Zach's Perspective
"Okay, just hold hands." Aunt Claire stated, before closing the door to the van. Seconds later, and Gray is holding out his hand for me to take, tapping my arm to get my attention. I leant into him instead, wrapping my arm around his shoulder.
"Nothing's getting in here, right?" My brothers voice was shaking, full of terror. I know I can't let him down, even if I was terrified as well.
"Hey," I called for his attention, finally getting an idea of what to say. When his eyes met mine, I saw the dread of what was going to come and I regretted not listening to the instructions. Maybe if we did, we wouldn't be here right now. "Ysou remember that ghost, at the old house, remember the one in the garage?" I recalled. To me, he was still five years old with his innocent eyes and baby face. "I protected you, right?"
"You mean, with a battle axe made out of a ruler and paper plate?" Gray asked, quietly – making me smile at the memory and how he remembered.
"Yeah." I smiled nostagically. "You see, nothing is going to get you while I'm around, okay?"
"But you're not always going to be around..." Gray eyed up at me, gloomily. I didn't know how to respond.
"Yeah, I will." I felt something caught in my throat, so I gulped it down. "Hey, we're brothers, okay? And we'll always be brothers, and we'll always come back to one another. No matter what."
"No matter what?" He asked as he looked up at me.
"No matter what." I nodded. I wrapped his arm around him tigher and he pressed his head to my forehead. It was our hug. Now, the only thing I need is to guarantee Jessie's safety.
Jessie's Perspective
My uncle turned to me, nodding his head to make sure I'll go through with this. "You sure you want to go through with this than be with your boyfriend back there?" I rolled my eyes.
"Hundred." I was sat upon my motorcyle, in the triangle formation with my uncle in front and Barry to the side. My uncle sighed before looking up and nodding at the kid who almost died today.
With that, the raptors ran loose – the scent in their minds. They spritned off, with Barry, my uncle, and myself chasing after them – the soldiers in the van behind us. It would be pitch dark without brake lights. We drove through the jungle, going over wolves and chasing after the raptors. "Here we go." I mumbled to myself, going faster to catch up.
Zach's Perspective
Gray and I opened the partition, staring at the video screen our Aunt has been watching, that had four videos on it. Two were green, meaning they were from the Raptor's cam and the other two was footage of Jessie, Owen and their friend, who we still don't know the name of. I saw as Jessie and Owen sped off, almost on the tail of the raptors. Wow, I thought. She's badass. Owen, however went in front of the pack, taking place as the Alpha. I saw Jessie slow down, probably letting her uncle take this opportunity, making me crack a smile.
"Your boyfriend's a badass." I stated, seeing him with the raptors surrounding him.
"Your girlfriend's a badass." Gray whispered in my ear, making me nudge him towards the side of the car, however I still smiled. Now, you just have to stay safe. I mentally told Jessie, even if she definitely couldn't hear that. Her hair was in a ponytail, it moving along with the wind. She still looked beautiful chasing the raptors.
Finally, they stopped and the soldiers ran out the van.
"You know what? No, no no, you guys aren't going to watch this." Aunt Claire closed the partition against Gray's and my protest.
Jessie's Perspective
The huge dinosaur came out, as big as a t-rex – maybe even bigger. It's stomp giving me the creeps. Now, I wished I was in that van – but I needed to be with Echo. Yes, he was the violent one out of the four, nevertheless I still loved him. I rememebred how he got the scar to make him have a pernament sneer. He and Blue wanted were young, and wanted control over the pack. Blue was victorious, Echo got a scar.
The hybrid communicated with the raptors, terrifying all of us.
"Somethings wrong." I mumbled. "They're communicating..." I trailed off before realising something.
"I know why they didn't tell us what it's made of." My uncle dragged along the though. I knew it, however Barry remained clueless.
"Why?"
"He's part..." I started.
"Raptor." My uncle finished, voice full of dread. With that, almost as if planned, the raptors turned around and glared at us. Silence filled the jungle.
"ENGAGE!" One soldier screamed, before not holding back their shots. One person shot a grenade, lighting the whole place on fire. While my uncle and Barry shot, I refused too – watching as the hybrid fall over, before getting back up and running straight past the vines lit up.
"WATCH YOUR SIX!" My uncle screamed. "RAPTORS GOT A NEW ALPHA!" We all walked in silence, hearing the roars far away in the jungle. It was far away as we crept silently towards the jungle, with me being in the back due to a man pushing me aside after noticing me not shooting.
"AH!" One of the soldiers screamed in agonizing pain, must've been attacked. I felt my heart drop. They're turning against us. One soldier before the next, raptor jumped and jumped on them. I started walking backwards, tears creeping up on me as I carefully looked about. It was all so gruesome. Screams were being thrown all over the place. I was now with my uncle, right behind him as we saw a tail in the air. I need to shoot.
I got the gun out, preparing myself to shoot as one of the raptors got up. We both lowered our guns, it was evident it wasn't going to attack us. It cocked his head. I couldn't tell who it was, it definitely wasn't Echo, he had no sneer. The darkness confused me to who it was, and then, from the pure look of innocence, I recognised the youngest... Charlie. Soon, a missle was loaded and launched right at her – the fire shocking both my uncle and I as we landed on our backs, a searing pain running through it.
No.
"GO!" My uncle instructed me as I sat on my motorbike and he was still in the grass. "JUST LISTEN FOR ME ONCE, JUST GO!" With that, I drove right back, going high speed to head back to where I remember the van was parked.
