"I'm gonna miss you!" Clark, I think was his name, shouted. I just smiled, we weren't really close but being Ms. Popular I was quite used to being waved at.
"So tell me Sava, what are you going to do for summer?" My friend Jamie asked. "Are you really just going to stay home?"
"Yes, as much as I want to spend it elsewhere. I have no choice because my parents chose to make ONLY FOR THE TWO OF THEM and my sister wouldn't be able to cope and shit! This is the worst summer ever." I remarked.
I know I was gaining attention since practically everyone was outside of school. It was the last day of classes and all were going in their merry ways on to go to their vacation spots.
Everyone but me.
Why does it have to be me?
"Look, Savanna Harriet Davidson. You could still have fun here, even if it means babysitting your sister, right? She's twelve and you two could, I don't know, have fun together or whatnot. Don't let your parents' second honeymoon ruin everything." Jamie went on.
"Shut up and don't call me that, Janelle Marie Cuesta! You don't know how I feel so just go wherever you were planning on going to." I muttered. "I'll be fine."
Sighing, I walked a little faster to reach my car. Jamie was behind.
Unlocking it, I swiftly entered and waited. This was the last day of school and the last day I'd be seeing Jamie and I'll only be seeing her again two weeks before senior year starts.
Summer=98 days.
Usually I'd thank the Lord if summer was over 80 days but right now. I wished that two weeks before school was happening since thirteen days ago. That way, classes starts tomorrow.
I don't want to face 'home'.
"Sorry, Sava." Jamie mumbled. I nodded my reply.
Since kids were going crazy, there was quite a traffic to Jamie's home. I didn't mind though, more time not at home.
Eventually, we were soon in front of a Victorian house that was known to be the Cuesta Residence.
"I am really really going to miss you. I'm sure I'd find something to give you back from Hawaii. Does a tee sounds good?" She joked at the end.
"I already miss you. Maybe a Hawaiian man is better. Kidding maybe a jar of sand or something. I dont know. Something creative. Have fun, Jamie. Don't forget about me." I hugged her. "I love you."
"I love you too, now don't be a sap and go home." She mocked my mother's voiced, like she always do. "You have a lot to finish young lady."
Giggling, I pushed her out my car and sped off.
This day was going downhill. I just knew it.

"Savanna!" My dad all but yelled. "We're leaving and I suggest you stay with your sister in her room."
Rolling my eyes at my father. I was on my stomach lying on my bed reading. It was past five and my father just busted in my room like it was okay.
I could be naked for all he knew and he'd be fine with it.
Please that sounded terrible.
Standing up, I made my way towards my father then went downstairs.
"Bye mom, dad. Have fun in Paris. I know we've been there already as a family, but enjoy. Bring some macaroons please, my favorite and as much as I'd want to come, I can't. Besides babysitting little Sarah isn't so bad when I get paid well." I chuckled.
"I'm not little." My sister huffed, her arms crossed.
Laughing my mom hugged her and said goodbye. Again. I was pretty sure it was the millionth time and I'm damn sure Joselito our driver is secretly getting impatient.
My dad, thankfully seemed to noticed too. "Alright alright. Goodbye kiddos. See you in three weeks." He hugged and kissed our cheeks and
They're gone. Poof.
Alone at home with my sister with food and internet and my room.
I guess babysitting wouldn't be so bad.
Just look on the bright side.
I get money, have food, my sister's a big girl and she won't need me all the time, I have internet. The list goes on and on.
I was WRONG!
This is the best day of my life! I have time for myself alone in my room!
SUMMER ISN'T ALWAYS ABOUT BEACHES.
I guess some time with myself is cool too.
"Hey, Sarah?" I called, entering the living room. She was watching Spongebob.
"Yeah?" She asked. Not looking up from what she's watching.
"Did you want to have a sleep over with Margarette?" That worked her up.
She's got her full attention on me now. Nice try Spongebob, but she's not yours anymore.
"Why?" She drawled.
"I'd bring you there if you want." I said nonchalantly.
"I gotta make a call, but I know she'll be staying for summer too!" She excused herself.
Grinning, I took out my cellphone and texted Jamie.
Guess this isn't really a bad thing after all.
I jumped on the couch and changed the channel to something else.
After a few minutes Sarah came back from upstairs, but now with an addition of a backpack, a teddy bear and her phone in hand.
I didn't fail to notice that Jamie hadn't replied. Tsk.
"Let's go! Let's go! Let's go! Margarette is waiting!" Sarah pulled in my shirt. Grabbing my phone and car keys I hurriedly turned off the TV and shut the front door.
"To Margarette here we go!" I jokingly shouted with a fake salute.
Sarah was giggling endlessly as we drove while listening to music and me with a satisfied grin.
Hello, Summer.
