"Rukia, welcome-!" A wooden spoon came down over his head, silencing the over flamboyant shop owner.
"Calm down fool..."
"Thanks, Melony," the Soul Reaper grinned. "I'm here to pick up my order."
"Jinta!"
"What?" the kid shouted back.
"Get Rukia's order!"
"Get it yourself!"
The woman's brow twitched. "Excuse me?" The tension in the room grew, the three hearing the boy scrambling towards the back room.
"H-Here you are," Jinta said.
"Thank you." The woman took the wrapped package handing it over as he disappeared into the back. "We're positive this is the right order this time. Tessai even marked the package."
Rukia left moments later, Kisuke sitting up and situating himself. "With the way you run this business so smoothly I may go into retirement," the man grinned.
Melony rolled her eyes. "And become more of a lazy ass? Hell no."
The front door opened again as a young woman walked inside, perking Kisuke's interests. "Why hello there-!"
Her foot kicked out, forcing him through the air. "Pervert!" Melony growled.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sighing heavily, the woman shifted the bag in hand. It was extremely heavy being full of groceries. "Why couldn't Tessai do this? Besides I'm a girl walking around at night."
The ground shook, causing her to stop and glance farther up the street. A Hollow stood in the shadows, slowly emerging under a streetlight. "Shit," she grumbled. It hissed, eyes narrowing on its prey. "I'm going to kill Urahara..."
The Hollow roared, rushing forward without hesitation. Melony ducked, the claw passing overhead before running past and down the street. Turning a corner abruptly she nearly lost the contents inside, cursing to herself. An arm suddenly wrapped around Melony's waist, pulling her around out of the way. A shriek pierced the night as the Hollow completely disappeared.
"Well that was eventful," Kisuke said. Sheathing his sword the man grinned down at her.
"Feh, then why don't you make late night runs instead? In case you've forgotten, Urahara, I'm a human. Unlike Ururu and Jinta, I'm not gifted with unnatural abilities."
"No, but can still defend yourself."
"Not very well with this thing in my arms."
"You could've just drop it."
"And be forced to go back out, spend more money, and try walking home again in the dark? No thank you."
Kisuke chuckled, shaking his head. "You're something else. Shall we head home?"
"Is it safe?"
"Even you should know that there are no Hollows are in the area. You can detect them easier than trained Soul Reapers."
"Whatever," she mumbled. Pulling herself from his grasp, the woman made her way down the street. Situating his hat, the shop owner followed after.
Melony stumbled when she felt something warm press against her cheek, glancing over to find a grinning Urahara. "Well now, I'd say that's fair payment for saving you."
Brow twitching the woman kicked Kisuke in the side sending him flying into a mailbox. "Pervert!"
He could only chuckle at the blush on her face. "Maybe, but it was worth it."
