Brad Pov

We were walking to the burger place and we were playing Nirvana on Connor's speaker in his bookbag.

"How am I going to tell my parents I got suspended? They are already mad at me because I'm failing." I said as I looked at the group.

"You know what, how about I tutor you? I mean , I don't have anything else to do, I can get you caught up and everything." Audrey said, her face lit up with the thought of tutoring me.

"I guess so. I mean I have all D's and F's except for one class." I said while letting out a huge sigh.

"Oh trust me, I can get your grades up." Audrey said with a smirk on her face.

" Okay then. Is this the place?" I asked. I looked up at the sign and it said Sammy's Burger Joint.

"Yeah, it is." Tristan said. He pushed open the door and we all followed him. The inside smelled so good. It smelled like burgers that were fresh off the grill. You could hear the sizziling of the burgers and the popping of the fry grease. I looked over at James and he was having a panic attack.

"You okay James ?" Audrey said as she ran over to him. He looked like he was going to die.

"So. Much. Grease." He simply said before running outside.

"I got him." I said before turning and running out of the door. I found James on the side of the building blowing chunks.

"Brad, can we go somewhere else?" He said with tears in his eyes. I wasn't sure if he was really crying or if was the result of the chunks he just blew.

"Yeah , where do you want to go?" I asked as I patted his back.

"I don't know. Anywhere but here though." He said as he wiped his mouth.

"Well , wait out here so we can get our food, but what's wrong?" I asked as I furrowed my eyebrows. James just looked away.

"Brad , I'm fat. I need to get in shape. You know the other week, when we went shopping, and we went to Abercrombie and Fitch store?" He asked and I just nodded because I knew what he was talking about. "When I saw the dude on the bag, I wanted to be good looking and have a body. I wanted to look like the guy on the bag." He said as he looked down.

"So, what you are saying is that you are going on a diet." I asked looking at him. If he was I was going to support him no matter what.

"Yeah , I want to get in shape." He said looking at me.

"Well I understand , and if you want to get in shape and eat healthy, then I support you." I said as I put my hand on his shoulder.

"Hurry up and go get your food. I want to go get a smoothie and chicken salad." He said as he laughed pushing me towards the door.

"Yeah , but we are going to stop by the store for a toothbrush and toothpaste, because your breath does stink." I said as I held my nose and laughed. He just cupped his hands trying to smell his breath.

I walked back in and saw Audrey , Connor, and Tristan about to order.

"Is James eating ?" Audrey asked me.

"Yeah , but not this type of food. He is going on a health kick because he feels fat." I said.

"Ohh alright." Audrey said as she looked away.

"Welcome to Sammy's Burger Joint. What can I get you?" The man behind the counter said. He had a thick New York accent. He was very built and had a bald head with a goatee. His voice matched his appearance.

"Hi, I would like a Angus burger with extra cheese and lettuce with a side of fries. I would also like 2 Bacon double cheese burger with extra bacon and 2 sides of fries. Brad, what do you want?" Audrey asked me after she told the man the other orders.

"Uh , the same thing as you but with bacon." I said simply.

"And another burger like the first one but with bacon." Audrey finally said.

"What kind of drinks?" He asked us.

"2 Dr.Peppers and 2 Sierra Mists." She said as she pulled out her wallet.

"Oh no you don't. I got it." I said as I put Audrey's wallet back in her bookbag and took my credit card out of my wallet. The man took my credit card, swiped it , and handed it back. Just when I put my credit card back in my wallet I got a text.

James: I'm down the street at Health World. I'll be back in like 10. I'm getting my food.
Me: Okay , we will be sitting outside.

It took about 10-15 minutes for our food to get finished. The bell rung and our bags were on the counter. Tristan got up to get the bags off the counter and Connor went to help him with the drinks. We went to sit down outside and we saw James walking back from Health World. He had a orange looking drink in one hand and a bag with what looked like a salad inside in the other hand.

"Hey, Do you guys want to come to my house tomorrow morning? We can watch some movies and I can get my mom to make breakfast." Tristan said as he took a bite of his burger.

"Yeah, that sounds like fun. I'll bring all of my CD's and we can have a dance party." Audrey joked. We a nodded in agreement.

Audrey Pov

I liked hanging out with these four goofballs. They were like brothers to me already, except Brad. I felt something special about him, but I didn't want to mess up our newly found friendship up , if I said I liked him. We all made plans to go to Tristan's house tomorrow morning around 11 to have a chill day. I felt like it was going to be so fun. Brad was going to pick me up tomorrow morning to walk over to Tris' house.

"Holy shit. It's 6 already?" I said as we walked. We started walking back from the Sammy's Burger Joint like 10 minutes ago.

"Yeah , why?" Connor said as he rolled past me on his skateboard.

"My parents are going to be home any minute." I said as I ran my fingers through my hair.

"What's wrong with that?" James asked me. All I could do is look at him.

"The problem about that is, that they probably got the call that I am suspended and probably are wondering why I'm not at home." I snapped. I didn't mean to get snappy, but I was going to get the worst cussing out of my life. Just then I got a phone call from one of the two people I didn't want to hear from yet. My Mom.

"Where the hell are you?" My mom yelled through the phone. Everybody got quiet around me. Connor stop skating, Brad stopped playing music, and James just stood there and drank his smoothie.

"I'm walking home w-w-with some friends." I stuttered.

"Hurry up and come home now. We have to have a discussion." She said in a calmer voice. I loosened up.

"Okay mom." I said simply.

"I love you Audrey." My mom said sweetly.

"I love you too mommy." I said as I hung up.

"Awww , I love you too mommy." Brad said trying to mock me.

"That's not funny Bradley." I said as I crossed my arms.

"I'm sorry drey." Bradley said as he wrapped his arms around me.

"Whatever." I said as I walked away from him.

We continued to walk home. By the time we got to my house , it was 7.

"Bye guys." I said as I waved to Connor, Tristan, and James as they kept walking.

"Bye." They all said in unison. Brad stopped walking.

"Goodnight Bradley. Text me ." I said before I tried to push the gate to my house open but before I could Brad grabbed me by my waist and pulled me into a hug. He buried his face in my shoulder before mumbling something.

"What Brad?" I chuckled lightly.

"Nothing goodnight drey. I'll text you when I get home." He said as he pulled away. He gave me a gentle smile before walking off. I walked up the driveway and walked through the door. I was greeted by my mom and dad sitting on the couch watching Law and Order.
