Second day of school and Y/N was still only beginning to get familiar with the things and people. So, when she somehow got lost on her way to her class while also running late, it was no surprise.

"Okay, where was it?" The teen walked on, her bag slung over her back, her eyes squinted as she looked around. Maybe, she should've asked someone for a tour. Nah, she had social anxiety, why should she?

Everyone had gotten to class and, she was more than certain that her hanging around the halls like this wouldn't end well. Detention was surely not a thing around here. About a while of searching later, she heard a loud voice, startling her.

"Hey, new girl!"

She instantly snapped her head in the direction of the voice.

'Oh, it's just that overly enthusiastic boy... wait, is he coming to me!?'

The obvious hit Y/N and she began panicking.

"AAH--- I swear I wasn't staring at you yesterday-- the walls here are just really intriguing-" Y/N blurt out, immediately cringing afterwards.

The boy seemed confused although an amused smile stayed on his face.

"You were staring at me?" He questioned, his words having a teasing undertone to it.

"No, I wasn't," Y/N denied the accusation, backing away. "Why would I be??"

'What in Wattpad is going on-?'

The boy merely chuckled, gazing at the teen. "You're funny."

Y/N stared at him, a thought beginning to form in her mind as she eyed him up and down. What the shell did he want from her? She was scared and confused and somewhat bothered. Also, why did his voice sound so familiar? And, his hair- the girl squinted harder. He was so cute, she couldn't even try punching him and running away. Not that she would've done it anyway. Totally.

"Thank you..." She cautiously muttered, giving him a wary smile, which was almost as good as not there. With that, she backed away again. "I'll just go now. Bye, perso--"

"Pavitr Prabhakar," he smiled, introducing himself.

"Okay, by--"

"Wait, no!"

Pavitr called out, finally out of the second odd trance he was in, staring at her. The teen looked back at him, waiting for him to go on.

"Aren't you gonna go to class?" He asked to which Y/N nodded. "Well, then follow me!"

The H/C-haired girl watched as he held out his hand. She looked down at it, slowly reaching her hand out before suddenly he spoke up again.

"Wait, sorry, do you feel uncomfortable with holding hands?" He questioned, noticing how she seemed hesitant. Y/N looked up to meet his concerned face. "I'm sorry if you do, I didn't mean t--"

"It's fine," she replied, suddenly taking his hand at light speed. Seriously, with just how fast she had been doing things recently, like running away from that Spider guy yesterday and taking this boy- Pavitr's hand, Flash would be shocked at the girl's speed. "I'm okay."

Relieved, he nodded. As he walked on having Y/N follow behind, she smiled slightly. 'He's nice... WHAT THE F-?!' Her smile dropped in an instant and her eyes widened, mouth falling slightly agape. 'Yo, what am I thinking?'

"So, why'd you move here, Y/N?" He asked, his tone having genuine curiosity in it. Y/N stole a glance at him before gazing at their intertwined hands. She rose her eyebrows, confused at how he knew her name.

'How does he--... oh, yeah, right.'

The obvious hit her when she realized they were in the same class. And, that she had to introduce herself in front of the whole class yesterday. A terrifying event.

°°°

"Do we have any new students here?"

Y/N raised her hand, awkwardly waiting for it to be noticed. A moment later, the older woman looked her way and nodded.

"Beta, could you stand up and introduce yourself?" She instructed, fixing her glasses.

The teacher had her black hair up in a bun, dark red glasses framing her face. She was tall, wearing a blue saree. She seemed kind, flashing

Y/N a small smile.

The teen lowly cleared her throat, gradually standing up, seemingly confident as she clasped her shaking hands under the table. 'Let's get this over with.'

The class was full of teens, all looking her way. They seemed bored, Y/N taking it the wrong way as them not liking her.

"Uh, I---I'm Y/N L/N. I recent--recently moved here... from H/T," she introduced, her voice cracking slightly making endless regrets flood her mind. She eyed around the class, feeling everyone's gaze upon her. Thus, when she first saw him.

(Cue the music---ahem-
Tujhe dekha to ye ja---...sorry.)

Their eyes met, Y/N already having a baffled look on her face... as she watched him happily wave to her, a wide grin on his face. She squinted her eyes at him, going to look back to see who he was waving at when the teacher spoke up again.

"What school were you previously in, Y/N?" She asked, not noticing the interaction between the said teen and the boy.

"I was---in (school name)," she answered, earning a nod from the woman.

"Well, thank you, you may sit down."

Y/N immediately sat back down, her mind screaming at her about how she sounded stupid. Her gaze trailed over to that boy again, who was now taking out his notes.

Their seats weren't too far from each others. His somewhat across from hers. She stared at him, thinking back to the weird interaction they had merely a few moments before. As she did, she watched him place his notebook on the desk before glancing at her. Their eyes met and... Y/N wanted to die because of getting caught staring.

He waved at her again, flashing her yet another smile. This time, Y/N could tell he was waving at her...Why??

She stares at him, slowly raising her hand, waving at him as she forced out a smile.

'Why are you waving at me?' She thought, continuing the action. The boy seemed to have gotten even more enthusiastic at her waving back at him.

"Alright, class---"

The teacher began talking, gaining both of their attention as the two immediately turned to face the older woman.

That was the end of the interaction. Unbeknownst to Y/N, the boy looked for her during break later, wanting to know her more out of curiosity. But, unfortunately, she spent it, looking for someplace around school where she could hide if ever needed.

°°°

"Hey, Y/N?"

The girl blinked, realizing Pavitr was calling for her, a worried look framing his face.

"Oh--" Y/N, for the second time that day, began screaming internally. She had zoned out after he asked her a question and now he'd think she was some strange kid with issues. "Oh! Uh-sorry--I zoned out- you were saying?"

She hated her terrible attempt at explaining herself but, oh well.

"That's alright," he assured, shaking his head as he flashed her a grin. "I was just asking why you moved here."

Y/N nodded, about to answer the question before he spoke up again.

"Tell me during the break, okay?" He suggested, confusing Y/N except the confusion soon turned into even more embarrassment when she noticed he was pointing toward their class. She has zoned out for so long, they were already before their class.

"Yeah, okay," she agreed, unaware of what she had said as he opened the door and asked for permission to come in. Upon receiving permission, he walked in, motioning for Y/N to follow.

The rest was rather a blur. Pavitr had explained to their teacher that she got lost, leading to her getting late. Though seemingly sceptical, the teacher agreed, letting Y/N in and head over to her seat. The class went on as usual, Y/N mentally thanked her savior for helping her to class and explaining everything to the teacher.

...

"Hey!"

Y/N slowly looked up, finding Pavitr. He stood by her seat. "Hi," she greeted, eating her food.

"You're gonna stay in class?" He asked, taking a seat beside her. Y/N nodded. "Ah, well..."

The teen glanced at him, seeing him stare ahead, smiling.

'Why are you always smiling?' The thought crossed her mind, although she found his smile adorable. Y/N shook her head, focusing on her lunch again. 'Don't look at him again.'

Have you ever met someone so nice and seemingly sweet who's kind to you, helps you with more than you'd need, and even worries about your needs and likes, making you feel all giddy on the inside despite knowing you just met them and they're just being nice?

Y/N was feeling those giddy feelings. And, she wasn't happy to be feeling the feels.

"I'm staying too," he finally said, drawing her attention.

The teen nodded, not knowing he hadn't brought anything to eat and was supposed to buy something from the canteen but decided not to since... why not? (Nah, he just wants to know the random girl he met in an alleyway, talking to stray dogs about furries and the Illuminati, which is you-)

"I moved here because this place seemed great," Y/N blurt out, answering his question from before. "Also, because, some spider people caused havoc where I lived causing my family to freak out and find a better place to live in."

Pavitr immediately realized this was about the Spider society. He was about to speak up when Y/N interrupted.

"Can I ask you something?" She questioned, her eyes never leaving her food. She was determined to not look at him.

Pavitr nodded. "Yeah, wha--"

"You guys have a superhero here?"

He paused, knowing she was talking about him. Or, well, his alter ego. A grin painted his features.

"Spider-man?" He asked, eager to go on.

Y/N hummed. "His name's Spider-Man?" She turned to face him, severely regretting it but, still not turning away.

"Yep, he's been this city's superhero for a few months now," he went on, intriguing the girl, who listened closely. "I'm pretty close with him."
Was Pavitr trying to impress the pretty new girl? Yes, yes, he was.

Did he know why? Yes, he was in l--- scratch that, he's just trying to be friends. Totally.

"You are?" She let out a low gasp. Not out of amazement but because Pavitr being close with the superhero might mean that he knows about what she did yesterday. The fact that she ran off after quoting the man behind the slaughter. Y/N, once again, found herself spiraling into darkness, engulfed by humiliation.

"Yep, we're like, best friends," he added, thinking she was impressed.

"That's--that's great," she forced out, trying to act nonchalant as she closed her lunch box and put it away. "I met him yesterday."

Immediately after she said that Pavitr nodded, making her realize he knew.

Spider-boy told him.

"He told me," the teen informed while Y/N only smiled.

He knew.

"He said you ran off."

He knew.

Y/N sighed.

'This is why moving sucks.'

"But, he said you seemed nice."

'Wait, maybe, moving doesn't s-- excuse me, what??'

The H/C-haired teen shot him an incredulous look, making him laugh.

"What?" He smiled. "He did say that."

"That's..." Y/N trailed off, trying to find the right words now that she realized he was telling the truth. She glanced down at her lap and shrugged. "That's nice."

He hummed, noticing the small smile that adorned her lips. She was happy. That made him happy.

"He also said you're pretty."

That... was a mistake. No, like, Pavitr meant it but, he wasn't gonna blurt it out like that. His eyes widened as he realized what he said, beginning to feel nervous. At the same time, he watched how Y/N's smile dropped as she stared down at her lap, wide-eyed.

"Uh--" he laughed, trying to make the situation less awkward. "I mean--"

"Thanks," Y/N muttered, making him pause. He nodded, looking away.

There was a moment of silence as Y/N tried to process what was going on and wondered why this whole experience felt like some odd fanfiction where the main character and the love interest both fall in love with each at first sight but don't realize it and everything just goes way too fast. Meanwhile, Pavitr was mentally scolding himself for making things awkward. Eventually, he cleared his throat and turned to face Y/N, determined to fix this. Yet, before he could, the bell rang, and the two looked around to find other students beginning to come in.

"That's the bell," Y/N pointed out the obvious.

"Yeah," Pavitr mumbled in agreement. "Yeah... I'll talk to you later?"

He waited for an answer, hoping she'd agree.

"I... sure, I guess," Y/N responded, looking at him.

He grinned in joy, earning one from the other teen. So, he headed back to his seat just as the next period began.

Classes continued, slowly marching toward the end of the day. With the last bell of the day, the final class came to an end. Students began to eagerly pack up and leave the classrooms, crowding the place.

Y/N slung her bag over her shoulder, walking outside, and then...standing by the door. She truly didn't know what her new friend, or, acquaintance meant by 'talk to you later'. Was it like, tomorrow or, now? Either way, she decided to stand there, just in case. If she was wrong about it, she'll just pretend as though she was... looking around.

About some time later, the boy she had been patiently waiting for came out, instantly lighting up upon seeing her.

"Oh, hi!" He greeted, earning a nod from her. "Were you waiting... for me?"

Y/N nodded again. "Yeah, uhm, I was," she answered, unsure if that really was the right thing to say or... not.

"Really? Thanks! Come on, let's go." He grinned, going to reach for her hand but then pauses, recalling something. He shook his head, deciding against it. He began walking, Y/N beside him. "So, are you heading home now?"

"Yep," Y/N agreed, noticing the undone motion. He was going to hold her hand. Y/N was more than certain that her acquaintance liked physical touch. He was probably a hugger too and was like this with everyone.

"Me too," he lied. He was gonna go feed stray dogs and catch bad guys.

Both walked on, finally at the school gate, him not realizing how she was analyzing every bit and information about him.

The two stopped, turning to face each other, merely staring. Then, they both raised their and waved at each other at the same time. Hence, the two parted ways, one going home and the other to do Spider-Man things.

(A/N: I'm so sorry for the amount of times I made changes here- Probably spammed a bunch of people- ಢᴗಢUm, anyway, I hope the pacing's okay. Let me know if it's going too fast. And, I don't really know much about Indian schools, so, if I get something wrong, I'm sorry- Hope you liked the chapter!)
