"You can't make me," Lexi growled, glaring up at the Lord of Las Noches.

"Actually, my dear, I can," Aizen stated with a smug grin. "I created you."

"Bullshit you did! I had a Soul once-!"

"Once, my dear, before you were killed by an Espada."

"No thanks to you!"

"Enough." The girl gritted her teeth, wanting nothing more than to cut off his head. "You will help us crush the Soul Reapers in the World of the Living when the time comes."

"Like hell I will-!"

In less than a second the young woman found herself face down on the floor, her own hand roughly pinned against her spine, a blade pressing against her neck in warning. "Yes, you will," Aizen stated. "Otherwise I'll give you to Szayel and allow him to... experiment on you." Lexi shivered, at the thought of being at the crazy man's mercy. The Soul Reaper knew he had won, grinning. "Good. You may leave."

Lexi snarled, shoving away the act of 'kindness' Gin Ichimaru showed by offering a hand after pinning her like an animal, and stood before quickly leaving. She was really in the mood to kill something right now and went off looking for the only Espada who she could actually understand and tolerate. The girl came up on the hallway, noticing something quite odd. The person she was looking for was surrounded by all of his Fracción and seemed to be in a deep conversation.

Suddenly, a garganta opened and the Arrancars entered. "Grimmjow?" The Espada turned on edge at being caught, yet relaxed when he realized who it was.

"Lexi, what are you doing here?"

"I was looking for a fight, but you seem busy."

"A little."

There was a moment of silence that passed between then as the girl put two-and-two together. "Are you going against orders?"

"Yes."

"Where are you going?"

The man sighed, running a frustrated hand through his hair. "Look, you're in enough deep shit which is why you're here in the first place and Aizen has all of his eyes on you. You can't be doing anything stupid or you will pay the price."

Lexi's temper flared for a moment before calming down. He was only trying to protect her, but living in Las Noches wasn't ideal and wanted to get out as fast as possible. "I can't handle it anymore, Grimmjow. Please..."

The Sixth Espada stepped forward before gently kissing her forehead. "You know I can't put you in the danger I'm going into now. Aizen will hand you over to Szayel and I won't be able to help you anymore if you're caught."

The girl sighed in annoyance, looking away. "Just don't do anything stupid," she grumbled.

He laughed, ruffling her hair before disappearing into the black hole. Once gone, Lexi turned to stare at the garganta in conflict. There were only two options here: A) return to her room and hope that Aizen wouldn't bother her for some time, or B) sneak into the World of the Living without anyone knowing.

The edges began to bend and warp before closing in on itself. The girl lunged, choosing the later option.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

It had been a while for Lexi since visiting the World of the Living, but Karakura didn't seem to have changed in the least. There was spiritual pressure everywhere, along with some explosions and the sound of clashing metal coming from battles that were unseen to the human eye. Yup, nothing had changed.

It seemed like Grimmjow was having a fun time with his opponent, pressure raging in full swing. Though it appeared his Fracción were slowly becoming over powered as time went on. Not wanting to be detected, the girl lowered her pressure before moving about the town. Di Roy and Edrad had met their match, both of their existences disappearing all together. She had briefly caught sight of Nakeem and Shawlong's battle, startled to see who they were up against.

Is he here?

Yylfordt was near Urahara's Shop, a place she used to spend her time around when in the World of the Living on missions. Lexi paused, breathing in deeply to try and determine how the battle was fairing. It seemed to be in a concentrated area, not out of control like Edrad's had been. Yylfordt shot up into the air, drawing her attention and feeling a swell in a pressure that was very familiar to her.

Where is he?

"Hihio! Zabimaru!" The snake roared loudly, rearing its head and shooting into the air after its opponent. Lexi was in awe at its size and power, having not seen this attack in quite sometime. Though even with his Bankai activated the Lieutenant was still struggling against the Arrancar, especially in his Ressurección state. "Are you done already, Soul Reaper!" the Fracción taunted, earning a glare from the redhead.

Lexi's hands clenched tightly, forming into fists, not knowing what to do. She couldn't be seen, not in this horrible state, but wanted to protect the others. Yylfordt reared his head before barreling down on the Soul Reaper, ready to run him through.

"No!" the girl yelled, using sonido to step in the way and receive the attack. Everything stopped.

"What the hell are you doing?" the Arrancar finally yelled up at the young woman who was dangling from his horn. "Are you crazy? You shouldn't be here!"

"I couldn't... help it..."

"It's another Arrancar!" Jinta exclaimed, catching the Lieutenant's attention. At the same time he received word over his earpiece that the limiters had been released, gathering all his strength to pour it into a final attack. The Arrancars quickly looked over, watching the red blast coming at them head on. Lexi thought quickly, taking the bone between her hands and snapping it with ease. As Yylfordt ran away, she dropped towards the ground before painfully landing on a rooftop. He was consumed by the power and obliterated.

Lexi breathed harshly, trying to gather as much spiritual pressure as she could to close the gaping hole in her collarbone. The girl knew she had to run.

"Stop!" the Soul Reaper ordered, seeing the enemy rush off.

The young woman didn't, stumbling in her attempt to escape. Though there was no way she was about to return to Hueco Mundo. She'd rather Kenpachi Zaraki rip her to shreds before that happened. "I said, stop!"

Lexi's eyes widened, having not realized how close the man was. He came in on the right, swinging around his zanpakuto in its Shikai state aiming at her head. Without hesitating, the female ducked, the blade slicing off some pieces of hair and causing the girl to harshly roll across the rooftop to a stop. She breathed raggedly, trying to push away the pain and sit up, but the zanpakuto was already in place, the sharp edge dangerously close to her neck.

"Are you with them?"

"Don't look at me," she whispered, trying to hide behind the curtain of dark brown hair.

"Answer the question."

"I don't want to be."

"State your name, Arrancar."

"I'm not an Arrancar!" she snapped, on the verge of tears. "I'm a Reaper! I'm a Soul Reaper, damn it!"

The man was startled by this reaction, but did not let up his guard. "Let me see your face."

"No..."

There was only one way around it, the Lieutenant raising the blade to press against the skin and forcing the girl to look up. He started shaking, hands unable to hold the zanpakuto any longer as it dropped to the ground loudly. Tears were streaming down Lexi's cheeks, wishing this was all a dream, that it was a nightmare to see him again like this.

"Renji..." the young woman sobbed, hands coming up to try and hide the tears. "I'm so sorry... Renji..."

"What have they done to you?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone in the Soul Society was shocked upon Lexi's arrival, the Soul Reapers in an uproar that the World of the Living group had brought the enemy to them. Yamamoto was the one to calm them down, ordering a private meeting with the young woman in her cell.

"You were transformed," the Head Captain mused, sitting in a chair on the opposite side of the bars.

Lexi nodded from where she sat. "It was the Fourth Espada, Ulquiorra Schiffer, who was sent by Aizen to kill me. As my soul was crossing over he captured it before turning it into an... A-Arrancar."

"How long have you been there?"

"Four months."

"And you never tried to leave?"

"I couldn't! Aizen knew I would rebel and placed a curse mark on me that cuts my power by seventy percent at his wish! And if I didn't obey him he would've turned me over to Szayel." The young woman shivered at his name.

"Who is this Arrancar?"

"He's a scientist, but more crazy and sadistic than Captain Kurotsuchi." To the Head Captain that was surprising. "They threatened to experiment on me."

"Aizen knew of your power to hypnotize your enemy's by just glancing at your zanpakuto in its released stated. Is that what he was after?"

"Yes. He intended to use me against the Soul Reapers during the Showdown. I've been against it from the start."

"Where is your zanpakuto?" Lexi remained silent. "Does Aizen have it?"

"No... I would never allow such a thing to fall into his possession."

"Then what happened to it-?"

"I broke it." This startled Yamamoto greatly. "I tore it to pieces and released its soul so it could remain dormant and no one else could touch its power ever again. I guess you could say I have nothing now... I have no ranking."

Lexi had been the Sixth Officer in the Eleventh Squad, the only female to take on Kenpachi Zaraki and live. She was highly respected and feared by her squad members, and could even be considered as the most powerful woman in the Soul Society in the last hundred years. She was even being considered for a Captain's position until her untimely death. It was no wonder that Aizen had been interested in her. But he played dirty, sending his Espada to kill her when she was in a gigai, powerless, and without warning. The damage had been so great that there was no hope to save her.

"Do you want to return to Aizen?"

"I never want to go back. I'd rather stay in this cell for the rest of my life. I don't want anyone to see me..."

The Head Captain stood. "That will be all for now."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lexi stared aimlessly at the ceiling to pass the time in her lonely cell. Days had passed and the Captains were in a heated debate on what to do with the suddenly revived Soul Reaper turned Arrancar. Sadly, she was hoping they chose to kill her.

The door to the cell opened, drawing her attention instantly. Though one look had her turning away quickly, not wanting to face the person who had just walked inside. "Lexi?" His voice was strained, almost as if he had been yelling, or maybe crying. "Lexi, please look at me-"

"Go away, Renji..." she answered, hiding her face even more.

"Damn it, I have to make sure! I have to make sure I'm not imagining things! Just show me your face!"

"No! Don't look at me-!"

The Lieutenant was gripping the young woman's wrists tightly, throwing her down on the uncomfortable bed and wrestled for dominance. Lexi thrashed wildly, trying to shield her face. But it was no use. Even though she was one of the strongest Soul Reapers he always had power over her.

Renji studied her features carefully, the girl's eyes closed and not wanting to see his expression as tears ran over her cheeks. She still looked the same, except for the newly planted hole in the middle of her clavicle and a white Hollow mask shaped into a rose that sat in place on the right side of her head. She used to always have that flower in place when she was a Soul Reaper, only it had been a deep red color.

Staring at the girl below him, Renji remembered clearly the day she had been taken away from him. They had been ordered to station in Karakura because of the increasing Arrancar attacks from Aizen's army. They had been formulating a plan as to how to counterattack, everyone pacing around the room in thought. Lexi had been saying that something was bothering her, that an unknown pressure was nearing them, but no one else could detect it, so the feeling was ignored. That was until the young woman stopped in front of the rice paper doors that led into the shop to answer a question Toshiro had asked, and a hand pieced through the paper, through her back and out the other side.

The Soul Reapers and humans all stared in shock, not knowing what to do. It had happened so suddenly, and no one had seen it coming. But the injury was very real, blood soaking the white hand and running down her chest, while the same liquid rose to her lips and spilled over. Finally the hand pulled away, allowing the Soul Reaper to drop to the ground lifelessly, which caused the room to erupt in chaos. Gigais were discarded, zanpakuto's drawn, and levels activated to drive out the intruder.

Renji remembered screaming her name as more blood spewed from her mouth with every cough, trying to breathe. But the windpipe and been completely ripped through, and Tessai and Orihime's healing powers weren't doing anything to stop the flood of blood as it ran over their hands. "Just stay with me! Stay with me, Lexi! LEXI!"

They couldn't pull her from the gigai, her soul too weak to survive on its own. It was clinging to the artificial body in a last attempt to survive. But as the seconds ticked by the light left her eyes and the Soul Reaper's body grew cold in the Lieutenant's arms.

It was a horrible memory, one he never wished to have repeated, and just holding her now, even this roughly, the warmth that came from her body was very real. She was real. She was here. This wasn't a dream or a nightmare, Lexi was alive.

"You shouldn't be here," she whispered. God how he had missed her voice. "You'll get in trouble. Please just leave me alone..."

"No," he answered back quickly. "I can never leave you alone. Not anymore. Not after what happened."

"Please don't touch me. I don't deserve it. Just go away-"

Renji slammed his lips against hers pressing their bodies as close together as possible. She immediately reacted against her will, craving the Soul Reaper more than ever before. But then she began crying, but for two different reasons, out of happiness and fear.

The Lieutenant pulled away, drying her eyes. "Renji," she sobbed. "Don't..."

"I can't help myself. Lexi, please don't push me away, not after what happened. I nearly went mad thinking you were dead."

"Stop!" The Arrancar was fighting back now. "Aizen will come after me! I went against orders and left Hueco Mundo! He'll come after me, and if you or anyone else is in the way he'll kill you! I don't want anyone to get hurt or die because of me!"

"I don't care!" he yelled, pulling the young woman into his chest. "Lexi, I don't care. As long as I can have you in my arms I don't care. The danger does not frighten me." The man buried his face into Lexi's hair, breathing in her scent. "I've never stopped loving you, so please, stay here with me. I don't care if you're an Arrancar. You're still you. You're still my girlfriend."

A shaky smile came to her lips at hearing that, hugging the Soul Reaper tightly and never wanting to let go. "I promise, Aizen will never lay a hand on you, never again. The Captains' are in your favor so when you're released, please come home with me."

"Renji, I don't have a zanpakuto anymore. I broke it."

He pulled away, a light smile on his lips. "I don't care. I still want you. You not having your power doesn't mean anything to me. You're still Lexi, and that is enough."

The young woman pulled the man closer, kissing him gently on the lips. "Thank you, Renji. And I'll always love you too."
