"You're more hassle than you're worth, Megs." Sighing as they were motioned to follow yet another security guard into a side room, Darryl shook his head. Nodding as if to say he knew, Mega hugged his arms to his chest and looked at the floor, eyes welling up.

"Don't listen to him," Zak murmured, "We wouldn't leave you there for the world." Leaning down and holding his arms out, he pulled him up and balanced him on one hip.

"You know that's not what I meant," Darryl replied softly, sitting down on one of the hard plastic chairs. Zak sat next to him, Mega on his lap, and he put his arm around him.

The door swung open behind them, and they turned to see a familiar face strolling in. "Dr. Snow?!" Zak's eyes widened as she sat down behind the interrogation desk.

"How do you know my - oh!" Laughing, she dumped her files on the table in front of her and crossed her arms over her chest. "What have you done this time?"

"Well, um... we may have accidentally adopted a child on our honeymoon," Darryl blushed, looking away.

"You WHAT?" Grinning, she turned to Zak. "You were always an impulsive idiot, but seriously? I've been called in to check you're not psychopaths, everyone thinks you're trying to traffic children."

"Oh my goodness..."

Putting his arms tighter around Mega, Zak frowned. "I promise we're not, you have to believe us. They were going to kill him, we couldn't just leave him there." Pausing for a second, he tilted his head curiously to one side. "How come you're here, Doctor?"

"I'm on duty for mental health assessments. They wanted me to work out if you're telling the truth or not. And you can call me Rosa."

"Okay... Rosa. Do you need all of the paperwork again, then?"

"If you don't mind, yeah. I believe you, but I need it to register the details on our system, if you don't want to be stopped at the door. Although," she winked, "it'd be quite funny if you got arrested for alleged child trafficking."

"Hey, whose side are you on?!" Handing over their adoption documents, Darryl rolled his eyes.

"Calm down..." reading through the papers and scanning them onto her system, Rosa gave them a green document. "Sign the bottom, and you're good to go."

"Thanks, we owe you one." Scrawling his name at the bottom, Zak handed the papers to Darryl.

"I see you're still incapable of keeping hold of things yourself," she laughed, giving back their legal documents as well.

"Shut up," Zak grumbled, giving her a death stare but unable to keep from laughing. "At least it meant someone knew who to call if I suddenly died."

"Speaking of dying, I was always curious if you horny idiots followed my instructions." Rosa smirked as they spluttered and avoided eye contact. "I'll take that as a no, then... I hope you left it at least two weeks, though, right?"

"Well, um..." Turning bright red and fixating on a spot on the ground, Zak trailed off guiltily.

"Oh, God. Please tell me you didn't leave only a week in between," she sighed wearily, looking between them both.

Clearing his throat and shying away nervously, Darryl mumbled, "It was more like a day."

"You WHAT?!" Clenching her fists and stepping forwards, Rosa glared at him. "You have FIVE SECONDS to get out of my sight, before I kill you. Do you know how bloody dangerous that was?!"

"Hey, calm down!" Pulling Darryl protectively behind him, Zak turned a pleading gaze back to Rosa. "It was my fault, he didn't want to! I wanted to have some fun, that's all."

Mega giggled quietly then, and all three of them turned to stare at him. To be honest, they had forgotten he was even there. Shifting him to his other side, Zak smiled at him. "What's so funny, Megs?"

Pointing between Zak and Rosa, Mega beamed, but didn't make a sound. Frowning, Rosa held out her arms towards him. Liking her already, Mega strained forwards until Zak reluctantly handed him over.

"Hiya, Mega. You okay, sweetie?" He nodded, and she gave him a puzzled look.

"He doesn't like to talk," Zak shrugged casually. "He knows how to, and he understands us, but he doesn't want to speak for some reason. He's pretty well behaved, at least."

"Do you not want to say hello to me, sweetie?" She asked, brushing his hair out of his face. Shaking his head, Mega leaned downwards until he was put back on the floor, then sat on the chair, legs swinging back and forth.

Shrugging at Rosa, Zak slipped an arm around Darryl's waist. "We're working on it. It was great to see you, but are we okay to go? We've been keeping our friend waiting for a while."

"That's fine, you should be able to skip the rest of border control with that document. Maybe I'll see you guys again, you never know when you'll next need saving," she joked, picking up her files and heading out of the door, calling over her shoulder, "Oh, and congratulations on your marriage!"

As he watched her retreating figure, Zak felt a pair of arms sneaking around his waist. Turning with a smile, he put his arms around Darryl's neck. "Did you want something, idot?"

"I want you, you muffin," Darryl replied, pulling him in for a kiss. They held each other close, lips moving against each other as their breathing shortened.

Eventually breaking off for air, Zak smiled. "Now let's go home, idot."

Nodding and picking up their hand luggage, Darryl held one in each hand and motioned to the plastic chairs. Zak turned to the seemingly unfazed Mega, holding out his hand, and he took it. They headed through the security desks, right to the front of the airport, breathing sighs of relief when nobody stopped them.

"Hey nerds! Over here!"

Breaking into a smile, Zak strolled over to where Dave was waiting impatiently by his car. "Hiya Dave. I'm guessing Ja- Zelk told you about this one?" Gesturing to Mega, he grinned sheepishly.

"Yeah. You're both crazy, you know that?" Leaning down with a smile, Dave gave a small wave to Mega. "Hi, what's your name, then?"

Stepping shyly backwards and moving behind Zak's leg, Mega blinked a few times and peeked around the side. "Megs, it's fine," Zak soothed, "this is Dave. Dave, this is Mega. He doesn't really like to talk."

"You know I'm renowned for killing orphans, right?" Dave joked. Mega backed even further away, and the smile slipped off of his face. "I'm only joking." Crouching down, he gently held out his arms, but Mega refused to budge.

"You can trust him, Megs, I promise," Darryl murmured, "he won't bite. As much as he acts tough, he's a softie at heart."

"Hey! I'm a ruthless, merciless, violent killing machi- oof!" Falling backwards as Mega darted forwards and into his arms, Dave sighed. "Who made the floor so hard..."

"Killing machine my arse," Zak giggled, throwing their stuff in the boot and sliding into the front seat. Darryl got in the back, strapping Mega in and closing their doors.

"I guess that's my cue to drive, then," Dave grumbled, standing up and walking round to the driver's side. "I waited for over an hour, but as soon as you're here, there's a rush all of a sudden."

"Don't be grumpy," Zak teased, nicking chewing gum out of the front compartment despite Dave's glare. "You know you love us really."

Pulling out of the car park, Dave scowled. "I don't love anyone. I'm a heartless killer!"

"I'm telling Vincent you said that."

He immediately blushed, opening his mouth but no sound coming out. Clearing his throat, he tried again. "Vincent isn't included in that."

"Aww, you do have a heart," Zak laughed. "You won't admit it, but you love us too."

"Shut up, nerd."

Smirking, Zak turned to the view and watched as the familiar landmarks of their town shot by. As they turned onto their driveway, he was hit with a wave of homesickness, and he turned to give Darryl a rueful look. "I missed this place."

"Me too, muffin," Darryl replied, "the lodge was amazing, but I love it here."

"I'm going to hurl in a minute," Dave complained, pulling on the handbrake. He got out and grabbed both their cases and hand luggage, carrying them all easily in one hand.

Staring after him, Darryl opened and closed his mouth a few times in shock. "How is he so strong?!"

"It's probably a side effect of his freakish ability to murder innocents," Zak joked. He pulled open Mega's door, holding his hand out, but he didn't move. "Come on Megs, we don't have all day."

Shaking his head and pulling his knees to his chest, Mega blushed. Zak sighed, kneeling down next to the open door. "Why won't you come out?" He just shrugged at him, and he frowned. "I'm going in without you, then. You can come in whenever you want, but I'm cold and I want a drink, so I'm not staying out here with you."

Standing back up, he motioned to Darryl to follow and they walked to the front door, not looking behind as he found his keys. Suddenly they heard the sound of a car door swinging shut, and quiet footsteps crunching on the gravel front.

Tugging on the back pocket of Zak's jeans, Mega held his arms up and bit his lip anxiously. Seeing his fear, Zak lifted him up onto his hip again. "Are you nervous, Mega?"

He nodded, burying his head into Zak's shoulder, and Darryl hugged them both. Looking at Zak, he rolled his eyes. "I can't believe we thought he was five. We don't even know how to take care of ourselves, let alone a three year old."

"It'll be fine, have a little faith," Zak giggled, pecking him on the cheek as they headed into the hallway. Eyes scanning the kitchen and living room, he froze as he saw everyone sprawled on the couches. Clearing his throat awkwardly as they all turned to stare at him, he called, "Guys, I want you to... to meet our Mega."
