Hank replayed the video, the two girls had dropped off  at the command center that morning.

"Mouse, I need you to find out what you can from this and confirm the phone it was sent from" he glanced over at Adam who had his nose buried in a file, he knew he needed to clue him in sooner or later.

Erin came up the steps, a file in her hand, "Hank we need to talk" she whispered she jerked her towards Ruzek, "in private"

He retreated to his office, Erin closed the door behind him "our victim, Mallory Jenkins was last scene with Trey Burgess" she sat in the chair, "her blood is on the sweatshirt found on the scene, and the sweatshirt is from a school in England, last name Burgess monogrammed on the front" she told him, "boss, this isn't looking good for Ruzek's nephew"

He ran his hand over his face, "we need to get a warrant, we need to bring him in" he stood up and went to the window, "send Adam in here please" his tone had changed, this wasn't a conversation he wanted to have.

Erin paused at the door, "you don't think this kid is behind the other murders, do you?" She had only met Trey a few times, but he seemed like a good kid.

"No, I don't" he told her, "whatever happened between Burgess and our victim, has nothing to do with the others" Hank told her.

"Oh my god" Annie said as she read the group text, "that's awful" she knew she needed to call Trey.

"What's wrong?" Kim asked her, "did you know the girl?" Adam had called and filled her in that it was a student from college that was murdered.

"Trey was seeing her" she knew he would be upset, "Kim, he's going to be devastated"

Jay and Erin drove in silence, Jay kept stealing glances at Erin, "You okay Halstead?" He asked her, it was their thing to call each other Halstead, it started during their honeymoon and hadn't ended.

She stared out the window, "this case is just hard, you know?" She told him, "this is gonna kill Kim" she looked at Jay "do you think Trey is capable of killing someone?"

He shrugged, "I don't know, people do crazy shit all the time" he parked in front of the Burgess home, "this is going to suck, that much I do know" he tapped the warrant on the steering wheel, "you ready?"

Erin gave a half hearted smile, "no, I'm not" she unbuckled the seatbelt and followed Jay to the front door.

"Erin said you wanted to see me?" Adam asked from the doorway.

"Yeah, come on in" he sat down, "close the door"

Adam groaned, it was never fun having a 'closed door meeting' with Hank Voight, "what's up?"

"We have a suspect in the Jenkins case"'he told him, he opened the file and flipped through the images they had gathered from the crime scene looking for the picture of the sweatshirt. "This was recovered at the scene our victim's blood on it" he handed it to Adam.

Adam held the picture, "okay?" unsure of why he was being told all this separately from the rest of the unit, until he looked at the picture a bit longer, "boss, what's the print say on the front?" It was hard to make it out on the picture, but he had a good idea.

"Burgess"

"Will you do all the talking?" Erin asked Jay, she had become somewhat friendly with Helen she had come out with her and Kim a few times.

"Of course, I could have brought Atwater instead you know" he replied, "he's not as easy on the eyes but I would have dealt with it" he teased her.

He rang the bell and waited for someone to answer.

"I will answer it" Charlie raced to the door, "where's Tyler?" She asked when she saw Erin, "how come he didn't come with you?"

"Hey sweetie is your mom here?" Erin asked, Charlie loved Tyler and was obviously confused as to why she and Jay stood on her doorstep.

"Yep, come in" Charlie brought them inside, "mommy, Jay and Erin are here"

Helen came out of the kitchen drying her hands off on a towel "hey you two what's up?"

"Are you okay?" Annie asked as Trey grew silent, she wished she had went to his house and not done this over the phone.

She could her him sigh, "Trey, talk to me?"

"I just..I can't believe it" he told her, the other night playing out in his mind's eye, "I don't understand, I dropped her off at the dorms and she went up to bed" he tapped his pen on the desk.

"Is Trey home?" Jay asked, he spied Charlie watching them from the living room "Helen, do you think you could have Charlie go to her room?" He asked, he knew the conversation was about to get heated and he wanted to spare her of the gory details.

Helen motioned to Charlie, "Sweetie, go play in your room while I talk with Jay and Erin, okay?"

Charlie gathered her toys and followed her mother's direction "bye Erin!"

"See you soon Charlie" Erin smiled, though after they told Helen why they came she was doubtful of that happening anytime soon.

"Why do you want Trey?" She asked her tone no longer friendly, "what's going on?"

Jay pulled the warrant from his back pocket, "Helen, is he here? Can you get him?"

"Not until you tell me what the hell is going on?" Helen told them.

"He's a suspect" Erin spoke up, "I'm sorry Helen, but we have reason to believe he was involved in a case we are investigating" she couldn't bring herself to say 'murder'

Helen went to Trey's bedroom, Jay and Erin on her heels, as she went to open the door Jay stepped in front of her and opened it.

Trey's head sound around still on the phone with Annie, "Jay what are you doing here?" He asked, "what's wrong?" He could tell by the look on their faces something was wrong, something huge.

Annie could hear the conversation, Trey obviously hadn't hung the phone up.

"Trey can you stand up please?" Jay asked as he pulled his handcuffs from his belt, Trey did as he was told.

"You're freaking me out Jay" Trey told him.

Erin turned to Helen, "you need to call an attorney for him" she whispered watching the shock fall over Helen's face.

"Trey, you're under arrest for the murder of Mallory Jenkins" Jay told him.

Annie couldn't believe what she was hearing, she quickly ran into the living room, "Kim, Jay just arrested Trey, they think he killed Mallory!"

Helen felt as if they were playing a cruel twisted joke on her, "Jay, what the hell are you talking about? Trey didn't hurt that girl, he's her boyfriend!" She cried, "Erin, you know Trey, he wouldn't hurt a fly let alone kill someone" she reached for Trey, Jay pulling him away.

Trey was shocked into silence, he couldn't believe what what happening, his mother's cries ringing in his ears, the floor spinning, he felt as if he would vomit. "Mom, it's okay" he muttered, "I didn't do it" he told her.

"Erin why are you taking my brother?" Charlie asked tearfully as she watched them lead Trey out of the house, "he's not a bad guy, Erin, he's a good guy!"

Helen quickly picked Charlie up in her arms, surprising both of them, "Trey don't say anything, I'm calling a lawyer, not a word Trey!"

Adam sat in the drive away, the conversation with Hank still playing in his mind, he couldn't believe it,he didn't want to believe it but it was impossible to deny. His 18 year old nephew may have killed his girlfriend, Hank had kept him out of the loop and he didn't even realize it.

It was too much to ignore, Trey's sweatshirt, cell phone and gym bag all found near the victim's body or within a thee mile radius of the crime scene.

"Damn it Trey!" He punched the steering wheel, and rested his head on it he wasn't sure how he was going to tell Kim, how he would tell her Trey was being arrested at this very moment.

"What?" Kim was sure she heard Annie wrong, "Annie, what did you just say?" Harper crawling at her feet, Anthony playing with his blocks.

Annie sat cross legged on the couch, her head in her hands, "I was on the phone with Trey" she tried to compose herself, "I heard Jay read Trey his rights and he said that Trey was being arrested for killing Mallory"

Kim dropped to the couch, "that's not possible, he's a good boy. Trey wouldn't kill someone, they're wrong. I need to call Adam"

Adam joined them, "I'm sorry darlin', Trey's in a lot of trouble". He sat beside her on the couch, "you need to call Helen, she needs to get him an attorney" he held her hand, Harper reaching for him, he picked her up "a good one Kim"

Kim grabbed Harper from him, "you know he didn't do it Adam, you have to!" She yelled, "tell me you don't believe them"

Adam hung his head, "I don't know Kim, the evidence isn't good" he whispered, he could see Annie out of the corner of his eye.

"Bullshit Adam, Trey didn't do this" Annie yelled, "how can you even think it?"

Adam stood from the couch, "I don't want to think it, but the evidence makes it pretty clear" he jammed his hands in his pockets, "I'm sorry"

"Tell me Adam, what do you have on my nephew that would lead you to think the worst of him?" She yelled Anthony staring up at her, his big brown eyes filled with worry.

"You know I can't Kim" he replied, he sat next to Anthony, "it's okay buddy, mommy and daddy are just talking"

Annie stood, "I'm leaving" she said through tears, "I can't believe you think he did it Adam, you make me sick" she said slamming the door on her way out.

Adam stood to go after her, "let her go, we aren't done talking yet" Kim told him, "you need to look me in the eyes and tell me you know Trey didn't hurt that girl, Adam"

Adam grabbed her hand, he wished he could do what she was asking him, had she seen the evidence she would understand his position "darlin', I'm sorry I can't do that" he whispered.

"You should get back to work Adam" she removed her hand from his, "go, I'll be fine"

"I'm sorry, Kim."

Trey sat in the interrogation room, his palms sweaty and his head screaming at him, he didn't know why they picked him up. He left Mallory on the doorstep of the dorm, they talked for a few minutes they kissed and she went inside. That was the last he saw of her, he knew nothing until Annie called him.

At least Erin Halstead had been kind to him, he wasn't sure everyone else would be as kind to him. He finished the sandwich and soda she brought for him, and just stared at the mirror he was positive they were on the other side watching him like a hawk. He wondered if his Uncle Adam was with him, how could he think that he would kill someone. He was pretty sure that Adam didn't like him all that much, and this wouldn't help.

Adam walked slowly up the stairs to intelligence, he knew both Kim and Annie were angry with him, but he couldn't ignore the evidence.

"Boss, is my nephew in custody?" Adam asked, "can I see him?"

Hank shifted his weight to the balls of his feet, "yes, he is and no you can't" he replied, he couldn't risk Adam blowing the case.

Adam pounded his fist on the desk, "please? I need to talk to him"

"Forget it Ruzek"

Annie waited for Adam's truck to pull away from the house before she went home, "Kim, Adam is wrong Trey didn't kill Mallory" she cried.

"I know Annie, help me get the kids ready, we have to go to Helen's she needs us and so does Trey"  she wrote the number she found on a piece of paper, "I don't care what Adam and the police said my nephew isn't a killer"
