I inhaled and exhaled slowly, not registering what had happened. Elena covered for me, telling Tyler and Aunt Carol I was at her house helping her with some stuff.
I sat on my bed as some hours ticked by, staring at the wall. It became time for me to enroll myself in school for the time being. I began to get ready as my phone began to ring and I looked at the caller ID.
Damon Sexy Salvatore.
I rolled my eyes as I picked up the phone.
"Hello?" I answered.
"I assume you know why I've called?" He asked me.
"No I don't, how did you get your number in my phone?" I basically saw the smirk appear on his face.
"I have my ways, Ash. Anyway, on a unrelated topic, I need you to come to my house, we have someone to fill us in on this whole mess." I was really confused, the vampire still wants me?
"What's your address?" I asked sighing.
"I'll pick you up in about 5 minutes, be ready to see my lovely face."
For a hot guy he sure is an egotistical ass.
It was about five minutes before he honked his horn, I cringed seeing him again as I walked outside. "You look less mangled as you were the other day," he told me, smirking.
This ass knew how to push my buttons.
"And you're still the same asshole from the other day! Too bad there isn't much difference." I stuck out my lower lip and watched as his smirk turned into a frown. I moved to the passenger side and sat, waiting for the car to move. "Are we going or not?" I rudely asked, but he ignored me and started the car back up.
The ride was pleasantly silent, thankfully. We rode through town to get to his house, it was so nice. Mystic Falls townsfolk carried on their day as the supernatural roam, them being so unaware.
As the car came to a halt, Damon jogged slightly over to me opening my door, a gave a nodded thank you and saw as Elena walked up to the door.
"Hi, Elena." I called and waved slightly, she turned to me and smiled while she warmly hugged me.
"How are you?" She asked me still concerned.
"I'm alright, thank you and yourself?" Before she answered, Damon stepped in.
"Alright enough with the girl talk, we have Stefan waiting inside." Elena scolded him and knocked, allowing Stefan to open it and send us all inside. I turned my head to the left and saw the person I never wanted to see ever again,
"Rose."
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"Okay, you have to understand I only know what I've picked up over the years and I don't know what's true and what's not true. That's the problem with all this vampire crap, but Klaus I know is real." Rose explained as me and Elena sat on the couch, looking for some answers.
"Who is he?" Elena asked confused.
"One of the originals, he's a legend." Damon explained.
"Like Elijah?" I asked.
"Elijah is nothing compared to Klaus,"
Rose paced as she went into details, leading to Elena asking the question I was dying to ask.
"So, the oldest vampire in the history of time is coming after us?" I still question why he wants me, do soul-mates really exist?
"I have a question," I spoke above. "How do you know he wants me?"
"I do. He sent vampires out to look for you, he was basically obsessed with you and apparently still is, he won't stop. Klaus always gets what he wants, and he won't stop until he does."
I shivered as Stefan shot me a look of sympathy. I felt a hand on my shoulder, "For all we know he's a made up bedtime story, so it's a solid maybe." I rolled my eyes at Damon and stood up with Elena, making our way to the door.
"Where're you guys going?" Stefan asked.
"I have school," Elena said as I walked out to her car.
Well well well, gotta love being the soul-mate of a story book character.

I spent the day at the house, catching up on some True Blood.. My mind did seem to wander as usual, thinking through this Klaus thing. Ok to be honest I did wonder if he was hot...then maybe....
After spending the whole day in bed I really needed fresh air or something. Not that I love being in this house, I just hate being contained in one space. Dad must be back in Florida right about now, should I even call?
"Ash!" Tyler yelled in my face as I opened my bedroom door. "Ty! You gave me a heart attack!" I screamed as he placed his hand over my mouth, "You're my cousin, I'm trusting you with this information that I wasn't supposed to say to anyone. Can I trust you?"
Ooo gossip ;).
"Course, Tyler, spill it." He took a heavy breath and exhaled.
"You know Caroline?"
"Well, I know like 3."
"Caroline Forbes."
"Elena's friend? Yeah, she showed me around today."
"She's a vampire."
Well what a bust. Another vampire? Big whoop, they're everywhere but he doesn't even seem to realize it.
"What? Vampires don't exist!" I faked shocked and scared, so he just pulled me into a hug.
"She won't hurt you, I promise. She's good, at least that's what she told me."
"Is there more?"
"No, just her."
Lying little bitch. This tea is too hot!
"Okay, please be careful, Ty. They can be everywhere." I whispered the last part motioning around the room, slightly smiling, he wasn't. "I'm serious," he grumped, I laughed and waved him off as I ran downstairs and slipped on my shoes.
My phone began to ring,
Damon Sexy Salvatore.
I really need to get that changed.
"Hello?" I answered rolling my eyes.
"Miss Lockwood, glad you've picked up."
"You need something?"
"Yeah, do you wanna come with me and Rose to some place to meet up with someone named Slater?"
"Got nothing else better to do." I said monotoned.
"Alright, wolfie, we'll pick you up at Lockwood mansion in a few."
••••••••••••••
"So why are we going through the back entrance?" I asked Damon.
"I'll burn, vampires burn in the sun without a special ring to protect us from the sun." Rose answered, making me swerve my head to the back seat. We all got out from the car, only for Damon to snake his arm around my waist.
The cringe was so real.
"There's vamps in there that won't appreciate a werewolf walking in, stay with me and act cool." I nodded as Rose showed us the way inside.
As we three walked inside, the sun shone through a glass that illuminated the room.
"Whoa. What about the, uh...sunlight?" Damon asked Rose as she took off her jacket.
"Double-Paned and tempered, UV rays can't penetrate. You see the appeal now?" a voice came from behind her, causing Damon to pull me closer to him. Ew. "That and the free wi-fi." I was guessing it's Slater.
"I saw you come, what're you doing here?" he asked Rose as the broke from their hug.
"MMM, it's a long story, but I want you to meet-"
"Damon Salvatore. Turned 1864 by Katherine Pierce, aka Katerina Petrova. So I take it I was right. What I told you about the tomb underneath the church is true?"
"Yes. It was right, thank you for the tip."
Slater looked to me and tilted his head "You aren't a vampire... Ashlynn Lockwood. Daughter of Mason Lockwood, the werewolf. Nice to meet you both."
Ugh why did he have to use the W word.
•••••••••••••
We all sat by the window, I mentally left their petty conversation. A figure had caught my eye, he looked familiar, he threw something and the glass came crashing down.
I covered myself as the glass came down on everyone. I heard the sizzling, sickly burn of vampire flesh, looking to my right to see Rose screaming and burning. Damon and I were in shock and unable to process what just happened. I grabbed Rose's jacket and covered her, making our escape, she began to cry as we entered the car.
"You're gonna be okay," I cooed as she pushed my hand away gently.
"I know, it's just-" Damon stood between us.
"Who was behind that?"
"I don't know! Where's Slater?"
"Iowa by now, who the hell knows?"
"He's not behind this, he's a good guy. He wouldn't betray me." her voice began to crack, on the verge of tears.
"Then who did it?"
"It's Klaus, don't you understand? You don't know this man! I'm dead! We're all dead!" she sobbed.
••••••••••
Me and Damon stood by the fire, he poured himself a drink. I have to admit, I became quite drunk.
"Damon, you know-w you're hot for a jerko."
"Yes I know." he laughed.
"I mean, you have this look to you," I walked closer to him to where I felt the heat radiating off his warm body. My drink was placed on the side by him.
"What are you getting at, Ashlynn?" he asked me, I smiled lazily.
"Maybe we can...have fun? For tonight, you know?" I laughed and fell, but his arms caught me and pulled me upward.
"You're drunk. It's not going to be much fun tomorrow if we sleep together, you aren't thinking." he told me, I pressed my lips to his cheek.
"Ssh, baby. Hah."
I was totally wasted and just wanted company, it's been so long since me and Grey had broken up.
But I literally dropped to the floor and fell asleep.
