Out of both of them Rosalice and Renee both knew their roles in their twin dynamic, Renee the healer, and Rosalice the fighter. There were times when the two had recently, firstly went through high school the hell it brought them. Rosalice rounded up in many secret fights which resulted in blood and getting a call home to her grandparents. Yet she would never allow anyone to touch her, not even the nurses. Renee would have to be taken away from whatever period she was in and help take care of her bloody sister. Then the two would sit there alone talking about the fight and what Rosalice learnt from it. Typically the usual half-answer came, Nothing. Just that people hate without reasoning; despise what they can never be or control. And at home... Rosalice never listened to her parents rebelling against them in her own way by sneaking out. Tuning out their words by imagining, daydreaming herself painting.

Entering the diner just outside of Louisiana Rosalice and Leah both walk in their eyes instantly finding the table sat by with two certain Mikealson siblings. Smiling at the sight of them she made her way towards them.

Darkness winning over the light in the sky. Elijah instantly stood when noticing, smelling the all too familiar potent scent that he had grown to miss. Insanity began messing with him. Watching, waiting as she sets down the baby seat, he embraces her instantly. His large arms wrapped around her torso. As she too in turn wraps her arms around him taking in his scent that she had grown to miss. Strangely beneath the lavender and raining forest scent he had come to now smell like home. Like Forks.

Pulling away the two stare each other in the eyes, reading the other. Elijah seeing the pure happiness. Rosalice seeing the distant monster that was kept at bay for so long. A monster she knew that lived inside of her as well, the same monster that made her chug every ounce of water until she was left practically coughing, gasping for air. And she knew it. Knew that his temper was shorter than before the months she spent with him before leaving. She knew the difference between them.

Rosalice knew him. It felt as if the two spent most of their lifetime trapped in similar cages watching the other as they tried breaking free of whatever confined them but never knowing why they were doing the things they did. To Rosalice it felt as if they had spent their forever many lifetimes before but she knew he was from the viking ages and she in the new 20th century.

Tearing her eyes away she looks over at her werewolf companion, murmuring out, "Rebekah I don't believe you had the chance at meeting Leah."

Leah gave Rebekah an unreadable emotionless look. Rebekah returned the same look. "Leah Clearwater." She introduces herself.

"Rebekah Mikealson."

The shifter turned back to her hybrid friend and instantly started to tease, "So you and original leech over here not saying I love you?" Blood began rushing and coating Rosalice's cheeks burning and turning them into a pink tone. "I thought mates didn't go the slow route." Leah continued on, even when Rosalice tried shushing her. "Though you and Elijah didn't go the slow route, y'all had a fast pace relationship-"

"One night stand." Rosalice hisses out.

"That blossomed into you two being mates," said Leah. "And had these two adorable twins. I would've thought you two would have said 'I love you' now?" She continued on and on. "Reneesme and Jacob didn't wait."

"Could you possibly shut up for two seconds!" Rosalice spat out.

Leah stared at the brunette Cullen in pure silence. Sighing in relief, Rosalice turns to Rebekah, opening her mouth to say something further. Two seconds passed, "Neither did your mom or dad. Bella was all in for fuck-"

"Oh my god!' Rosalice curses. "Just shut up!"

"Can I finish my sentence before you interrupt?" Leah raises an eyebrow, tilting her head to the side.

"Then what was the whole point of me interrupting?" Rosalice shoots back.

Leah counters, "What was the whole point of you and Elijah doing it in your art studio?"

"Bedroom," Rosalice corrects, dragging her hands over her face. "It was my bedroom."

Leah hides her smirk, humming. "Or was it?"

Rosalice grew hostile, "Come back to me when you have a love life... oh wait!"

Leah shakes her head, "Come back to me when you're able to say I love you to Elijah."

Rosalice clenches her jaw, flipping off the proud shifter. Done with their banter. Turning back to the two amused originals, she blushes once again out of embarrassment. Muttering under her breath, "I fucking hate you."

"Wanna say that with your chest?" Leah bumps Rosalice's shoulders.

Now with an annoyed look, ticked off, she bites back her words of choice guided towards Leah. "Can I assume that Esther found you too?"

Frowning, Rebekah nods, "Seems Esther's attacking with her usual fervor."

"Yes, Mother tortured me for days with memories I thought I'd buried long ago," Elijah adds, agreeing with his sister, all too calm and collected with what he had come to say. Licking his lips, his brown eyes look down at both of his twins, smiling at the sight of them. "Oh, you two have grown big." Scooping up his second born child he holds her. Cooing at Sage. Rosalice's eyes widened at the sound of this, growing worried for her mate, sending a worried glance towards his younger sister.

Elijah then continues, 'Then, she made an offer... to make us all mortal again." Rebekah grew stunned having little words in the moment. "You see, sister, Mother believes that by placing us in new bodies, we can then reclaim some kind of... purity. You can begin families of your own again. And I have to confess, Rebekah..." Rosalice stood there listening to every word he had to say to his sister. "This invitation, however cruel in delivery, had a certain... appeal."

Rebekah grasps a hold of her older brother's hand squeezing it in a comforting manner. The blonde haired Mikealson eyes find his sleeve with a smear of blood becoming more worried.

"You needn't worry. We're safe." Elijah tells her.

Rebekah licks her lips and stands up, pulling a fake smile. "Looks like this little one needs her diaper changed." Moving she shoulder checks Rosalice.

Blinking in surprise, Rosalice tilts her head watching Rebekah's eyes glance at her before looking up at her brother's head. Giving some indicator to read his mind. "Here, my love."

Rosalice eyes trail after Rebekah reading her mind, seeing as she thought of everything. Heading across the restaurant, she could hear Rebekah's horror as she saw yet another smear of blood on the counter while in passing. Reading as Rebekah entered the kitchens thinking of dozens of bloodied bodies strewn around the room. Shielding Hope's face, she glances back at Rosalice with a huge frown before entering the bathroom.

Taking in a sharp inhale, Elijah eyes lifts up in worry, "Is there something wrong, my darling?" His hair dangling just over his eyes hiding the hazel brown.

Rosalice clears her throat, "I'm fine, I just was thinking back to what Emmett had said to me."

Elijah made his way towards her, keeping his eyes trained on her, his lips parted. "And what did he say to you?"

The Cullen woman tells him, truthfully, "That I'm his favorite niece." Breaking out into a large smile. "It's the only thing I can seem to beat Nessie in." Elijah gives her a strange look but waves it off. "You must see Salem." Grasping a hold of Sage, Rosalice sets her back into her carrier moving towards Salem who's eyes held such similarities to his father's. The Mikealson man smiles at the sight of him. "He has your smile." Elijah notes loving every bit of everything of his children's lives.

Rosalice's hands slip up his shoulders squeezing them lightly. "I know." she tells him, bluntly. Her arms moved to snake around his neck whilst his back faced her.

"It's difficult to believe me and Rebekah, my family, were this innocent once." He sighs heavily, letting out, "We mustn't let the world ever hurt them."

Rosalice hums in agreement, sliding out a hidden dagger just beneath her sleeve and piercing his artery. Stumbling back just out of view from his children. Gasping as his hands grab a hold of Rosalice's arms, digging his nails into them leaving crescent marks behind. Blinking his eyes faded with its life as he fell backwards falling into Rosalice who tried her best to lay him down gently.

Leah's eyes are as wide as the moon. "Why the hell did you do that?"

Wiping her hands, Rosalice removes the blade from his neck blood that pooled from the knife oozing out. "Get them in the car, I'll help Rebekah with him."

"That doesn't explain why you did that to him."

"I'll explain later."
