This chapter takes place a year after Rex and the others left.

Drakes House
It's been almost 1 year since Rex and the others had left to go to the future, to go back home. Today is April 12, Zoes birthday. While all of her family members are setting up the decorations and cake for her birthday Zoe is standing on her balcony looking up at the stars. Someone knocks on the door and asks to come in, Zoe allows them to come in. And after all, it's Max who walks into her room.

"Happy Birthday!", says Max with enthusiasm.

"Thank you.", says Zoe.

"What's wrong?", he asks.

"It's just- nothing.", she says.

"Oh come on. Don't lie to me. Tell me the truth.", he says.

"I just... can't believe... Rex..... he isn't here for my 14th birthday, I just can't believe it's been almost 1 year.", she says.

"Yeah, I know. I miss him a lot too.", he says. "Heh. This kinda reminds me of his birthday. When I usually get him out of his room to come downstairs."

"Do you think he'll ever come back?", she asks.

"I don't know, but let's not give up hope after all.", he says. "Let's go downstairs. The others are waiting to celebrate."

Zoe nods her head and walks down with Max. Waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs is her family, they all have big and happy smiles on their faces. Confetti is everywhere when she reaches the bottom of the stairs. Everyone greets Zoe with a warm hug and a gift.

"Thank you so much everyone.", says Zoe.

The others just smile at her.

"It's time for my little girl to cut her cake! Get over here 14 year old!", says Dr. Drake.

Zoe runs over to her father and gets ready to blow out her candles. Since she misses Rex so much she eats his favorite cake for her birthday even though she doesn't like it that much.
She blows out her candles and everyone starts to sing.

"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you~! Happy birthday dear Zoe~! Happy birthday to you!", says everyone in unison.

Max starts to clap his hands in a rhythm to another birthday song "are you 1?", he asks.

Zoe shakes her head.

"Are you 2?", he asks.

She shakes her head.

"Are you 3?", he asks.

Zoe shakes her head again.

"Are you 4?", he asks.

"Are you 10?", he asks.

"No. I'm past that age Max.", says Zoe.

"Are you 12?", he asks.

She nods her head once more.

"Are you 13?", he asks.

"Are you 14?", he asks for the final time.

"Yes! I am!", says Zoe.

Zoe smiles at him. After that little game of guessing her age, everyone starts to eat some cake. After the party is over everyone heads home. Max and his parents head back to their house and Amy and her family head back also.
