Heiji and Kazuha was invited to attend a wedding replacing Heiji's parents, they contact Kudou's and Mouri's to come with them for having more people. At first Shinichi can't come due to soccer match but few days before, there was announcement that the match is postponed due to the soccer field is being used for neighborhood purposes.

At Shibuya

"In the end you join us" said Conan to his brother
"Hahaha, can't be helped. I don't want to be home alone too" said Shinichi bend down to Conan size
"Hahh..."

Conan was glaring at Shinichi as if doesn't agree of him coming after what he did to him at Kaito Kid clocktower heist. Kogoro and Ran who see both brothers looks amused since Conan seems unhappy by Shinichi is coming while Shinichi is trying to calm him down

"I promise I let you talk more okay. I will be your assistant this time" said Shinichi begging Conan
"Fine... buy me that Detective Samonji limited edition book and I will take it as deal" said Conan making him buy his things
"Deal!" shout Shinichi shacking hands with his brother

"Oi oi... what are you two doing in this broad daylight" said someone in Kansai dialect
"Ahh Hattori-kun and Kazuha-chan" said Ran happily
"A... ahh" said Kazuha awkward

Conan look at both Ran and Heiji closely and he also see his brother and Kazuha which make him giggle. Shinichi looks confused but Conan said he will tell him later. After they look around Shibuya, the girls split up from the boys. At first Ran want Conan to join her and Kazuha but Shinichi already promise to buy him a book so he can't join them

Shinichi, Conan and Heiji are at the bookstore since Shinichi promise to buy Conan the book. Kogoro is at the café waiting for them since he doesn't interested in books or clothes. Heiji was looking at the other section leaving the two brothers alone

"So what do you want to tell me?" asked Shinichi to Conan who was looking at the mystery books
"Ran-neechan and Hattori's clothes are identical"
"Eh?"
"Both Ran-neechan and Hattori wear a blue stripe t-shirt. You didn't notice?"
"Hahaha I didn't pay too much attention to clothes after all. You really love notice little things huh" said Shinichi seems fine with it
"Because of someone" said Conan smirking to his brother

"Oi you two, can you guys hurry up? I'm thirsty" said Heiji
"Aahh..." said Shinichi while taking the book from Conan's hand to pay it

Heiji seems to be staring at Shinichi for a while until Conan notice his behavior and grinning. Shinichi was paying for the books while Heiji and Conan waiting outside

"Oi Hattori, you're jealous of that baka detective aren't you?"
"Hah?! What? why am I-"
"His clothes happen to be identical to Kazuha-neechan. You've been staring at it for quite a while" said Conan looking away
"Ahh... can't lie to little Kudou after all. I thought Kudou will realize but to think you're the one who notice"
"Well he didn't really care about clothes after all. He almost want to wear his Teitan High School uniform before I stop him"
"Hahaha... what will that Kudou do without you huh"

"I heard that..."

Shinichi comes out from the bookstore in slight angry look to both Heiji and his little brother who have been talking about him

"Cut me some slack, I was meeting someone last night until midnight" said Shinichi as he goes out with a bag and give it Conan since it is his books
"Oohh, who did you meet?" asked Heiji seems to be interested
"Ahh just some people, you will not know"

After that they meet Kogoro and the ladies, Conan look at Ran seems change her clothes which means Kazuha notice and talk to Ran about it.

"Ran-neechan, why you change your t-shirt?" asked Conan in low voice to Ran
"Ahh... Kazuha seems unhappy saying that my clothes are identical to Hattori-kun" said Ran bend down to Conan's size
"But... you are okay with Kazuha-neechan and that detective geek wearing the same style?"
"Eh?"

Ran look at Shinichi and Kazuha which Conan was right. Shinichi happen to wear dark orange t-shirt and white grayish jacket which identical to Kazuha's clothes. Ran just smile to Conan as if okay with it although inside her thoughts, she want to force Shinichi to change his clothes

When they arrive to the shrine, they accidentally meet the bride who happen to pray at the shrine as well. With that, they are visiting the groom, Kikuhito's house. At first it was normal dinner and talk not until moments later turns into another murder case. Shinichi, Conan and Heiji being the detectives fast act looking through the scene before the police comes

After giving all clues they get to the police, they decided to try look for the weapon or more clues. Shinichi search at the garden while Conan and Heiji stayed at the room because Shinichi want both of them work together on this case. The pair realize something when they are at the balcony which they try to experiment their deduction, suddenly Kikuhito shout at Conan who was at the balcony but the result of being surprised, Conan fell down from the balcony. Shinichi heard a voice and look to which surprised, Conan is hanging by the balcony pillar and almost fall from the third floor

"Conan!" shout Shinichi and hurriedly run

Ran and Kazuha heard Shinichi's scream and notice Conan too and they quickly run to him too. Kazuha notice Kikuhito at the window and shout to him to help Conan but it looks like he's too scared to go help Conan. Shinichi right at the bottom where Conan is

"I can't hold it much longer!" shout Conan while gritting his teeth

Shinichi fast react to take off his jacket and climb to the window on the first floor, Conan lost his strength and let go of his hand from the balcony pillar. Ran and Kazuha scream when Conan fall. Shinichi jump from the window to captured Conan with his jacket. He uses his body as a pillow for Conan which make him safe landing to the bushes

"Kudou!" shout Heiji from above
"Shinichi! Conan-kun!" shout Ran hectic worried

Conan open his eyes to see Shinichi holding his head due to falling, Conan tried to sit up and look that Shinichi is the one who save him from falling

"Shinichi-niichan!" said Conan worried

"Ouch! Ahh... you okay Conan" said Shinichi worried for his brother instead
"Um.. I'm alright... wait your head!" shout Conan seeing Shinichi is bleeding from his head

Shinichi's blood didn't stop coming out from his head so Conan push him to lie down. Conan luckily have a hand towel on his pocket which he quickly rip it to make a first aid bandage for Shinichi's head

"Oi Conan it's okay I-"
"Just shut up and lie down!" said Conan angry
"O..ohh.."

Conan look serious while giving Shinichi a first aid immediately. Conan look around and spot Ran and Kazuha who's looking at the scene nervously

"Ran-neechan! Call the doctor who examined the body earlier!" shout Conan
"Ah um..."

Ran goes to the doctor while Kazuha stay help Conan giving a light. Heiji who just arrived at the spot help Conan with the first aid. Some of the police also help with lightning since Conan forbidden anyone beside Heiji helping him

"Kudou, you really are crazy huh" said Heiji while looking at his high school rival and best friend
"Shut up, if Kazuha-chan in Conan place, I'm sure you will do the same" said Shinichi with mocking voice
"Well..."

Moments later, the doctor comes and take over the first aid that Conan did to Shinichi. At first Conan doesn't want to stop but Heiji manage to force him out of the way so the doctor can treat Shinichi's wounds properly. Heiji, Ran and Kazuha notice Conan sudden change which confused three of them. Conan's eyes never stop leaving from Shinichi as if anger and guilty at the same time

"Oi Kudou... what's wrong with you?" asked Heiji in low voice while bending down
"Ah no... nothing" said Conan while run inside the house

Heiji look at Shinichi who was looking at Conan in guilty look

"Oi neechan... you know everything about them?" asked Heiji to Ran
"Well not all but..."
"Then can you tell me why K-Conan-kun looks very pissed when he see Kudou got hurt like that"

"That... hmmmm I think there's something but I forgot" said Ran while thinking
"Hmmm? What is relationship between Shinichi and Conan? I thought they were just distant cousins?" asked Kazuha confused
"Ah! Yeah yeah they're just distant cousins!" said Heiji trying to hide the fact that Shinichi and Conan are brothers
"It's just that Conan-kun have been living with Shinichi for long time after all" said Ran helping Heiji
"Ahh I see..."

Conan was looking at the tree that Heiji was pointing earlier at the balcony where the body is found. He found the weapon at the tree but his eyes are too focused on Shinichi under him who just given a bandage from the doctors.

"Why he always get hurt with me around" thought Conan tighten his fist

Shinichi on the other hand who just got bandage goes to Heiji, Ran and Kazuha who was talking

"You okay Shinichi?" asked Ran worried
"Ahhh just a scratch due to landing near the sharp rock over there" said Shinichi while pointing the rocks
"Oi Kudou may I ask you something" said Heiji serious
"Hm?"
"Did something like this ever happen to you and K-Conan?"

Shinichi look surprised and he also remember what happen which now he realize why Conan act like that.

"Wait, where's Conan?!" shout Shinichi looking around
"He goes inside I think-"

Shinichi run inside in hurry which surprised the three high schoolers. Ran who was thinking the whole time suddenly shout

"There he goes without explaining ish..." said Heiji is pissed by Shinichi sudden escape
"I remember!" shout Ran loudly

Inside the house

Shinichi look around and saw Conan was at the murder scene. He walk closer which notice by Conan, he can sense Conan's anger and guilty on his face

"Conan... are you okay?" said Shinichi while holding his shoulders
"I am okay! Unlike you who got hurt... like..."

Shinichi only give a calm smile and touch Conan's head with his right hand which gets Conan's attention

"You remember what happen at Tropical Land huh?"
"I can't helped... it's my worst memory I have in Japan..."
"I know it became a trauma... But then again, you also develop another trauma right?"

Conan just stay silent and doesn't want to talk

Back to Heiji, Ran and Kazuha

"I remember now, Shinichi once got hurt for protecting Conan-kun"
"When?" asked Heiji surprised
"I think around year ago... Three of us with Shinichi's parents and my dad are going to Tropical Land since Shinichi's mother got a free tickets. It was a fun day until Shinichi and Conan got into a big fight"

Flashback

"BAKA DETECTIVE GEEK! I HATE YOU!" shout Conan in anger
"AHH THE SAME AS YOU BAKA GLASSES BRAT!" shout Shinichi

"Shinichi! Conan-kun! Stop it already, everyone is looking!" said Ran tried to calm down the two brothers
"Oi oi, Yukiko... teach your kids some manners" said Kogoro bluntly
"Well to be honest, this is the first time I see them fighting" said Yukiko who's looking both of his sons
"This is bad Yukiko..." said Yusaku step up to both of them

Before Yusaku help Ran, Conan run away from them to somewhere while Shinichi just turned away angrily. Yusaku run to follow Conan while the others stay with Shinichi, Ran was angry of course but Shinichi doesn't care at all

The day become longer and it's become night, Yusaku comes back without Conan

"Yuu-chan? Where's Conan-chan?!" asked Yukiko worried
"That's the problem, after we play at the rollercoaster. He's gone from my sight" said Yusaku worried

Shinichi grit his teeth and run to find his brother, Yusaku look at his running oldest son and ask the rest of them to split up to find Conan too. Shinichi got near the rollercoaster and see Inspector Megure inside. He can deduct that his dad and Conan got into a case which already solved

"Ah Kudou-kun! I know it you are here" said Inspector Megure
"Keibu, have you seen Conan?" said Shinichi while looking around
"Eh no, I thought he's with your father"
"That's the problem, he's missing"

Inspector Megure then ask some of his team to help Shinichi look for Conan, Shinichi also run to find him until he have a feeling something behind the Ferris wheel so he run toward it. When he arrive, he sees from afar that Conan is stalking something, he also realize that one of the men want to hit Conan with a pipe

"Oi look out!" shout Shinichi while running

Shinichi kick a can which hit the person, he realize it and start shooting at Shinichi as a result he got scratched on his head by the bullet. Inspector Megure arrive with his team and shock seeing it, Conan now is being held by one of the person. Shinichi panting with loss of blood coming toward his face, Conan was in horror seeing his brother

"Shinichi-niichan!" shout Conan worried
"Shut up! You shouldn't have followed us if you want to live" said the one who held Conan with a gun on his head
"Don't do anything to him!" shout Shinichi angrily

Shinichi take one of the officers gun which surprised Megure and all the police. He point to where Conan is held

"Oi Kudou-kun!" shout Inspector Megure to the high schooler
"Megure-keibu, I will take full responsibility later but Conan's safety is my top priority" said Shinichi serious

Shinichi smile looking at his brother who seems to be trembling and scared. Shinichi give him a sign to him which Conan was surprised seeing his big brother is pointing a gun to him

"Everything will be fine... just trust me. Remember that time in Hawaii with our old man" said Shinichi serious while pointing the gun to him

Conan eyes shot up as if knows what he means, Shinichi shoot but he intentionally missed Conan to make the man who held him think that he just shoot Conan. Conan close his eyes and relaxes his body like he lost consciousness right at the time Shinichi shoot which surprised the one who held him

"Oi what's wrong!?" shout the man

Shinichi start shooting to the man's shoulder to let go of Conan, Conan jump and then shoot the other man with his stun watch. Shinichi relief and Conan run to his side until suddenly Shinichi look that the one who held Conan earlier is aiming his gun to the little boy. Shinichi rush to Conan and protect him and as the result he was shot on the back few times until the police shot him to stop his actions.

"Shinichi-niichan!" shout Conan but then he look at his hands full of Shinichi's blood and start to panic

Inspector Megure command his team to take the two man and look closer to Shinichi which he got a lot of bullets on his back. He quickly call the ambulance to get Shinichi to the hospital quickly

"Conan...I'm sorry for making you angry earlier today" said Shinichi in apologetic and pain voice
"I will forgive you if you stay awake! Please don't talk more" said Conan while pressing Shinichi's wounds

Inspector Megure look at Conan which for the first time, he cried like a boy of his age with pool of Shinichi's blood under him and on his hands

Back to present

Heiji and Kazuha was speechless hearing Ran's story. Heiji of course now understand why Conan became very sensitive when Shinichi got hurt on his head like that. He always forgot the fact that Conan is still 7 years old although he's too smart for his age but his mental is still a grade schooler who can take a hideous memory to a trauma

"Shinichi was hospitalized for a month since he have surgery for taking out the bullets from his body. Conan also take a full month out from school because he doesn't want to be separated from Shinichi until he's out from the hospital" said Ran explaining to both Kansai friends

Conan already too smart in elementary school after all so he will be fine, well entirely because Conan was begging his parents to let him stay at the hospital until Shinichi's okay since he feel very responsible about it. Not to mention, both parents have to go back to America for work so he let Conan do it but as an exchange, he have to self-study for the whole month and still got homework from school

"That explains why Conan-kun looks very angry... Kudou-kun's injury just now reminded him from that time" said Kazuha
"Not to mention the fact just now Kudou was injured to save K-Conan-kun" said Heiji while looking at the window where the brothers are

At the crime scene

Shinichi look at Conan seriously while Conan throw his face away from Shinichi

"You don't want to talk about it?" asked Shinichi
"Why bother, you figure it out right... my other trauma"
"I will not get hurt like that again... I promise you" said Shinichi putting his forehead on Conan's forehead
"But..."
"This is just a scratched, different from that time. I will help you cure your trauma okay"

Conan look at his brother calm smile which he can't help to also smile. Shinichi let go and pat his head and putting back his glasses that he doesn't realize that he didn't wear it the whole time

"You forgot your glasses baka brother" said Shinichi mocking
"Shut up baka detective" said Conan blushing

Shinichi smile and then lift Conan up to his head and let him sit on his shoulders. Conan was surprised by the sudden piggyback but he just let it be since it make him taller and can see things better

"So what do you think about this case?" asked Shinichi serious while looking at the blood trail
"Well Hattori and I-"

The two brothers start investigate together which leave Heiji in angry situation since two of them didn't explain leading the case. Conan giggle and tell him everything he know which make him unpleased since they investigate without him. Ran and Kazuha were confused at something which notice by Shinichi

"What's wrong?" asked Shinichi to the ladies
"Well uh... may I ask why Conan-kun is sitting on you like that?" asked Kazuha while pointing Conan who still sitting on Shinichi's shoulder
"I presume Ran already told you about our past right?" asked Shinichi to the Kansai couple
"Y-yeah... Tropical Land right?" said Heiji

Conan can't help to squeeze his pants hearing that amusement park name which make Heiji step back a little seeing the boy's face

"Oi please don't tell the name loudly. Are you really a detective?" asked Shinichi mocking at him
"Of course I am! I am the High School Detective of the West, Hattori Heiji!"

"Ahou... then hold your mouth for a second will you" said Kazuha to Heiji while smacking his head

After Heiji, Shinichi and Conan talk together about the case and Kazuha remarks about the pendant which concluded the case easily. Well all credits goes to Heiji but he solved it with Conan, Shinichi as a promise keeper just stay silent in the entire deduction show. With the case is over, they all head back to Beika. On their way
