As Kim Roksu walked to the school entrance, everyone paid heed at his presence.
The Un-bothered Intellectual Prince, mostly just called the Un-bothered Prince for his very well known stoic expression.
It wasn't an understatement to say he's the smartest in the whole school. Kim Roksu learned the quickest of all of them and even understood it in such a way that whenever he explained, other who aren't as intellectually quick were able to catch on.
No one hated him, no one could as he was humble and didn't treat anyone unequally.
Bullies wouldn't dare to torment him, school bullies never tried to get close. Infact, they would shiver after a single glance.
However despite everything, no one gets close to him at all, equally agreeing that Kim Roksu seems... Fundamentally different from the rest.
While everyone is only about to blossom, Kim Roksu has already peaked amongst the heavens by the time they realized.
Kim Roksu walked towards his classroom, ignoring the gazes he oh so wish would leave him alone, and sat on his destined desk.
I hate this. He thought.
His one-of-a-kind reddish-brown eyes swept the classroom. He's quite early today.
The only reason he kept tolerating going to school despite knowing what he'll be dealing with is so that he doesn't waste his scholarship.
A few minutes passed and the bell rings, signaling students to sit down with the teacher greeting the class.
With the class starting, Kim Roksu let himself multi-task by daydreaming about his slacker life and listening to the lecture.
Lunch eventually came and he went to the garden at front of the school.
As he sat down on his usual bench space, the infamous school black striped cat approached him.
It doesn't have a name nor did Kim Roksu knew its gender, however it would always follow him around once it spotted him.
He didn't know why, but he appreciated the company it gives.
He gently placed down an extra lunch he purposely brought for the cat and the cat meowed as thanks.
They both ate quietly till lunch break ended and went their separate ways. Kim Roksu towards his class and the cat into the bushes to sleep. Oh how Kim Roksu wishes he could do that as well.
Hours passed by and school eventually ended, the assigned students to clean the classroom for today has been left while the rest.
Luckily today, Kim Roksu isn't assigned so he gets to leave much earlier than some.
Before leaving the gates, he heard a familiar small meow.
It was the cat he eats lunch with.
He kneeled down and petted the cat, hearing a low-pitched yet pleasant purr from the little furry friend.
After a few minutes of playing with the cat, he stood up and said his goodbye. However the cat didn't stop following him even when he was already out of school.
Kim Roksu glanced around before looking back at the cat.
"Hey, you.. wanna come with me?" He asked.
The cat purred and slowly circled around Kim Roksu's feet. Determining its answer, Kim Roksu gently picked up the cat into his arms and went ahead.
After a long walk, he eventually reached the subway and entered the carriage. The cat jumped into his shoulder as he looked around for any room to sit.
Finding a space, he sat down and patted his lap, gesturing the cat to get down from him shoulder and onto his lap.
The cat gracefully went down with no problem and layed on its back, wanting belly rubs in which Kim Roksu gladly gave.
Having already been used to it, Kim Roksu once again paid no attention to the stares he was getting. It was obvious why some passengers are looking, it was because of the cat.
The stares eventually left him as Kim Roksu sighed in relief.
Finally, he thought. Kim Roksu truly hated attention, he'd much rather be forgotten in the back.
It wasn't too long until the subway lights turned off, and the inside of the train became dark.
Kiiiiiiiik-! The subway train shook loudly and let out a metallic sound.
The cat on his lap latched into his shoulder and cried. Kim Roksu protectively held the cat in his arms and glared at his surroundings. Somethings up.
Those nearer could feel shivers but didn't know where it came from.
He heard screams as well as the sound of other people getting stirred up. It took at least a dozen seconds before the train came to a stop.
Kim Roksu then heard confused voices coming from the passengers
"Uh, what?”
“W-What is this?”
"W-what is going on?"
Kim Roksu stayed quiet, observing his surroundings.
He heard the engineer’s announcement, –Telling all passengers on the train.Telling all passengers on the train.
The loud surroundings became calm. Kim Roksu didn't care, something is definitely happening and its nothing good.
–E-Everyone run away… Run…!
The last announcement confirmed Kim Roksu's thoughts, but he did not panic. Infact, he was abnormaly calm.
Do people usually get calm during these moments? He shook his head and just payed attention to anything that's happening.
There was a beeping sound, and the broadcast turned off. The inside of the train became a mess.
A bright light flashed from the front of the subway train. There was a loud drumming sound followed by a pop.
Something was heading this way in the darkness. Kim Roksu looked at the light source, the cat was hugging him tightly.
'are cats supposed to be this strong..?'
At that moment, it felt like the world was stopping.
He then heard a voice.
