The unicorn turns it's head, it's blue eyes sparkling as the lock on to mine for a moment. It stretches it's neck toward the water and as it's horn makes contact with the furnace, the murky pool clears! Purified instantly. I jump off the unicorns back as it starts to drink from the pool to try it my self.I have barely gotten a beekful when the unicorn cocks it's head to the left, listening into the distance. I hear the hunters a moment later and the unicorn begins to gallop away. I stretch my wings and kick off the ground, flying after the unicorn but struggling to keep up.The unicorn gallops faster than any horse man can tame, it's strong legs caring it over fallen logs and rabbit holes. It quickly outruns the hunters and trots off toward a clearing.From the other side i can see a light, a little pinprick that comes through the trees. The unicorn sees this light as well and approaches it. I fly in closer to get a better look and see that the light was made by a mirror that rests in the hand of a beautiful woman. She sits under a dark wooded tree, her hair done up in a complex bun and her silk gown a marvel of intricate patterns. In one hand she clutches the mirror, a beautiful piece of work, the handel imbedded with mother of pearl. In the other hand she grips the Handel of a woven basket so full of fruit and cakes some have spilled onto the mossy ground on which she sits. The unicorn lies down next to the woman as I land in the foliage of the tree above them. I watch as the unicorn allows the woman to stroke it's beautiful white mane, rest its head on her lap and doze off. The woman looks at the unicorn and whistles a short five note tune. The unicorn, unfazed by the noise, sleeps on. To be continued...…
