"Aw, look how cute."

Ren was awoken by that one sentence. She immediately jumped out of the bed remembering where she was. Ren could see David with a camera in his hands and Liza behind him smiling.

"So what happened in here last night?" Liza asked wiggling her eyebrows.

Ren just walked out the room and went into the living room. She could hear David and Liza following her.

"Tell everyone I had to leave."

"Are you going to stay in touch? Are you coming over again?" Liza asked

Ren nodded at them even though she wasn't sure if she would dry in touch. Liza grabbed her phone and put in her number. Ren did the same to her.

"I'm going to give everyone your number. Is that okay?"

Ren nodded and grabbed her keys and walked out the door. She could hear David behind her.

"Why are you leaving so soon?" He asked

She shrugged. "I've got to get home. I have work soon."

"Where do you work?"

"A little shop. Near my house." David knew she was being vague on purpose.

His voice dropped down to a whisper, "are you feeling uncomfortable? Because of what me and Liza saw. If that's the case Alex won't mind. He's not that type of guy."

Ren got angry. "It's not about Alex. It's about me not wanting to be around. I don't like being around. Yes, last night was fun but I can't do this every night. I'm not made for this. Im not the kind of person who can have loads of friends and hang out every night."

"Well maybe someday you can be. I can help you. We can do this together."

"That's sweet of you to offer. David, it really is, but I just don't know. I don't know."

David looked at her and nodded. He took her phone and put in his number. "Please call me. Whenever you want. If you want to start this. I can help you I promise. You just have to trust me, Ren. Just trust me."

Ren turned around and walked to her car. She could see the look on David's face. It hurt her to see him looking at her like that. Like she'll never change. Like she was weird. Like there was something wrong with her. She hated it.

She pulled away from David's house and made the journey home.

David watched as she pulled out and only went back inside when he could no longer see her car. He saw Alex was now awake and was talking to Liza.

David smiled widely at his friend. "So you and Ren?"

Alex scoffed. "I just met her. Besides, she doesn't like me."

Liza laughed. "Who else here would she be interested in?"

Alex looked at David. "I don't know."

Liza looked between David and Alex. She knew Alex thought Ren liked David. She could tell, and she didn't want to admit it but she felt threatened. And she hadn't felt threatened in their entire relationship. But Ren was beautiful. And sweet. And for someone so quiet she was funny. And that scared her.

"I'll find out. It's going to be you though, Alex"

Alex just nodded even though he knew. Ren liked David.

Just then David got a text.

From Ren

I'll do it.

David smiled to himself. He liked that she trusted him.

To Ren

Good. Text me when you want to meet up. I'm glad you're doing this Ren. You won't regret it.

Alex and Liza looked at him funny but he just shrugged. I'm going to help her. He thought. He was going to help her in more ways than they knew she needed.

I was thinking of doing a couple chapters in David and Ren's POV. Let me know if that's something you'd like!
