Hank watched as the kid cowered beneath him, "that's funny" he laughed "you aren't such a tough guy now, huh?" He sat beside him, as close as he could get, "you know her brother will be here soon, you think I was rough, you haven't seen anything yet"

"Erin!" Adam called out when he found her speaking with a patrol officer, "my nephew, he didn't do it, Annie got the prick to admit it" he told her, he wasn't sure it would be enough to get Trey released.

"We know, Hank's already started the process of getting him released" she told him, "is Annie doing okay?"

"I haven't seen her yet, my dad and stepmother are with her still. Thank you for riding in the bus with her, I appreciate it"

"Dad, I never should have went out for a run, I'm sorry" Annie whispered, she could feel the pain medicine starting to take over, "is Adam here?"

"He's outside in the waiting room, Amy can you go get him?" Bob asked unwilling to leave his daughter's side "baby, you don't have to apologize, just promise no more late night runs, ok?"

She offered him a weak smile, "you got it" she could feel her lip tremble, "I love you daddy" she told him, when she thought she was going to die in that shed she realized how much she loved him and Adam, and that she hated how much time she lost with the both of them. She wasn't going to waste anymore time, "you won't leave, right?"

"No baby, I'm not going anywhere" he kissed her forehead.

"Kim, where's Adam, Annie is asking to see him" Amy scanned the room, "he's still here right?"

"Yea, he's talking with Erin" Kim pointed in their direction, "I will go get him"

"Is she okay?" Trey asked Antonio, he was still in shock that he was cleared of all wrong doing, "has anyone called my mother?"

Antonio glanced out his mirror as he changed lanes, "yes, Annie is okay and yes we've called your mother, she's meeting us at the hospital"

Trey ran inside, "Uncle Adam, where's Annie?"

"She's in with my dad" Adam told him, he put his hand on Trey's cheek, "are you okay?"

"Yea, I'm fine" he told him, "Aunt Kim!" He ran to her.

Kim hugged him, "Trey, are you okay?" She couldn't believe he was released so quickly, "where's your mom?"

"She's not here yet, I need to see Annie"

"Let Uncle Adam go in first honey" Kim told Trey, "are you really okay?"

Trey looked at his hands, "I was scared Aunt Kim, really scared. Uncle Adam's friend, I think his name was Billy he looked out for me" he told her, "he made sure I stayed out of gen pop too"

Kim patted his back, "I'm not surprised, your uncle takes care of his family, no matter what" she caught movement out of the corner of her eye, and pointed to the door, "your mom's here" she saw Helen and  Phil come rushing inside.

"Daniel!" Helen called his name and rushed to him, "oh, baby I'm so glad this is over"

Adam felt his stomach drop when he saw Annie in the bed, she still looked terrified her face bruised and her right leg in a splint from the knee down "hey sis" he sat at the foot of the bed, their father in the chair holding Annie's hand "how are you feeling?"

She smiled "a little ditzy"

Adam laughed, "and that's different how?" He teased, "you scared us, you know"

"I do, I'm sorry Adam"

"You don't have to apologize" he stood up, "are you up for one more visitor?"

She nodded, "yeah, I am"

Adam stepped into the hallway and whistled, to get his attention and waved him over.

"Hey Annie" Trey said from the doorway, "you doing okay?"

Annie smiled, "they let you go?"

He smiled, "yes, he confessed to everything, and it's because of you"

Helen spotted Adam talking to Erin near the nurses station, "excuse me Adam, can I talk to you?"

Adam said goodbye to Erin and followed Helen over to a corner of the waiting room, "what do you need?"

Helen tried to keep from crying but she was failing miserably, "I'm so sorry I hit you and made such a scene at the district the other day" she folded her arms, "I was a mess, and I know what you did for Daniel when he was in jail. I won't ever be able to repay you Adam, thank you" she hugged him.

"He's my nephew, I had to look out for him. He's family, I'm just glad both he and Annie are okay"

Eh, another so-so chapter, gonna give this a break for a few days and hopefully come up something.

It's getting harder and harder to keep it original and fresh.
