't what are you talking about? No, we're just friends." Lando scoffs hiding himself from his engineer face.

He sighs "You know, you should just tell her. You have to."

"Riiiight sure, because YN definitely likes me back and this isn't going to ruin the beautiful friendship we built at all, right? Oh and we can totally date other people in our team."

"We both know why this rule exists for starters."

Lando rolled his eyes "Your point?"

"It's a terrific idea!"

"It's a terrible idea!"

His engineer glanced at you walking in and sent you a mysterious wink while Lando was trying hard to cover his face so you wouldn't see his cheeks

"Okay." His engineer sent him a yellow smile getting up "Then let's go back to work. YN? Should we get the time sheets from P3?"

You looked up confused "Yes but you're the only one who's authorized to pick them up."

"Then you come with me." He smiles widely glancing at Lando

You giggled confused still following him behind to the main engineering room .

"So, are you having fun?" He asks nonchalantly walking side by side with you

"Well yes, although reading numbers gets boring sometimes."

He hummed in reply "I might have an idea to spice your day then." Your eyebrows raised and you stopped midway and he laughed at your face "Not like that you silly girl" he shook his head "How good are you with pick-up lines?"

"To whom they shall be?"

"It's Lando a good candidate?"

A wide smile quickly spread on your lips as you looked ahead. It was game on!

"Hey Landowner!" You walk in placing some time sheets above the table

He jumps a bit at your proximity "hmm hi, hello, hey."

Carlos looks up from his computer with a small smirk and a head shake. Both engineers glance at you as well quite aware of Lando feelings for you.

"You're done with those?"

He looks at the time sheets and nods "Nearly. " he clears is throat

"That's wicked!" You nod "Hey what's that?" You ask looking at his face and then his arms

"What is it? It is dirty?"

"Do you have a sunburn? Or you're always this hot?"

His face grew hot and everyone's jaw fell when you dropped that pick-up line. You smiled at everyone and sent Lando a wink

"I-no but thanks?"

You proudly walked out of the room and went back to another engineering room just going back to work. There would certainly come another opportunities on that day.

And it indeed came half an hour later when Lando came into the engineering room where you had been done with your task. Apparently he hadn't spotted you since the room was enormous and there were plenty other men and women walking around

"Landito, my dear, are you lost?" He looked up and saw you finally shyly smiling and shaking his head no "because heaven is a loooong way from here darling."

The room went silence and everyone looked between you and Lando who froze by the door with a soft blush on his cheeks while you walked out of the room victoriously smirking as if nothing had happened

You had to make a few calls to your boss before going back to the sim. You weren't sure which one of the drivers would be this time, but you'd found out the moment you got into the room. After the 10min call you were back into the building smiling at everyone who walked by, when you saw Lando standing near the vending machine scratching the back of his head. You laughed and smiled when his eyes meet yours and he did the same. You looked down at his shoes and frowned for a brief second that didn't go unnoticed by him "oh orLando my dear"

"What?"

"Here" you kneel "let me tie your shoes cause I don't want you falling for anyone else."

"Well but i-" realization dawned on him and the blush on his cheeks had gotten so dark you thought he was about to explode

"You know," you got up and looked around "I didn't knew angels flew so low." You bite your lip and walked away leaving Lando in quite shock.

"Boy you have to step up your game. What are you doing?" She shook her head amused

"What?" Lando looks up and spots one of the members of his engineering team "What now?"

"Throw one pick-up line at her."

"What? No I can't do that. I'm not even good at it."

"And if I help you?" She wiggles her eyebrows

"Any good ideas?" He curiously asked

"Yes. What if you say-" she thoughtfully processed "Can I punch you in the face with my lips?"

Lando thought it was silly and knowing you, it would probably result in loud heartfelt laughs and jokes about it. He loved when you laugh so it seemed like a perfect idea.

He anxiously waited until everyone was back in the sim. Carlos, thankfully would the the one driving and Lando would just be watching and giving his input on whatever they needed. He knew you'd be there so his clueless romantic derrière find some courage to finally pull the door and enter the room.

"Hey YN" he called the moment he saw you distracted reading something on your phone

"Hey Landner" you looked up from your phone

"hmm, can I-" he cleared his throat "Can I punch you in the face-" he mumbles 'calm down' to himself a few times "Can I punch you in the face —" he paused and looked up "with uhm my lips?"

As if by magic, the room just goes straight silent. Lando didn't knew but your team principal had arrived not long ago and he was in the room. It was a mix of pure shock,silent laughter, wide eyes and somehow the mannequin challenge. Your co-worker who had suggested Lando that pick-up line literally froze . She was not expecting him to do that. It's Lando after all

"Yes, sure." You got up from your chair

Lando stares shockingly at you and then at everyone else. This felt like asking for someone something you know the person won't give you, and then the person actually is willing to give you. He never thought it would get this far, that meant you had feelings for him? Or was it "L-listen I- wait a damn minute I-mean I -"

You rolled your eyes and shut him up by placing your lips on his. There was no reluctance on him, and the shock that got him first had completely melted when he kissed you back

Your colleagues vague shouts had made you laugh during the kiss, while Lando pulled your hips closer clearly indicating that he did not intended on stopping.

A cough from your boss brought the reality back to you specially when you looked back at him

"I need you both breathing and alive for the next race." He wiggles his eyebrows with a playful smile

"And we have a HR trip to make in the next 30 seconds." Lando added glancing at your lips while you smiled now embarrassed that your co-workers and your boss had to watch you kissing Lando. But it was all worth it. You just wished you had pulled the pick-up lines idea sooner. If it meant feeling this happy and free then you'd do it a thousand times more.
