The fatigue has been kicking my ass lately and to add insult to injury it's raining. The laundromat was so dead I finished all my homework and did a little bit of studying. I still have two hours left of my shift and I want to take a nap so bad I'm literally about to cry.

I rub my stomach absentmindedly walking around the place. If I keep moving I'll have no time to be sleepy, at least that's what I'm trying to convince myself.

The door swings open then it's pushed shut. My eyebrows crease together until I see a soaking wet Changkyun. His t-shirt is sticking to him, and his hair is pressed against his forehead.

Me: What're you doing here?

He holds up a bag.

Changkyun: I brought you lunch, but I didn't realize how hard it was raining.
Me: Oh? Thank you.

He looks around and frown.

Changkyun: Your boss should really let you leave early days like this. You're pregnant and no one is here!

What he doesn't know is my boss definitely told me yesterday the forecast was going to be like this and to not come in if I want.

My hardheaded ass said I'd come anyways because I need to save money for the baby!

He sanitizes the table and dries it before setting the food up. I thank him, the smell of the chicken is enough to make your mouth water.

Changkyun: Uh I hope you like it.

His face is pink.

Me: Wait a minute, you cooked all this?

He nods.

Changkyun: Jungkook said to stop buying you fast food so I just tried to make the garlic parmesan chicken you like so much at home. I baked it though.
Me: It looks and smells delicious, thank you so much.
Changkyun: It was nothing.

I smile at him and he clears his throat.

From the first bite I'm mesmerized, this tastes amazing. I waste no time stuffing my face. He chuckles a bit pointing to the rice and salad.

Changkyun: Eat your sides too.

I nod digging into that as well.

Changkyun: My father came by.

I choke, he slides a bottle of water my way.

Changkyun: He's divorcing my mother. He doesn't like what she said to you but mainly because he's tired of politics and she keeps trying to force him back into it. The money, social status and perks is all she wants.

My breath finally comes back to me.

Me: Wow that's a lot. How're you feeling about it?
Changkyun: Shocked, I knew they stopped seeing eye to eye a while ago but I honestly thought it was going to be a who can out stubborn the other kind of thing.
Me: I'm sorry. Rocky relationship or not seeing your parents divorce has to suck.

He laughs.

Changkyun: Maybe it's for the best. He kept apologizing to me and said he wants to be in the baby's life but I don't know. People changing overnight ain't too promising.

People like him having their guards up is a hundred percent valid. All his life they told lies to fit the narrative they tried to instill in him. Now he's unlearning it all and honestly I'm proud.

Me: Well, if it means anything you'll always have a family here.

I jump.

Me: Holy shit it kicked.
Changkyun: Kicked? Already?
Me: Here give me your hand.

I place his hand on my stomach and the baby does the motion again.

Changkyun: That's so weird.

Me: Right!

We both laugh.

Me: Here, have some of your chicken it's delicious.

I lift up the fork telling him to say ahh, as soon as his mouth opens I shove the chicken in there. He nods his head at the taste.

Changkyun: Damn, that is good.

Imagine my surprise when I get home to see my mom, Jungkook's mom and Haechan's mom sitting in the living-room. I try my best to run out but Maya stops me.

Maya: This is your reality now sis, you have to face it.
Me: I hate this!
Maya: Shouldn't have been fucking.

She turns me around and we walk into the lion's den together. Haechan's mom rushes to hug me. She's always been a sweet sensitive lady. Her tears start to fall as she rocks us from side to side.

My mother sighs softly before pulling the lady off me.

Mrs.Lee: I'm sorry it's just, when Haechan told us you were pregnant he didn't mention it might not be his.
Me: I'm sorry. It's not an easy thing to come out and say, I guess I'm still embarrassed.

The wild part is I'm not embarrassed at all.

Never have been, I had a good ass time over the summer!

Mrs.Lee: Oh honey we all make mistakes. Now we just have to focus on that baby.
Mrs.Jeon: How've you been feeling since last time?
Me: Really tired. No pain though.

They all smile.

Mom: Yeah that pregnancy fatigue is no joke. If you don't have a nap when you want to you'll probably end up crying.
Me: That was me at work! Eyes watering and all!

Hours passed as I talked to them. It was an open conversation, no judgement just motherly knowledge. Maya even got dragged into it.

I group facetimed the boys to give them a recap. I brush my teeth while Haechan begins to complain about how his dad saids "I'm too young to be a grandparent."

Spoiler alert: he's not!

Jungkook pauses his push-ups to laugh.

Changkyun: I'm sorry my mom isn't onboard.
Jungkook: Don't apologize for her actions.
Haechan: Exactly! She's a grown ass lady.

I nod spitting out my mouthwash.

Me: Are you guys coming to the doctor appointment tomorrow?

All three say "yes!"

Due to the circumstances my doctor gives leeway and let all three come in the back now.

We're like a dysfunctional family, I hope it stays this way.

Five more months.
