"Ow that fucking hurts!" Ikkaku yelled, scaring the Fourth Division member tending to his wounds.
"If you weren't acting stupid out in the field and try to take down our target by yourself this wouldn't have happened," Yumichika pointed out. The Third Seat growled in annoyance, glaring at the ceiling. His friend sighed, shaking his head. "I'm going to make a report to Captain Zaraki. What do you want me to tell your wife when she comes in later today?"
Ikkaku tensed at the thought of her finding out he had gotten hurt again before groaning in defeat. "Tell her the truth. Otherwise she'll find out from the Captain and I'll be put back in the hospital."
Yumichika chuckled at the thought of the man getting beat up by the normally shy woman. "I will relay the message."

It was dark out when Ikkaku finally fell asleep, the healer having finished patching him up hours ago. The man was left to himself for the rest of the day bored out of his mind. He was just glad his Lieutenant didn't pay him a visit, not in the mood for her hyper behavior.
"You weren't back at the barracks when I came home."
The Third Seat's eyes snapped open, looking over at the window to find it ajar, and a figure sitting on the frame. The silhouette was enough of a give away who it was. "When did you get back, Leanette?"
The Fourth Seat swung fully inside the room, approaching the side of the bed. "Around dinner, but the Captain needed a report and the Lieutenant was dragging me around left and right in search of Yumichika saying he had something to tell me. It took us three hours to locate him since her sense of direction is horrible."
The two laughed quietly, not wanting anyone to know that he had a visitor after hours. As the moonlight streamed in through the window, Ikkaku could just make out her features, golden eyes in bright contrast with the surrounding darkness. Though what also stood out was the white bandage placed on her left cheek and wrapping up the opposite arm. "What happened?"
"The Hollow had a long tongue and managed to catch my wrist in it. Of course it was poisoned. So how bad are you?" Her eyes scanned over his body, searching for any serious damage.
"Cracked arm bone, broken finger, and a stitched up gash on my stomach. I'll live."
"Good. Though seeing you have to stay in the hospital makes me worry. You only come in unless forced."
"That was Yumichika's fault," he stated, reaching out to clasp the woman's wrist and pull her closer. "I promise I'm fine, Leanette."
The Fourth Seat sighed, climbing into the bed and cuddling against his side. "How long do you have to stay here?"
"I'll be leaving tomorrow."
"Good..."
The man smirked, wrapping the good arm around his wife. "Don't like it when I'm gone?"
"Hell no."

When Ikkaku woke up the next morning, he found Leanette had already left through the window so they weren't caught. The Soul Reaper couldn't wait to leave around noon, walking towards his Division and through the gates. "Baldy!" Yachiru's loud voice called out, causing the Third Seat to tense up instantly.
"Hell no..." he muttered. The child was hurling towards him, but there would be no way to dodge with his condition. This was going to hurt.
The pink haired wonder was plucked out of the air, disappearing from his sight. "Yachiru, what did I tell you about roughing up Ikkaku for the next week or so?" Leanette questioned, holding the Lieutenant by the back of the uniform.
"Sorry, Pumpkin," the child grinned up at the redhead woman.
She released her captive, allowing the girl to rush off to find the Captain. Shaking her head Leanette felt an arm wrap around her waist. "Thanks for the save," Ikkaku muttered, kissing the woman's neck. Her cheeks heated in embarrassment, stumbling over her words in reply. The Third Seat smirked, loving that he had that affect on her.
The man remembered the first time Leanette was introduced to the Division, fresh out of the Academy. She was so shy her eyes wouldn't meet anyone and stuttered over nearly every word. Most of the men figured she'd be easy to push around, but were quickly proven wrong when five of them ended up in the hospital. The Captain laughed so hard at seeing the aftermath and promoted the Soul Reaper to Fourth Seat, liking her spunk. Leanette began hanging around the Third and Fifth Seat more often and they came to realize she could curse like a man one minute and then be the overly shy, blushing girl the next. It was very amusing, and Ikkaku always loved that feature about her.
"Something on your mind?" Leanette questioned, snapping the man out of his thoughts.
"No. Just thinking about how much fun it is to tease you."
The woman nudged his uninjured side playfully. "Behave, you're still injured."
He smirked. "There are other ways..." Her mouth popped open in shock, unable to speak. Ikkaku threw his head back in laughter. "Even though we've been married for five years you still get embarrassed."
Leanette huffed. "Maybe I'll stay with my sister and tell my brother you're being mean to me."
The Third Seat paled. She was referring to Rangiku and Kenpachi, and though they were not related by blood, they acted like family. Both of them would have his ass. "Alright, alright, you win," he grumbled, causing the woman to smile in victory.
"Come on, I'll cook you some dinner."
"As long as you help me take a shower later."
The Fourth Seat laughed, taking his hand while a blush spread over her cheeks. "We'll see."
