Name: Sakura Kuchiki

Crush: Renji Abarai

Age: Looks around 16-17

Looks: Black hair, pale skin, gray blue eyes, tall, slender, people call her beautiful although she never believes them.

Personality: Pretty much the opposite of her older brother, loud, smart-ass, flirts a lot but knows when it's time to get serious and not talk too much.

She hates the fact that people expect her to act a certain way because she's from the Kuchiki clan, hates people expecting her to live up to the standard of her brother, wishes she could just escape and live her own life

Zanpakuto: Taimukiipaa (Time Keeper)

Shikai: Slows down a person's movement and thinking until they can barely move and can only move as fast as a snail. Effects as many people as she wants and can choose who it affects and who it doesn't

Bankai: Freezes time itself. Unlike in Shikai, she has no control over who it effects and it will freeze EVERYTHING, can't stop it, it has to wear out. The effects may take hours, days or years. She doesn't release it unless it's a life-or-death situation.

"Sakura Kuchiki!" Renji Abarai yelled from his upside-down position. "I swear to God I'm gonna kill you! I don't care if you are a Kuchiki!"

"Renji, what is the meaning on you yelling this early in the morning?" Byakuya Kuchiki questioned, walking towards his Lieutenant.

Renji stiffed, trying to look over his shoulder. "Uh... G-Good morning, Captain."

"May I ask why you are hanging from your ankle in that tree?"

Renji grumbled under his breath, arms crossing, "Ask your sister."

Byakuya sighed, shaking his head. "What am I going to do with her?" he asked, walking away.

"H-Hey! Captain-!"

"If you can be out smarted by a Third Seat then that is truly disappointing. You can make up for it by getting out."

The Lieutenant muttered some colorful words, trying to reach for his zanpakuto, which had fallen from his hip to the ground. "That smart-ass, annoying, noble-"

"Hey, Renji!" a voice called. He looked over, watching as an upside-down version of Sakura came forward. The young woman cocked her head to the side, bending down to eyelevel. "Your face is starting to turn the color of your hair."

"No thanks to you!" Renji snapped.

"Aw, Lieutenant, that's not very nice. Can't you take a joke?"

"I would if they weren't always involving me."

Sakura smirked. "You're so much fun to tease though," she answered, raising one hand and running a finger down the man's chest. It made his tense up. Sakura was constantly doing this, but it always affected him, and the woman knew it.

While Renji was distracted, Sakura cut the rope effortlessly, making the Soul Reaper crash to the ground. "There, better?"

A vein pulsed on the young man's head and he jumped up to his feet. Sakura was already rushing off. "I swear when I get my hands on you Sakura, you are dead!" Renji yelled, waving a fist in her direction.

The Kuchiki sister paused when reaching the railing, resting both elbows on the surface. "Really now? Huh, and this time would be different from all those other ones how?"

More veins appeared on the Lieutenant's head before he flash stepped towards the young woman. Sakura laughed, rushing off again. They raced through the Sixth Division stepping around other members who were in their way. Minutes later, Renji watched as Sakura's feet slid across the wooden path and turned into the next hallway. The man grinned. "I've got you-!"

"Sakura," Byakuya's voice spoke from the joining hall. Renji skidded to a halt before rounding the corner. "How many times have I told you to not run in the halls?"

Sakura sighed. "Too many if you ask me, brother."

"You're from the Kuchiki family, which means you have a name to uphold. I will not stand by and watch you destroy it with your... childish behavior." Sakura scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Is there a reason why you were running?"

It was quiet for a few seconds before Sakura answered, "No, brother, I was out of line. I'm sorry."

Sakura then walked off down the hall. "Next time think twice about chasing my sister, Renji," Byakuya's cold tone spoke up. The young man's body went rigged as the Captain disappeared from sight.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

It had been a week since the incident in the hallway and Sakura's visits to the office had been few and far between. Renji was actually beginning to miss the female Kuchiki. "Renji," Byakuya spoke. "I am sending you on a mission to the World of the Living. Sakura will be joining you."

"Yes, sir, orders?"

"Join up with Rukia and the human boy Ichigo Kurosaki. The four of you are to deal with the massive number of Hollows that have been plaguing the town at night."

"Right. Where is your sister?"

Byakuya gave his Lieutenant a 'do-you-think-I-know-where-she-is' look. Renji sighed, and left the office. He walked up to Sakura's door, lightly knocking. "Sakura?" Knock, knock. "Hey, Sakura, open up! We've got a mission."

The door slid open and revealed the young woman, strapping a zanpakuto to her waist. "I hear yah, let's get going," she responded, and they walked for the gate. Renji glanced at the Third Seat from the corner of his eye, waiting for her to tease or flirt with him in some way during their journey. However, she seemed more reserved than normal. It made him slightly worried.

Once they passed to the other side and stood in Karaura Town, Sakura reached high for the sky, stretching out her muscles, a smile finally coming to her face. "About time!" she exclaimed happily. "It's been forever since I came to the World of the Living! Not only that but Byakuya was starting to really run on my last nerve."

Renji sighed; glad to see she was back to her old self. "Let's go to Urahara's and grab our gigais," he announced.

Sakura smirked back at him, causing the man to blush. "I'll race you!" In the blink of an eye the Third Seat was gone.

"Cheater!" Renji shouted, rushing off as well.

Sakura laughed as Renji walked in, grumbling to himself. "About time," she teased. "Jeez, you're getting slow."

"Shut up!" the young man snapped, walking into the back and grabbing his gigai.

"Well, it's nice to see the two of you get along as usual," Kisuke grinned.

Sakura rolled her eyes, leaning back on her elbows. "So, Hat-n-Clogs, where's Ichigo and Rukia?"

"Probably at school, though they should be coming over soon."

Sakura sighed, laying on the floor and looking up at the ceiling. Renji entered the room again, dressed in his odd clothing. "Has the words 'plain T-shirt' and 'jeans' ever crossed your mind?"

"Shut up!" Renji grumbled, looking over the attire Sakura wore. Her jeans were dark blue, a white T-shirt sitting on the upper half of her body. "Your style is too plain for me."

"Whatever," Sakura drawled out, rolling her eyes. "I think you just do it for the attention."

A vein pulsed on Renji's forehead. "Boss! I need you!" Tessai called from the back.

"Try not to kill each other before I get back," Kisuke said before leaving.

"Like that will ever happen," Renji grumbled, sitting down at the table and drinking his tea. Sakura sat up, a grin coming to her face. Renji gulped, not liking the look in her eyes. "W-What?"

"Oh, nothing," Sakura said a little too innocently. "I was just wondering what you'd look like in your boxers?" Renji's face turned red in embarrassment. "Does your underwear have pineapple prints on them so they match your hair?"

Renji's forehead pulsed with many veins. "I swear I'm gonna-"

The man suddenly found Sakura straddling his waist, a finger running down his chest seductively. The Lieutenant tensed, face heating up. "I wonder... can I see them?"

"W-What a-a-are you s-saying!" Renji stammered in shock. He wanted to know how she could keep such a straight face and not blush in the slightest to show she was embarrassed by this.

Sakura then started laughing. "Priceless! Every time I swear your expression gets better and better!"

Renji growled, knowing she was only doing this of her own amusement. She just loved to toy with people's emotions. He huffed, looking away. "Why must you play with other people to get a laugh?"

"Oh, come on," Sakura spoke, finally calming down. "I'm stuck in the Kuchiki Household where there is little to no emotion. You can't blame me for playing tricks or messing around with people. It's the only way I stay sane."

"But why do you have to do it to me?"

Sakura pouted like a little kid. "Aw, come on, Renji, don't be like that. I do it because I know you can take it." Her smile came back again full force. "And besides, I like you silly. I don't do this with everyone. You're special."

"Hey! Hat-n-Clog's!" a voice called from the front.

Sakura jumped up to greet them. Renji stayed where he was, shocked by what Sakura had just said. She liked him. Even if she implied only as friends it meant a lot to the Lieutenant to know she cared about him. Kisuke stepped into the room, fan in front of his face. "So? Did you hear what you wanted to?" he asked, snapping Renji from his trance.

The young man looked out the door and watched as Rukia and Sakura talked to each other. He grinned. "Yeah... that and a lot more..."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Sakura!" Renji called out, looking around the shop for the woman. "Sakura!" Renji poked his head outside, looking around. "Hey, idiot!"

He heard someone sigh and looked up, finding her sitting on the roof of the shop. "No need you yell, I can hear you loud and clear," Sakura spoke.

Renji climbed up to her, finding the Kuchiki sitting with her legs pulled against her chest, staring off into Karakura Town. "Hey... We're going to have to go back to the Soul Society in a few hours. What'cha doin' up here?"

"Thinking..." Sakura answered, not taking her eyes off the scenery. "It's beautiful isn't it? Funny, I find the Soul Society pretty boring compared to this." Renji sat silently and listened to what she had to say. She sighed, resting her chin on both knees. "I'm bored, Renji."

"Huh?" the Lieutenant questioned.

"I'm bored with life. Don't get me wrong, I like being a Soul Reaper and protecting souls from Hollows. I'm bored with my social life. I hate being a Kuchiki, having to live up to rules to prove myself. Everyone thinks I have to act like my brother and I hate having that title. I watch as those who aren't nobles live their lives without rules, free to do whatever they want and live life to the fullest. I feel like a caged animal, a prisoner.

"I wish I could stay in the World of the Living forever. I could get lost here and live my life. I guess you could call it my escape. If I had been born into a different family, I'm sure that I would be a lot happier."

"Don't talk like that!" Renji snapped. "If you had been born into a different family you would most likely not be in the Sixth Squad, or even have become a Soul Reaper. You might not have made the friends you have now. Your personality would probably be very different, and on top of that you probably would not be a Third Seat."

"You're right..." Sakura said in thought. "I would probably be a Captain!"

An irk mark appeared on Renji's head, while the young woman laughed. She looked up at Renji, smiling. "I envy you, Renji. You have no idea how lucky you are."

The young man sighed, looking off into the distance, Sakura doing the same. The Lieutenant chuckled, raising a hand and lightly placing it on top of the Third Seat's head. "You're going to be just fine, Sakura."

She scoffed, "Hardly. If I stay in that Household any longer without some kind of fun, I will go insane. I mean, over one-hundred years in that house is enough to make anyone depressed."

Renji laughed, pulling Sakura closer. For the first time she blushed, eyes widening at the gesture and emotion she got out of Renji. "I think you'll manage, Sakura." He looked down, realizing the Third Seat was trying to hide her face. "Hey, you okay?"

"Uh, yeah, fine," Sakura answered a little too quickly.

Renji pulled away just enough to see her blush. He broke out laughing. "I can't believe the great Sakura Kuchiki is blushing! I thought I'd never see the day!"

"Shut up!" the young woman snapped, blushing even more, and trying to look away.

Renji pulled Sakura into his chest, wrapping his other arm around her. "Don't you worry, you're going to be fine. And if you ever need company just find me."

"You sure?" Sakura asked, looking up at Renji.

He smiled down at her. "I'm sure. Think of it as a 'personal' escape." Sakura gave him an eye-closing grin and the young man placed his hand on a cheek, his face moving closer to hers. "Starting now," he whispered before connecting their lips.

Sakura's eyes widened, looking at Renji's face as his eyes closed. Finally, the young woman closed her eyes as well, pressing against his lips. When they pulled away for air, she whispered against him, "My escape..."

Renji grinned, caressing the cheek with his thumb. He kissed her eyelid, nose, and cheek. "Of course," he whispered back before kissing the Third Seat's lips once more. "Oh, and one more thing..."

"Hmm?"

Their noses barely touched. "Don't expect me to not tease you after this. I going to get some sweet payback from all the times you played around with me."

Sakura smirked in response. "Bring it on."

"I intend to," Renji smirked too before kissing Sakura again.
