The 'Battle of Ginza', as it was now known as, shook the nation of Japan. A surprise attack by an invading army caught innocents into a bloody battle. Dozens slaughtered and many captured but thanks to one man's efforts, it all came to a halt.

What many described as a video game character, the Doom Slayer appeared from the very same gate the invading army came out of. Videos, pictures, and first account views all started circulating like wildfire reaching headlines worldwide.

His exploits of stopping the army as well as preventing potential reinforcements from coming through saved the day. Senior ranking member of the Japanese Self Defense Force wished to know more of this being and what lied beyond the Gate.

A sizeable force of the Japanese Self Defense Force stood in formation receiving their brief.

When the debriefing ended, the troops all mounted their armored humvees waiting for the tanks to roll on through. Inside the gate was nothing but pitch black with a small light source at the end of the long corridor getting brighter and brighter.

As soon as the first units made their way through, the landscape was all but destroyed and torn apart.

JSDF soldier 1:"What happened here?"

JSDF soldier 2:"Looks like some sort of heavy artillery just dropped their asses. There's craters and burning debris everywhere." The two men then received a transmission from another unit ahead of them.

Alpha:"This is Alpha, radio check."

JSDF soldier 1:"Roger Alpha, Rocker lima charlie."
(Lima Charlie is loud and clear in military terms.)

Alpha:"You don't think it could have been that Doom Guy, do you?"

JSDF soldier 1:"I doubt it, Alpha. It's just a video game."

Alpha:"Roger Rocker, Alpha copies."

JSDF soldier 2:"I hope he's on our side."

JSDF soldier 1:"I hope so too..." He looked over to his driver and reluctantly agreed. Seeing this much destruction caused by one man has a heavy impact on morale of the troops.

The Imperial Capital

News about the crushing defeat of the invading army made it's way to the capital. As if that wasn't enough, the Doom Slayer was sighted near the staging area at Alnus Hill, destroying the entire army that retreated.

Back in His Majesty's throne room, Marcus debriefed the Emperor of the losses they've sustained.

Marcus:"Your Majesty, including the losses of the dead and missing. We've estimated our total to one-hundred thousand. The Doom Slayer, yet again, destroyed an army as well as what lied beyond the gate. The remnants of the leadership all fleed their houses."

Molt:"Hmph, just as expected."

Marcus:"What worries me is the movement at the gate. There's been a mass formation of troops sighted."

Molt:"Everything seems to worry you, Marcus. I'll leave things to you, employ the scorched earth tactic."

Marcus:"But that'll ruin our tax revenue, Your Highness."

Molt:"It can't be helped, old friend. Now then, what has become of Zorzal?"

Marcus:"The crown prince has..."

Molt:"Has what?"

Marcus:"I apologize, Your Highness, but he's left with a contingent of troops to Alnus Hill. A group of his loyal followers all acted on his orders, he threatened to have me kill if I said a word."

Molt:"That fool...no need to apologize, Marcus. This was bound to happen, I knew he wasn't going to stay as I told him." After pondering on his son, Princess Piña came through the throne room doors.

Molt:"What is it, Piña?"

Piña:"Your Majesty, why are you here resting in your throne room whilst our Empire is at an all time low!? Have you gone mad!?"

Marcus:"Princess!?"

Piña:"Marcus, did you ever mention the situation at the hill!? We have our men captured by the enemy as we speak!"

Molt:"That's enough! Piña, let me ask you this, do you know who was also there at the gate?"

Piña:"What are you talking about, father?"

Molt:"The Slayer was there destroying our armies and killing our men. Did you not bring news to me that you had a chat with him? Why has he done this?"

Piña:"I-I did not know that..."

Molt:"I see, then you already know one such as him will pose a threat if he has taken the enemies side."

Piña:"I will make sure that does not happen!"

Molt:"Your Knight Order will be deployed to scout the enemy. First, go to the Warrior Bunny Tribe and make contact with the Slayer."

Piña:"Very well, I'll be on my way then."

Molt:"Good, safe travels."

Vega:"It looks like the Japanese Self Defense Force have set up quite a defensive position. Their weaponry gives them an advantage in battle."

The Doom Slayer stood atop a mountain that looked over Alnus Hill. He's been watching the JSDF obliterate each wave of soldiers the Empire sends their way.

Vega:"Their total amount lost is estimated to be around 120,000 since the late night attack."

The Slayer sighed and sat down taking his helmet off. He looked at the once beautiful grassy plain which was now all crater filled and grim.

Vega:"Looks like the JSDF is sending out a small reconnaissance team." He picked up his head and looked at the small convoy that was leaving.

Vega:"It would be most beneficial to gain information from the Japanese forces. The Earth we saw may be entirely unaffected by Hell's forces."

Donning his helmet, the Slayer used his thrusters to catch up with the small recon force.

It didn't take long for him to catch up as he was far faster than the humvees the Japanese used. Although, the Slayer stopped a bit further back as to not gain attention from them.

Vega:"It looks like they're surveying that forest...!!! There appears to be a problem, that forest is home to dozens of elves but not for long. It seems to be getting attacked from another Flame Dragon such as the one you killed not long ago."

"Tch!"

The Slayer clicked his tongue since this was the exact opposite of what he wanted. Equipping his rocket launcher with the lock-on burst mod, he dashed right past the recon team heading straight into the forest.

???:"Did you see that!? That was him, wasn't it!?"

???:"Shut it! Everyone mount up and follow him in!"

???:"Are you crazy!?"

???:"Just do as I say, now move!"

Vega:"Well, you have certainly gained their attention. The Japanese troops have begun moving in our general direction. The Flame Dragon is coming into view now."

Coming into view of the village, the Slayer caught sight of the gigantic dragon. This one, however, was far larger than the one he slayed back in the Bunny lands.

The dragon stopped spewing fire at the fleeing elves instead focusing it's attention on the large man.

Vega:"We must kill the beast."

Bringing out his rocket launcher, the Slayer fired a salvo and with his mod it soon found its target. The beast roared after taking the three missiles causing it to crash into the ground.

Putting away his rocket launcher and grabbing his Crucible, the Slayer ran at the dragon to kill it. He was stopped when the beast used its tail to side swipe him into a tree.

Vega:"To be caught off guard like that is certainly new. Are you alright, Slayer?"

The Slayer gritted his teeth and pulled out his Super Shotgun, he wasn't fucking around this time.

As the Flame Dragon started to fly into the air, a hook latched onto it's neck causing it to roar. From the smoke and fire, the Doom Slayer came into view being reeled in by the MeatHook. When the Flame Dragon opened it's mouth to breath fire, he pulled the trigger blasting it's lower jaw into shreds.

The Slayer, still being reeled in, used the DoomBlade on his left wrist to pierce through the dragons head, killing it.

From the tree line, the JSDF soldiers watched the mayhem unfold.

???:"There's no way he just did that."

???:"First Lieutenant Itami, what are you're orders!?"

Itami:"Sergeant First Class Kurokawa, tend to the burn victims! Kuribayashi, you and the rest of the team help her!"

Kurokawa/Kuribayashi:"Sir!"

Itami:"Kurata, Pops, you're with me! We have to make sure he isn't a threat."

Kurata:"Why do we have to do this? He literally killed an ancient dragon with a blade."

Itami:"Because command said if we were to counter him then try to converse with him and find out his intentions. I personally hate this too, I'd rather be back home collecting doujin."

While the two were chatting it up as they advanced, the Slayer looked down at his handiwork until Vega said something.

Vega:"Three individuals are making their way towards you. I believe they wish to talk instead of fight." He told him. The Slayer turned around and easily towered over the smaller Japanese men.

Kurata:"H-holy crap."

Kuwahara:"Goodness, never seen anything like this in all my life."

Itami:"Stop, let me do the talking."

Vega:"That won't be necessary, although I believe introductions are in order."

Itami:"Huh? You understand Japanese?"

Vega:"The Doom Slayer does not but I do. I am known as Vega, a Sentient Intelli-"

Kurata:"Holy shit! He's actually real, just like in the video games!!"

Itami:"Kurata...not now. Well, I'm First Lieutenant Itami Youji, this is Sergeant Major Kuwahara and Sergeant Kurata."

Vega:"What does he mean by 'video game' ?"

Itami:"Uh about that...it's best it to talk about it back with our team if you don't mind. We just need to confirm if you're not with the enemy and what your intentions are."

Vega:"Very well then, in return we wish to know what is Earth's current state."

Itami:"Sure, sounds fine with me."
