Y/N (first name)

L/N (last name)

Y/N/N (nickname)

Father: unknown

Mother: Was arrested when Y/N was seven

Gloria was your mums best friend; she let you live with her.
โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”

Gloria, Jay, And I was all at Manny's soccer game. Jay was sat down, whilst Gloria and I was stood up.
"Vamos, Manny! Kick it! Kick it!" Gloria shouted, "Don't let himโ€” Kick it! Manny, go! A la derecha! A la derecha! No! No, no. He tripped him, Jay. Where's the penalty?"

"Gloria," Jay began, putting his newspaper down to look at her, "they're O and 6. Lets take it down a notch" Jay said. I agreed with him.
Jay and Gloria had been married for 6 months.

"Manny, stop him! Stop him! You can do it!" Gloria shouted. Manny's crush rode by on her bike, making Manny distracted. Due to Manny's distraction the other team got another point. Manny gave her a little wave, but she didn't wave back.

"Damn it, Manny" one of the boys on his team complained.

"Come on, coach. You gotta take that kid out." A soccer mum said. Gloria turned to the mum. I knew that she was gonna snap.

"You wanna take him out? How about I take you out" Gloria raised her voice.

"Aunt Gloria." I began, not wanting to cause a bigger scene.

"Honey, honey." Jay also began, but Gloria cut him off.

"Why don't you worry about your son?" Gloria said to the soccer mum, raising her voice, "He spent the first half with his hand in his pants!" At least I wasn't the only one that noticed. The mum opened her mouth but no words came out, so she decided to walk away.

A man walked over to Gloria and I. The man stood next to me, his arms crossed.
"I've wanted to tell her off for the last six weeks." He said, taking his sunglasses off.
"I'm Josh, Ryan's dad" he said, putting his hand out for Gloria to shake.

"Hi, I'm Gloria Pritchett. Manny's mother." She said.

"This your daughter?" The man, Josh, asked, looking down at me.

"No. She's my best friends daughter" Gloria replied.

"I'm Y/N." I said, Josh nodded then looked at Jay.

"This must be your dad" He said to Gloria.

"Her dad?" Jay asked.

"Yeah."

"No. No. That's funny. Actually, no, I'm her husband." Jay said, putting his newspaper down. "Don't be fooled by the, uhโ€”" He attempted to stand up, but failed. "Give me a second here"

โ€”โ€”

Manny had finished his game, and we were currently walking towards the car. "I'm quitting soccer" Manny suddenly spoke, "it is a game for children" he continued, but his reasons as to why he was quitting soccer made no sense, seeing as though he was a child.

"Manny, you are a child." I told him, making him gave me a death glare.

"No, You're not quitting." Gloria said to him, "You would have stopped that goal if you weren't staring at that little girl."

"She is not a girl. She's a woman." Manny said.

"She's a girl." I told him. Once again, he gave me a death stare. If looks could kill, I'd be dead in seconds.

Gloria, Manny, And I got in the car. Jay was already sat in the car. "You know, Gloria, that little blowup with that other mum, why do you have to do things like that?" Jay asked as we all put our seatbelts on.

"If somebody says something about my family, I'm going toโ€”" Gloria began, but Jay cut her off.

"I'm just saying" He began as he stared driving, "you could take it down here a little bit. That's all"

"Oh yeah. 'Cause that's where you live, down here. But I live up here!" she said, raising her hand.

"Yeah, but you don't have to be so emotional all the time. That's all I'm saying. Manny, Y/N, You're with me on this, right" Jay said. I stayed silent.

"I wanna tell Brenda Feldman I love her." Manny exclaimed, totally ignoring what Jay had just said.

"Oh, for God's sakes." Jay and I both say.

"Manny, she's 16." Gloria told him.

"Oh. It's okay for you to take an older lover?" Manny said, annoyance in his tone.

"Hey, watch it." Jay warned Manny.

"I wanna go to the mall, where she works." Manny said, "But first I need to get my white shirt, the silk one."

"Okay. If that's what you really want to do." Gloria gave up. She'd tend to give up on the two's disagreements, always letting him do what he wanted to do.

"Seriously." Jay looked at Gloria for a second. "Not to be the evil stepdad, but if you put on a puffy white shirt... and declare your love for a 16-year-old, you're gonna be swinging from the flagpole in your puffy white underpants."

Everything was silent for a few seconds. The only noise was the passing cars, or the engine.

"Stop the car." Manny suddenly exclaimed, staring out of the window I was sat next to.

"Why?" I asked, looking out of the window. My eyebrows furrowed when I saw nothing but cars and a bed of flowers.

"Just stop the car!"

"Oh, where are you going?" Gloria asked as Jay pulled over. Manny didn't answer, but instead took off his seatbelt and climbed over me to leave. I stared out of my window to see what he was doing. Gloria shook her head and turned to Jay. "See? You hurt his feelings." She said.

"Ahโ€” Well, if it toughens him up a little bit thenโ€”" Jay began but I cut him off.

"He's picking flowers." I told the two, looking away from the window.
Jay turned to look out of his window.

"Oh geez." He said in a grumpy tone.

โ€”โ€”

We was now at the mall. Once we walked in, Manny made a B-Line towards some stairs. Once he had reached the stairs he ran up them. I followed behind, stopping a sort of balcony that overlooked the lower floor of the mall.
"Brenda Feldman." He smiled. Across the mall was a Blonde girl. She stood at a stall which said 'Foto Fun!'

"That's the girl you're in love with?" I asked, turning away from the girl to look at Manny. He shushes me. "She's not gonna hear us" I told him as Gloria and Jay caught up with us.

"I guess." Manny shrugged. Gloria noticed a small piece of paper in Manny's hand.

"What is that?" Gloria asked Manny, pointing at the piece of paper.

"A poem I have written for Brenda Feldman." He replied proudly.

"Of course it is." Jay said, from beside me.

"I put my thoughts Into words and now my words into action" Manny continued.

"Hey," Jay spoke, " I'll give you 50 bucks not to do this" Jay finished, just as Manny was about to walk away.

"I'm 11 years old. What am I gonna do with money?" Manny asked before he walked up the remaining stairs.

"What are you gonna do with a 16-year-old?" Jay asked, but Manny was either too far to hear, or decided not to reply.

"He's like a bullfighter" Gloria said with pride.

"Mmm. You ever see a bullfight? I can't watch this" Jay shook his head.

"You're in such a bad mood." Gloria frowned at Jay. "And I know why. It's because that man thought you were my father."

"No." Jay denied.

"Yes."

"No."

"When you say 'no' like that, it's always 'yes.' Come on. We're in the mall. Let's get you, like, some younger clothes." Gloria began. She then pointed at a shop with some bright and flashy clothes in the window, "There's a store rightโ€”"

"I don't need any younger clothes" Jay cut her off, "and I don't care what some jackass in a pair of ripped jeans thinks about me."

"Good. You shouldn't. You should only care about what I think. I love you, and I don't care how old you are. So stop being a gloomy goose and stop being so hard on Manny, and Y/N" Gloria said.

"The only reason I'm hard on Manny and Y/N... is because i don't wanna see them make a fool of themselves." Jay said then looked over at Manny, whom was currently looking down st his paper and was telling the girl his poem. "And I can smell that hair goo of his from here"

"Look, I don't know what's gonna happen to him over there." Gloria frowned, looking at Manny, "But you're his family now, and that means only one thing, you be the wind on his back, not the spit in his face" She looked at him and smiled.

"What?" Jay's eyebrows furrowed together.

"It's something my mum always says" Gloria smiled, thinking about the old memories.

"My mum also said that" I smiled, but soon frowned, missing my mum.

"It's gorgeous in Spanish." Gloria said then noticed Manny st the tip of the stair case, "Look, he's there" Manny didn't look happy, I could tell he had been rejected.

"She has a boyfriend." Manny told us as he walked down the few steps.

"Oh I'm sorry, mi nino" Gloria said, And I I hugged him. When we broke from the hug Manny spoke.

"I gave her my heart, She gave me a picture of me as an old-time sheriff." He said, then flipped the picture to show us.

"Oh." Gloria frowned.

"That was pretty stupid of me, wasn't it" Manny frowned, looking away from the picture.

"No, mi amor. It was brave." Gloria smiled at him before turning to look st Jay and I. "Right, Jay and Y/N? Brave."

"Very brave." I told him.

"W-Well, you'll know better next time." Jay said. I shook my head then looked back at Manny.

"Come on. Let's get a pretzel. Mentira. A mi si me gusta" Gloria said, then squealed.
Gloria, Manny, And I walked behind Jay. Jay was stopped by someone and they spoke, telling him that the mall walkers stay to the right. Jay looked at the clothes in the shop next to us, then at the mall walkers, a second or two later he entered the shop.

โ€”โ€”

We arrived at Mitch and Cams house. Phil, Claire And their kids had also arrived. They entered first, and a few seconds later we entered. Jay rang the door bell, at least five times.
"Knock, knock! We're here. Coming in" Jay said, looking into the room.

"Don't worry, dad. Nothing gay going on here." Mitch told him. The four of us entered the house. We had all changed into a more formal attire, while Jay decided to stay in his bright orange outfit. Mitch stared at Jay's clothes for a second before speaking, "May I take your multicoloured coat and bejewelled cap?" Mitch asked.

"Yeah. Yeah." Jay said, giving Mitch his hat.

"Hey, Jay." Phil said.

"Hi"

Gloria entered, wearing an Orange dress with other colours on it. I wore a simple (favourite colour) dress. And manny was wearing the same clothes he had on before, seeing as though most of his outfits were formal. Everyone greeted each other.

"Oh, what a beautiful dress." Phil said, admiring Gloria's dress.

"Ay, thank you, Phil." Gloria said, but Phil must've heard 'Feel' because he hesitantly put two fingers on her waist and moved down. Claire grabbed Phil's arm and dragged him away.

"So," Jay spoke up, "how was your trip?" Jay asked Mitch.

"It was good. It was good actually" Mitch said with a nod, "But, um, 'bout that, I-I have something that I need to tell you guys" He said with a happy tone. I sat down next to Haley, whom was on her phone, like always. "Umโ€” Uh, we didn't just go to Vietnam for pleasure. We, uh, kind of have some big news."

"Oh, God. If cam comes out here with boobs, I'm leaving" Jay said in a grump tone.

"Dad." Claire warned.

"I hope he didn't embarrass you, mum" Haley said, looking away from her phone, and up at her mother.

"Oh, don't mind her. Haley had her first boy over today... And Phil shot him." Claire said casually.

"What?" I asked, my eyebrows furrowed together.

Luke looked at me then woke, "He shot me too. It hurt" he frowned and rubbed his arm.

"Oh, so with a toy gun, or something? Not an actual gun." I asked, he nodded.

"Anyway," Mitch continued, scratching st his eyebrows; something he usually did when he was anxious. " um, so, about-about a year ago, Cam and I started feeling this longing, you know, for something more like, uh, maybe a baby?"

"Ooh, that's a bad idea" Jay shook his head, taking a sip of his beverage.

"What do you mean, 'bad idea?'" Mitch asked.

"Well, kids need a mother. I mean if you two guys are bored, get a dog." Jay says, slowly walking around the room, drink in hand.

"Okay, we're not bored, Dad."

"I support you, Mitchell, even though you're not my son." Gloria told him, giving him a warm smile.

"I-I-I-I think what Dad is trying to say... is that, Mitchell, you're a little uptight" Claire said, "Kids bring chaos, andโ€” and you don't handle it well."

"That's not what Dad's saying. That's what you're saying. And it's insulting in a whole different way." Mitch said, his tone turning defensive.

Phil decided to jump in on the soon-to-be argument, "Okay, people. Let's all 'chillax.'"

"Hey, where's Uncle Cameron?" Alex asked from beside me.

"Yeah, where is he?" I asked, looking around the room.

"Thank you. Thank you." Mitch said, to Alex and I. "Someone who's not insulting me notices he's not here."

"Oh, so that's the big announcement, huh?" They began in a low tone, "You two broke up."

"Wellโ€”" Mitch began, but Jay cut him off.

"Well, a baby wasn't going to help that anyway. And let me tell you. You're better off, because he was a bit of a drama queen." Jay took another sip of his drink.

"No, no, no. Stop. Stop. No. You come into my house and you insult me and my boyfriend, who, by the way, is not dramaticโ€”" Mitch began, but was cut off by The Circle Of Life. "Oh, god" Mitch looked down, pinching the bridge of his nose. Cam walked into the room, where everyone was sat, he carried a baby. He then lifted the baby in the air, Like Rafiki did with Simba in the Lion King.

"We adopted a baby" Mitch said, looking up with a big grin. "Her name is Lily."

"Exciting!" Cam grinned, lowering the baby, Lily.

"Just turn it off" Mitch said to Cam.

"I can't turn it off. It's who I am." Cam said.

"The music."

"Oh, Yes, the music." Cam said, then turned off the music. "Come say hi to Lily."

"Ay, miren a la princesita. The little princess" Gloria squealed as everyone walked over to Cam and Mitch.

"She's so cute!" Haley said.

"Let me see her. Let me see her. Let me see her." Claire said. Jay stared at us all.

"Hi there, Lily" Phil said. "'Lily.' Isn't that gonna be hard for her to say?" Phil asked. Claire and I looked at him.

"Phil." Claire whispered.

"Excuse me." Jay began, clearing his throat to get everyone's attention. "Okay, I-I-I know that I said I thought this was a bad idea. But, uh, what do I know? I mean, it's not like I wrote the book on fatherhood. Been trying all my life to get it right. I'm still screwing up. Right Y/N and Manny?"

"I wrote a song about it in the car." Manny said, making me look at him.

"You did?" I asked Manny, to which he replied with a nod. "Okay, I have to hear it" I whispered to Manny before Jay continued.

"Of course you did. Uhโ€” Anyway, I'm happy for you. And, uh, you should know that, uh, I'm not here to spit in your face, I'm here to... blow at your back." Jay said, remembering what Gloria had told him earlier. Everyone was confused, just like he was when he first heard it.
"Well, it'sโ€” It's supposed to sound better in Spanish."

"Voy a ser la brisa en tu espalda, no quien te escupa en la frente." Gloria smiled.

"Oh that's beautiful"
"That's really nice"
"And thank you too"

"Anyhow, Mitch, uhโ€”" Jay continued, but was quickly dismissed by Mitch.

"No, Dad, it's-it'sโ€”" Mitch began, but Lily started crying.

"She wants her daddy!" Claire said.
"She wants her grandpa!" Cam said.

"Do you wanna meet grandpa?" Mitch asked, taking Lily from Cam.

"What? Are you kidding?" Jay said.
Mitch walks over to him. "She's one of us now. Let me see the little pit sticker." Jay says, then chuckled. "Hey, you're a cutie, aren't you?" We spent more time with Lily, Mitch, and Cam, before leaving.
