Soon, Fred walked along with a magnet in his hand ahead of the gang as they went along to search the school building. However, it was much larger than they anticipated, so it'll take some ground to cover.
"Jeepers. This building is so big!" Daphne gasped. "This Phantom Virus could be anywhere."
"Sounds like a good time to split up and search for clues." Braedey suggested.
"I was just thinking the same thing." Fred agreed.
"Scorcher and I will search one part of the building." Braedey spoke up first.
"I'll go with Shaggy and Scooby." Willow said. With that, Shaggy and Scooby go in another direction with Willow.
"Hey, you guys. I didn't say how we were gonna split up." Fred stopped them.
Shaggy looked back. "Like, do we do it any other way?" He asked.
Fred shrugged as he went off with the girls. Fred and the girls decide to go down to the basement, while Braedey and Scorcher go off towards one of the other rooms.

"Why do we have to start in the basement?" Daphne complained, seeing the darkness and the dirty basement they were in. It was also late in the evening, so it was just as dark, if not darker, than normal.
"We have to search the whole building, top to bottom." Velma reminded to her, and followed Fred to take a look.
Fred looked around the old-time technology. "This stuff looks like it belongs in the Smithsonian." He commented when he pulled back a tarp.
"Why do they bother keeping this old junk?" Daphne nearly scoffed.
"I don't know some of this old junk might be very valuable." Velma said as she picked up a book and blew off some dust from it, unknowing the dust would end up in the face of the Phantom Virus.
The virus seemed to sneeze suddenly. "Gesundheit." Velma said without looking back, but what Velma said, got her attention. "Jinkies, it's him!"
The virus took out one finger, now showing electrical sparks and laughed wickedly at the three gang members.
"Watch out!" Fred cried.
Fred picked up the magnet that Velma put down on the floor and he used it against the virus, looking stoic as always. The magnet now began to take its effects on him as the Phantom Virus began to look like he was fizzing out and getting weaker and weaker.
Fred, Velma, and Daphne then pulled out the magnets they had, and began to use them against the Phantom Virus, which got weaker because of the power emanating from the magnet.
"Get back, you creepy... Thingy!" Daphne threatened. Fred gave an amused smirk, and Daphne looked rather embarrassed by what she just said.
"You'll pay for this!" The Phantom Virus hissed.
"We don't think so!" Daphne exclaimed.
"Thingy." Fred added with a teasing smile to his crush.
Daphne glared at him while Velma chuckled. The Phantom Virus then began to limp away, after feeling so weak from the magnets.
"After him!" Fred commanded, making everyone follow him.

Meanwhile in the cafeteria, Shaggy, Scooby, and Willow decided to get some dinner, while the other students glanced at them with their monstrous eating habits. Mostly at Shaggy and Scooby, whilst Willow didn't seem like they were going to over do it with the food.
Shaggy saw a couple of students getting out of the cafeteria as he got a hot dog and put whipped cream on top of it. "I wonder why they left."
"Ri ron't row." Scooby shrugged his shoulders with his mouth full.
"I can think of a few things why." Willow whispered. "It is amazing of how much food you two can eat." She then said.
"Reah!" Scooby agreed as he shook up the can of whipped cream to squirt some in his mouth, but he had blown it the wrong way, making it sploosh onto his face and it made Shaggy look like he's Santa. "Ranta Raus!" Scooby giggled before licking his human best friend's face.
"He really does look like Father Christmas!" Willow added with a smile.
Shaggy just sat there as Scooby licked him, at least they could eat lunch without any disturbance.

Braedey and Scorcher, meanwhile, they were looking through some of the rooms, but so far, they have not found anything. It seems like they were looking for an electric needle in a concrete haystack.
"So far, nothing." Braedey mumbled. "And I thought looking for ghosts was easy."
"It's funny you say that." Scorcher chuckled, Braedey turning to him. "I mean, kids around your age would be more into pop music, dolls, toys, cars, or even sports. You, on the other hand, you're into the supernatural and mysteries. I'm not saying it's a bad thing." He added.
"Oh, really?" Braedey leaned against a door, only for it to open and he fell back into a room. "Ouch."
"You alright there?" A male voice asked.
Scorcher and Braedey now looked to see a man walked in the room. He has tanned skin, long black hair that reached down to his shoulders, and green eyes, a scar over his left eye. He has on a black suit with a red shirt underneath.
"Professor Kraken Silverback?" Scorcher spoke out in surprise.
"Scorcher... My, look at you." The man shook hands with Scorcher as Braedey got to his feet. "It's been some time since we last met."
"Scorcher? Do you know this man?" Braedey asked.
"Oh, right. Braedey, this is Professor Silverback." Scorcher introduced. "He was my old teacher back in college."
"So, you're part of this Mystery Inc. group that's on campus." Kraken said to Braedey. "Well, just to warn you, Officer Wembly doesn't take too kindly to any trouble."
"We know. We met him already." Braedey replied.
"So, what have you been up to, sir?" Scorcher asked.
"Oh, been helping students study that of earth and its many natural formations." Kraken then checked his watch. "Oh, I have to go." He picked up his briefcase and turned to the two. "Best be careful." With that, he left the room.
"Boy, he seems to be in a hurry." Braedey said with some suspicion.
"Oh, don't think like that." Scorcher dismissed the thought. "Kraken might look it, but he's not sinister at all. He's actually got a sense of humour when you've been around him for as long as I have."
"I'll take your word for it." Braedey shrugged. "Let's keep looking."
"Yeah. That Phantom Virus isn't gonna show itself." Scorcher agreed, and both he and Braedey continue looking around. "By the way, have you been practicing your new magic?" He asked to Braedey.
"Sure. I've gotten better after learning more about my ancestor." Braedey shrugged innocently.

Meanwhile, Fred, Velma, as Daphne were looking around for the Phantom Virus. They have been chasing it down some dark hallways, but there were so many of them, they eventually lost track of it.
"I think we lost it." Fred said as he looked around with them, but he made them stop when he looked ahead and saw a flashlight. "Wait. Look."
"What do we do?" Daphne asked.
"Get as close as we can and use those magnets." Velma suggested.
"Right." Fred agreed.
All three of them then got to a corner to wait for the right moment to attack.
"Ready..." Fred said to the girls before they went off. "One... Two... Three!" The three of them charge forward around the corner to use their magnets.
The light was revealed to be a flashlight and Officer Wembly flicked on the light switch, glaring at them. "I thought I heard some noise down here... What're you kids doing? The basement's for staff only."
"We're hunting for the Phantom Virus." Velma explained.
"Yeah, I heard about that so-called virus." The guard folded his arms. "I think it's some kind of college prank."
"Oh, no, no, Officer, you... We were just..." Fred tried to explain as best as he could.
"You kids are coming with me." Officer Wembly firmly told them. "Back to Kaufman's lab."
Fred, Velma, and Daphne glanced to each other in silence before they were taken away.

Back in the Cafeteria, Shaggy and Scooby had finished up most of the food in the cafeteria, with Willow just looking at them with bewilderment on her face.
"Can you believe that cafeteria ran out of food?" Shaggy asked with a full belly with Scooby. "And we're still hungry!"
"Reah, rungry!" Scooby added.
"I'm surprised that you both aren't full yet." Willow said. "I think you ate absolutely everything in the cafeteria."
Suddenly, a blue spark came up, showing the Phantom Virus on his shoulder. "Hello..." The virus greeted, looking pure evil. Scooby saw it and tried to get Shaggy's attention.
"The Phantom Virus!!" Willow cried out.
Scooby and Shaggy instantly began to run for their lives, as Willow followed behind then. The Phantom Virus laughed and it ran after them.
"What do we do guys?" Willow asked to Scooby and Shaggy.
"Like, what we do best: run and hide!" Shaggy cried in fear.
"Or better than that. I have an idea." Willow said.
All three of them now ran into a room with a bookshelf and with a lie detector machine that can shock someone if they didn't answer fast or told the truth.
"Rou rure rabout rhis?" Scooby was a little nervous.
"Maybe, so let's go into disguise and have some fun." Willow said, and she, Shaggy, and Scooby then got into disguise.
The Phantom Virus then entered the experimentation room. Shaggy was dressed as a doctor while Scooby and Willow would be nurses.
"Thank you for volunteering for our experiment, Mr. Phantom." Shaggy said to the computer game character. "Nurses, take the patients over to the tables."
Scooby and Willow did as they were told and they hooked up electrical wiring against the Phantom Virus: he seemed to be fooled, although, for now.
"Just relax." Willow said.
"Now, can you tell us how many layers are in an ideal club sandwich?" Shaggy asked.
"Uhh..." The virus tried to come up with an answer.
"Time's up!" Shaggy called. "The correct answer is: Never enough!"
Scooby then sets to shocking the virus painfully. Bolts of lightning raced across the phantom, making it yell out in pain.
"Let's try one more, shall we?" Willow asked.
Shaggy nodded in agreement. "When is the right time to enjoy a milkshake with your french fries?" The Phantom Virus was stumped again. "Time's up!" Shaggy then called. "The correct answer is: anytime!"
The computer game character was shocked again, but this time, it grabbed the wires and broke the machine so it could continue the chase.
Shaggy, Scooby, and Willow then ran as quickly as they could and ended up in the Biology Lab. There were many animals inside locked in cages, even monkeys.
"Now, now, these animals shouldn't be locked up." Willow said with a smirk as she had an idea of what will happen after releasing the animals.
The Phantom Virus got to the lab doors, but once it opened them, all of the animals rushed out and trampled it. The virus got up from the stampede, but then were walked over by their targets, knocking it down again.
After Scooby, Shaggy, and Willow got out of there, they ran straight to the Chemistry Lab and made a concoction that would blow up in their enemies's faces.
"They should be in here any minute." Willow said.
The Phantom Virus walked in, very angered by what had happened. Shaggy tossed the beaker with the fizzing blue liquid over to the Virus, and got away with the others by the time the chemical exploded all over the Phantom Virus. The Virus then chased the quad group into the metal shop part of the school only to be grabbed and thrown off by a metallic monstrosity.
Scooby, Shaggy, and Willow then escaped into the library after the Phantom Virus was thrown about, but still wasn't totally damaged. Once they were all in the library, the good guys made the virus fall into a giant pile of books, making a very loud crash noise, making them mock shush them before escaping out of the library, the Phantom Virus still hot on their heels.
