Yesmeen

"Since my return, I've discovered that my friends Ameera and Yusrah are also back . We're living in different apartments, but our friendship remains strong. Ameera, a shy and quiet girl, especially in public, is dating Yusrah's brother, whose name I haven't yet learned. In contrast, Yusrah is outgoing, carefree, and shares many interests with me. We've reconnected effortlessly.

Pursuing my dream of becoming an architect hasn't been easy, but it's a goal I'm determined to achieve. Ammar, my childhood friend, and I shared this dream, and he encouraged me to pursue it. While some might view architecture as a boring field or one dominated by men, I'm undeterred. I want to succeed and fulfill our shared vision. Ammar aspired to become a medical doctor, and I hope he's find his path and is thriving wherever he is.

As I reflect on our journey, I can't help but smile. We were once kids with big dreams, and now we're chasing them. I hold our photos close, remembering the good times and hoping that happiness finds Ammar wherever he may be."

Just as I'm lost in thought, a loud knock on the door startles me. "Will you come and open the door already?" Yusrah's voice rings out, her signature boldness making me chuckle. I quickly put the photos away and hurry to the door. As I open it, I'm greeted by the sight of Yusrah struggling under the weight of numerous boxes, with Ameera smiling sheepishly behind her.

I can't help but laugh at the sight. "What's all this?" I ask, stepping aside to let them in. We manage to lug the boxes into my room, and as we finish, i  asks, "So, what's cooking?

We are  moving in?" The exclaim My eyes light up with excitement as I squeeze them both into a tight hug. "Oh my Allah, girls, I'm so happy to see you! I love you both!"

Yusrah, always the drama queen, interrupts our reunion, "Hey, miss, can you please get us something to eat first? I'm starving!" She struts into the kitchen, leaving Ameera and me to giggle at her antics.

I shook my head, laughing at Yusrah's antics. "Ameera, how far? Always cool, right?" Ameera smiled and followed me, curious about the commotion.

"She's taking my last Nutella! Momma, what the hell, Yusrah? Taking my last thing!"

Yes, oh my god! Wait, I'll get you your Nutella. Don't kill me, Amee! Yaya is here, right? Please plead with him to come over tonight so he can take us shopping. Maybe I can get this Nutella for this girl."

I smiled, "Don't worry, I don't want it anymore."

Ameera pointed out, "We need to get some groceries. I see everything here is empty." I nodded, pressing my lips together. Ameera dialed a number, and after three rings, she signaled that someone has picked up. I didn't know what they discussed, but Ameera nodded, and he told her to get ready.

After praying Magrib, I changed into a grey jeans and white tank top outfit, adding a black jacket and a matching veil."Finally, I will get to meet this brother-in-law you've been hiding for years!"  I joked, looking at Ameera while she chuckled.

As her phone rang, she exclaimed, "I think he's here!" and quickly spritzed on perfume. "Please, Yesmeen, go to him since you're ready. He doesn't like waiting," she pleaded.

I hesitated, "You're crazy! How do you expect me to go to his place? Besides, he doesn't even know me." I slid my debit card into my bag, still unsure.

Oh God, Yesmeen, please! He really doesn't like waiting at all." Yusrah chimed in, "Just tell him we're getting ready." She relented,

walking towards the exit, "I hope your brother is a nice person."

Ameera reassured me, "He's super nice, don't worry."

I walked out of my apartment building, and there it was, a white BMW X6 parked outside. The tinted windows prevented me from seeing who was inside. My heart started racing as I placed my hand on my chest.

Approaching the car, I knocked on the window, unsure of who was behind me. As I turned around, a strong gust of wind blew, causing my veil to fall over his face and my hair to cover mine. My heart raced even faster as I caught a whiff of his captivating cologne.

His hand gently touched my hair, causing butterflies to flutter inside me. I blinked my eyes and closed them again as he pushed my hair back and wrapped my veil around me.

The moment our eyes met, my heart pounded in my chest. Just like him, he exclaimed, "YOU!" He pushed me back, giving me a stern glare.

"What brought you to my girlfriend's place?" he asked.

As I stood my ground, I retorted, "You're one to talk, mister! What brings you to my apartment?" My eyes locked onto his, daring him to respond.

Yusrah's brother, known for his arrogance, sneered at me. "Your name isn't on the lease, but perhaps you are  the human embodiment of the apartment," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

I clenched my teeth, my frustration simmering. "One more word, and I'll have security escort you out!"

He took a step closer, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Please, do try. I'd love to see you attempt it."

Just then, Ameerah intervened, her innocent smile a welcome respite from the tension. "Hey, hey, guys! What's going on here?"

I shot Yusrah's brother a withering glance. "I wonder how someone as sweet as Ameerah ended up with someone as stubborn and rude as him," I muttered, my disdain evident.

"You're right, someone not like you," he muttered, his eyes gleaming with amusement. He turned to Ameerah, his smile charming.

"Sorry, I was getting ready and asked her to come meet you since I know you dislike waiting. She's also a friend of mine."

His eyes lit up. "Oh, nice! It's lovely to meet you." He turned to me, his smirk evident. "And what's your name?" I ignored him, turning away, but his warning glance at Yusrah didn't escape me.

"Suit yourself. Let's get going, Yesmeen," Yusrah said, taking my hand. The sudden movement caught his attention, and he turned to us. I shot him a glare. "I'd rather walk than ride with this jerk."

"I'm not going anymore!" I exclaimed, turning to her. "Why? Please come with us," she pleaded, her voice soft.

"Since she isn't coming, just let her be," he exclaimed.

I rolled my eyes and walked away, heading back to my apartment. I changed my clothes, cooked noodles, and ate while watching my favorite TV show. Then, when Isha was called, I prayed and ended up scrolling through my phone.

So, when they came back, they just felt like killing me, but who cares? Not me, of course. The next day, we went to school, and Alhamdulillah, everything is going well.

Please show some love❤️✨
