Fame embraced them in a way better than neither expected. They were no longer Iva and Barefaced rather became a single entity with an identity called “Lost in my way”. Confusion still prevailed amongst people where some said Iva's voice made the lyrics special while others felt the lyrics gave the soul to her voice. Though it was debatable, the end result was Iva as well as Barefaced were progressing to a fame they wished. There were times when Iva expressed her feeling of how this book changed her life for better.

Despite knowing it was a book, she considered it as a soul and conversed with Barefaced regularly.

'You have gained popularity. So wanted to know if you will miss me?' Iva posed a question to Barefaced.

She expected a flip of a page or a sentence from one of the pages as a response. This time he chose to stay still, there was neither a page flip nor a sentence in the book which could answer her. She tried asking this multiple times to him but every time this question came to him, Barefaced chose to remain still.

There came another phrase from Iva 'Looks like you are enjoying this popularity'.

Flock of pages flipped at a pace which was faster than usual. Iva understood that he consciously evades the question of whether he would miss her. She did not take to her heart and still continued the special bonding with Barefaced.

Whenever she was asked to sing “Lost in my way”, Iva used to place Barefaced in front of her and sang by looking at the lyrics though it was familiar to her. This was done with an intention to make Barefaced familiar to her audience.

'You gave me the much needed luck which I longed for years. Glad to have met you in my life' he thought to himself but never expressed it to Iva.

In next few weeks, the book gained immense popularity that the stocked copies began reducing in count. This forced for a revised edition of the book to be printed. Never had he seen such a surge for him these many years. He did not expect his life to change drastically that too within short span of time. Is it not how life works? Expected growth happening at unexpected times. Maybe it was destiny's design.

Slowly the thought of Iva started sinking into Barefaced. Their emotions were merged perfectly as Iva who was otherwise chirpy choked when she sang the song or was asked about the book. For Barefaced, the excitement was in a different league when it was for Iva. Weeks passed for not knowing if he would miss her. The best part of Iva was accepting Barefaced for the way he is by not forcing him on knowing everything but still standing for him.

By this time, the new edition of Barefaced was launched in all book stores. Iva decided to go to the same bookstore where everything happened. As Iva picked the new edition of the book, the first page was an unexpected surprise to her. The page read

Dedicated to my first reader,
Iva
You will be missed the most.

It was an inclusion to the revised edition. There was no dedication page in the previous edition she had bought few months back. This made Iva even more emotional as she never saw it coming from Barefaced. They realized that something between them was pure magic and can no longer be recreated.

Barefaced understood he would never be able to feel the same with any reader that he comes across hereafter. Iva knew he was too special to even think of some other book replacing his spot in her life.
