My heart is racing, and the butterflies in my stomach are going wild. As I watch him get down on his knees, a smile spreads across my face. I can't help but analyze every feature on his face - his aquiline nose, thick black brows, long lashes, and those cute pink lips. But what stands out the most are his captivating eyes.

"Yesmeen! My knees are already weak," he says in a deep and melodic voice that sends chills down my spine. I lock eyes with him, and as I try to snatch my hand away, he holds on even tighter. "Please, Yesmeen, if you don't accept me, I feel like I'm dying. Please, I love you. Why can't you accept that?"

I look at him, trying to hide the laughter that's bubbling up inside me. "Are you for real?" I blink my eyes at him. "Why didn't you tell me this until now?"

"Because I was scared of your answer. Even now, I'm scared of what you'll say," he admits, looking down sadly at the grass.

I reach out and touch his face gently. "Silly boy, don't make me laugh.

Please, yesmeen , stop. This isn't funny. I'm trying to tell you how I feel about you. I want our relationship to move to another level. Why can't you understand?"It's okay, Yesmeen. I understand." He stands up, still holding my hand.

I look at me with a mix of guilt and understanding. "

"Oh my Allah, Ammar! Please don't make me feel guilty.

We lay on the grass, holding hands, gazing up at the dark, starry sky. It's so mesmerizing, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of peace.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" he turned to me, his eyes filled with wonder.

I smiled, unable to believe how lucky I am to have him by my side. "It truly is," I replied, shivering slightly in the cool night air. He took off his jacket and helped me put it on, leaving him in just a polo.

"Better?" he asked, his voice filled with warmth and concern.

"Yes, thank you," I said, feeling a sense of comfort in his presence.

"Why don't you just accept him, Yesmeen?" I thought to my self . "He's sweet, nice, calm, and a gentle man. I know Ammar, he won't let me know that I hurt him... What should I do? I will accept him just to show Ameera her place. I'll accept him even though I'm not in love with him."

I squeezed his hand, feeling a mix of emotions. "

He looked at me, a huge smile on his face. "Look up at the stars," he said, his voice filled with a sense of wonder. "Make a wish with all your heart and soul... when you do, truly honestly believe... it will come true."

I thought for a moment, contemplating what wish to make. "Anything?" I asked.

"Anything," he confirmed.

"I pray that you should continue to love me only," I said, my voice filled with vulnerability.

He chuckled softly. "You don't love me, Yesmeen, so why this wish?"

I smiled nervously, looking into his eyes. "Because you make me feel something special, something I can't explain. And maybe, just maybe, one day my heart will catch up."

As we lay there, the stars twinkled above us, as if they were sending a message of hope and possibility.

The night sky is filled with breathtaking constellations, forming a mesmerizing display. As I yawned and closed my eyes, he smiled and kept his gaze fixed on the stars above. He closed his eyes for a moment and whispered a wish. When he opened his eyes, he looked at me and asked, "You're quiet. What are you thinking about?"

"I was just reminiscing about when we first met," I replied. His face lit up with a knowing smile. "I remember it very well," he said. "You were caring and protective, Ammar."

I can still picture you in your uniforms, yesmeen

It was the first day my dad scolded me, mistaking you for a taxi driver.

"You refused to let me give you a ride at first," I recalled,. "Were you afraid I was a kidnapper or something?"

We both laughed, remembering that day when so many girls were trekking, but you chose only me

Maybe it's because I felt that you were meant for me,"he stated.

Our friendship grew deeper with each passing day, going beyond just math homework. I always hated math, but you patiently taught me.

Then, one morning, you surprised me by leaving a single red rose on my window. As I opened it, a cotton-candy pink envelope greeted me. My heart danced with excitement as I eagerly unfolded the matching pink paper, only to find a drawing of a smiling face.

"I still remember that," he chuckled

Suddenly, his phone rang, and he answered it, saying, "Sorry, I'll be back right now." He hang up and looked at me,

Ameera?" I mumbled, "

Uhmm... he reply

You love her now?

I don't have any option?" He shrugged.

I felt a surge of anger and hurt, saying, "Ammar, I can't believe you've been lying to me all this time. I feel like such a fool for trusting you. Why would you do this to me? You told me you don't love her, and now this?"

I'm sorry, Yesmeen. He apologized I didn't mean to hurt you. I just didn't know what else to do. It's complicated."

I pressed him for answers, saying, "Complicated? What do you mean? You should've tried harder to win me over instead of turning to Ameera."

I thought you rejected me, Yesmeen. I didn't know what else to do. I'm sorry if I hurt you.

Sorry? That's all you have to say? Ammar. I love you. Can't you see that?

I'm sorry, Yesmeen. I didn't mean to hurt you. But I can't just ignore my feelings for Ameera.

So, what now? Are you going to choose her over me?

I don't know, Yesmeen. I'm just trying to figure things out. I never wanted to hurt you.

I truly do love you, please believe me I hugged him tight .

I know you said it, Yesmeen, but I need to feel it. I need to know that your love is real.

Ammar, please. I'm begging you. Don't go to Ameera. Give us a chance.

I can't make any promises, Yesmeen. But I'll take some time to think about it.

Please, Ammar. Don't make me beg. I can't bear the thought of losing you.

I understand, Yesmeen. I'll think about everything you've said. Just give me some time.

I pushed him hard while he let out a laughter pulling me into a warm hug I love you too yesmeen I really do..and we stayed like this for a minute before he lifted my face up staring down to my lips..

Just as his phone started ringing, he hesitated to pick it up at first, but it kept ringing repeatedly, so he finally answered it.

"Mami," he said, picking up the call. Maybe he didn't realize his hand touched the speaker.

I can hear his mother's voice on the other end, sounding angry. She asked, "Dan ubanka Muhammad, where the hell did you go? And you left your wife at home knowing she's sick..."

He immediately looked at me, his expression filled with concern, and quickly moved away from my side.

Confused, I asked, "What was that?" After he came back, he looked at me and apologized, saying, "Sorry to cut the night short, but we really have to go," he mumbled.

I stared at him, searching for answers. "What was that? What did I hear through the phone? Don't play games with me," I gritted my teeth.

"Oh my god, Yesmeen, it's nothing," he replied, trying to reassure me. Frustrated, I snapped back, "Nothing? You said nothing? For God's sake, I'm not a kid! Stop playing around and tell me what she's talking about!" I yelled.

In that moment, he pulled me closer to him, unexpected sealing his lips with mine in a passionate kiss. "Just wait and see, Ameera. Even if you die, you won't see Ammar in your place today," he whispered.

I couldn't resist and pulled myself into him, kissing him back.

Feeling overwhelmed, I decided, "I need to call Aunt Maryam tomorrow... What was all that about?"
