The dinosaur was right behind us, growling as he lifted his head. It was nothing like I've ever seen. We turned behind, all looking at the hybrid before the mouth opened widely, roaring at us. Everything seemed to go slower. The moment was full of silent horror and fright.
"GO, GO, GO!" Gray screamed, trying to push Zach's hand back down on the console before we were kicked like a soccer ball in the air, all of us screaming in complete fear. We rolled down the hill, faster than ever, with the glass spinning around us, dizzying myself.
Even with the fact that we were in a glass ball, we all flinched as something came close, covering our face with our arms as if that will do any help. It could, actually, if the glass breaks. JESSIE, IT ISN'T THE TIME TO CORRECT YOURSELF. Or talk to yourself either. Okay, I'm going insane. What a great way to die! We bounced off each dinosaur, and now Gray and I were the only ones screaming, as Zach was paralysed against his seat.
"Hold it together, man!" Zach screamed, as Gray held his arm. His other hand was holding the top of the sphere while his other was on the armrest with Gray's until he used both his arms to hold onto his little brother, who was screaming with all his might. I was in the fetal position, hiding my head on my legs until the spinning stopped and a roar silenced us. I looked up.
The Ankysaurus was going to fight back.
I can't watch.
Suddenly, Zach got control of the console and made a solid right - disrupting the showing of a hybrid dinosaur eating an Ankysaurus. I mean, it's of course the hybrid Ms. Dearing mentioned - it wasn't like any other dinosaur here. We shrieked as we made little progress in that direction.
"THAT WAY!"
"GO GO GO!" We all screamed at Zach until I heard a crashing noise, making me let out a squeal, Zach to cover his face by holding his shoulder and putting his head in between his shoulder and Gray to use Zach's hand to shield his eyes. We bounced back, hitting the Ankysaurus's tail.
Now, we were upside down. I heard the noise of an engine, yet we were not moving. Zach turned his head during the fight, looking at me with a certain light in his eye as the Ankysaurus made a death curling noise, signaling that it has been hurt. Zach continued to try, locking eyes with Gray and I as soon as it was confirmed.
We were going to die.
Hey, that'd be a cool thing to say in whatever place I'll end up in. Talk to someone who died in 2001 and tell them I was eaten by a dinosaur in 2015. They'll be shocked.
Okay, back to panic mode.
"NOO!" I screamed, hiding my face in my lap as the hybrid took a bite of the Ankysaurus's head. I heard a whimper from Gray, who I knew was much more traumatised. I looked up, acknowledging the death with tears in my eyes before taking Gray's hand. Zach took a deep breath in.
"We're safe in here, right?" Gray whimpered, finally looking at Zach and I. I noticed Zach was holding onto the top railing, his hair falling down making it look like a quaff while Gray's looked like an afro.
"Yeah, we're totally safe." He breathed out. He was lying. I knew it and it was quite obvious. I took my hand out from Gray's and squeezed Zach's hand before returning it back to my armrest.
A buzzing vibration got all of our attention, as we stared down at the bottom of the bubble to see Zach's phone ringing, with Ms. Dearing's photo on it. Zach tried stretching his arms out to reach it, but it was too far. I saw my phone, beside his, which also started to vibrate and buzz, with my Uncle Owen's photo on it. We both tried desperately reaching for it, small groans coming from our mouths as we stretched our arms to the limit.
"Heh, Zach, Jessie." Gray's voice was full of fear as he called our attention. I looked up, and what I saw terrified me. The hybrid's orange eye staring through the glass; it was glaring at the three of us.
"Almost got it." Zach stated, as I gave up, yet he still tried.
"Zach." I screamed out, almost angrily. "Look. Out." I said, pausing between each. He looked up at the growling creature and fear ran through the whole sphere. One last breath was taken from him, as he held it. He opened his mouth before we heard multiple stomps. Zach was holding what used to be the top, with Gray holding onto him.
The dinosaur perched itself on top of us, acting as if we were a ball of string and it was a kitten. It's nail pierced the glass, almost touching my nose. The dinosaur used the nail to bring us upright, or it felt like it was. Everything seemed to be going slower.
We were now facing the dinosaur. Suddenly, it opened his mouth and Zach started shrieking, with Gray and I following as the breath of the dinosaur fogged up the glass, while he was trying to bite the sphere.
Everyone, every memory and everything I knew ran through my head.
Spencer, will he live through this? My uncle, who is my hero, will he try to save us? Will he survive? My mom, will she be okay? My breath was shaking, and I felt myself let out a few tears.
Most of all, the thoughts on my mind was to not let Zach and Gray die. They can't. I would have to have me get killed first before I accept their death. Biting the sphere didn't seem to open it, just crack it more. The noise of the shattering glass was causing me to flinch as we yelped for our lives.
Suddenly, we were in the dinosaur's mouth and lifted in the air before slammed again on the ground. We were latched into his or her's mouth. The glass behind me shattered completely as it met the ground, making me scream louder. I knew what I had to do.
I reached in front of me, and unbuckled their seatbelts, and did the same with mine and when the dinosaur lifted the ball again to smash it, we fell out, with myself on the bottom of the doggie pile. The sphere shattered on top of us, with Zach covering my body with his.
"GO, GO!" He screamed, getting Gray's waist and mine before pushing us up and following us. We sprinted for our lives, acknowledging a dinosaur wanting to eat us, letting out roars of hunger.
We went back through the open gate and into the valley, me following Gray, before slowing down – a sharp pain in my leg.
"Come on!" Zach held my hand, squeezing it tightly and pulled me forwards, sharp pain shooting through me. Zach was now ahead, dragging me along. I tried to take Gray's hand but I missed it.
We were now by the edge, which we stopped too. The waterfall was right beside us, and Zach almost fell immediately, if it wasn't for me jerking him backwards. We were facing the water beneath us, a waterfall leading to it. Loud water noises, crashing onto another body of water. The vapor was hitting our face.
We all turned around to face the dinosaur, that just came out of the restricted area.
"We're going to have to jump!" Zach screamed, holding both our shoulders.
"I can't."
"Come on, bud." I started, wrapping my arm around his shoulder, panicking. "We have to."
"Are you ready?" Zach screamed, counting as he held onto us. "One, two..." He pulled us with him before he said three, the dinosaur missing us by seconds.
"AHHHHHH!" I heard Gray scream from under me. The first to splash was Zach, then me and then Gray – due to our weights, however we landed at the estimated same time. I looked up, spotting the dinosaur through a distorted lense. I spotted Gray and Zach try to swim up, however I held their ankles and pulled them down where I was, shaking my head and pointing towards the distorted dinosaur.
Zach silenced Gray, who was trying to get air, and eventually pulled both Gray and I into a hug.
Once we all heard a defeated roar, I pushed Gray up to get some air faster than us. Zach pulled me up with him, all of us breathing heavily as soon as we got air. We heard the final roar before he disappeared from our sight and our ears. Gray flipped his hair, looking kind of silly from the wet blob while Zach's hair framed his face. We swam towards the shore with deep breaths being the only sound. I used to swim a lot, so I swam the fastest, trying to get back on the ground so I can examine the excruciating pain I was trying my hardest to ignore.
On the mud, Gray got back his breath while Zach did the same, copying him and pulling him out more of the water. We were all drenched.
"We jumped." Zach sounded relieved, before both Gray and Zach started chuckling. I already stood up from the mud and walked over to the side, placing my butt onto a rock to find out where the excruciating pain was. I saw a huge cut in my upper knee.
"Jessie..." Gray's eyes went wide, spotting me.
"I'm fine." I croaked out. "Bud, do you have anything like a band aid or tissue?" Gray looked through his fanny pack, while Zach sat himself next to me and wrapped his arm around me, both of us taking deep breaths.
"You okay?" Zach investigated, contacting his eyes with mine. I took a shallow breath, before resting my head on his shoulder. I lied, nodding slowly. Zach rested his head on my head, his arm holding me close. I got up, limping over to the lake, running the liquid over my knee, and permitting the blood wash away to reveal a medium sized cut.
"That's a big cut." Zach observed as he sat down in front of me, placing the Band-Aid Gray gave him on the cut. "There." He sighed, before inspecting me and smiling. "All better." He sighed, smiling.
We both looked up, causing our faces were inches apart, breath's hitting each other while Gray examined the area. I spotting him start to lean in, lips nearing mine.
"That way." Gray pointed towards a pathway, causing Zach and I to hastily pull away. He has a girlfriend. I sighed.
"Let's go." Zach mumbled, almost disappointedly.
