At breakfast, before Odin lets us dig in to the wonderful food, he stands. I wonder what this is about. "Asgard! I am elated to announce that my son will wed Princess Azalena at the solstice celebration!" He booms. There's claps and cheers as both of us shrink back in our seats. It's less than a week away, and though we both are extremely fond of each other, it feels like this ceremony will be rushed. He allows us to begin eating and Loki keeps his hand on mine the entire time.

"Would you be terribly hurt if we just spent the day in our quarters today?" Loki asks timidly. "Of course not. I myself wished to do that," I admit. He takes my hand and we walk back to our quarters.

A few minutes into simply reading together on our bed, a maid comes in. "Apologies, your Highnesses, but the royal tailor has requested Princess Azalena's presence in the tailor room," she says nervously. I nod and rise from the bed. Loki pulls me back down and presses a kiss to my cheek. "I love you, my darling."

************

The maid walks with me down to the tailor's wing. "So what are we going to do?" I ask. "You're going to be measured for your wedding dress, milady!" She says. Oh, right. Wedding prep is still kind of a thing. She opens the door for me and I find the royal tailor standing in front of a myriad of dresses. "Greetings, Princess Azalena. My name is Cinna and I am the royal tailor. Pick out whichever dress you like and I'll have it tailored to you," he says.

I stroll back and forth, looking at the dresses in great detail. In the end I decide on an ivory colored ballgown with golden accents.

"Excellent choice, Princess. Now I just need to take your measurements..." He grabs a tape measure and starts around my bosom, then works down to my waist. Cinna finishes taking the measurements and smiles. "I think you will look absolutely beautiful. We'll keep it here until the ceremony," he reassures me. "Right. Thank you, Cinna."

The maid leads me back to our quarters where Loki is eagerly waiting. "What did they need you for?" He asks. "Nothing bad, just measurements for the wedding," I shrug. He nods and kisses me gently. We're interrupted again and I see a subtle expression of fury creep onto Loki's face. "Easy, love," I whisper. I open the door and the same maid from before is there. "Apologies, your Highnesses. The cooks have requested both your presences in the kitchens for cake testing," she says just audibly. Loki shrugs and whispers, "At least it's cake."

We walk down to the kitchens and have at least twenty different types of cake held before us. We sample and eat to our heart's content before we end up deciding on chocolate with vanilla icing and fondant roses cascading down the side.

"Will that be all for today?" Loki asks cooly, albeit frustrated. The maid thinks for a moment then says, "The matter of invites has to be dealt with, but the Allfather and Allmother will deal with that." We both take a sigh of relief and retreat back into our quarters. We've missed lunch (although we don't have an appetite with the cake we've eaten) and dinner has arrived. Loki has left strict instructions to not be disturbed.

"Finally, we're alone," he sighs. "Finally," I sigh, stripping out of the gown and into a nightdress. "Already?"

"Yes. I'm tired and if the maids listen, we're not going to be disturbed."
Loki smirks and uses magic to change himself into pajamas. I crawl into bed with him and we while our time away reading until sunset. "The sunset is beautiful, my Azalena," he whispers.

"Yes it is. And?"

"And I need someone to watch it with."
He kisses my temple and walks out with me to the balcony. He holds me in his arms as we watch the sun go down over Asgard, hearing cheers and hollers come from Great Hall. "My Azalena."

"My Loki."
